Here it is, another list of things you shouldn’t wear for the beach. This time it’s all about what not to wear for the romantic date on the beach. After all this sand in my sandals and feeling overdressed for a beach date I can give you a list of all the things you shouldn’t wear for a beach date. The entire list. Trust me; I haven’t missed a thing.
LEARN FROM THE MISTAKES I MADE AT OUR ROMANTIC DATE AT SUNSET ON THE BEACH
So here it goes, a boy asked me out. And I, all excited for a romantic date, put on this beautiful silk dress and sandals. Truth to be told, I didn’t know where he is taking me. I only knew he was taking me somewhere nice to watch the sunset. I assumed it would be the new restaurant in the town, with the most beautiful view of Ljubljana at sunset.
But hell, no. He took me to an even more romantic place. Why I’m blaspheming? Because I wasn’t dressed for a date on the beach. Yes, knowing I’m wearing this beautiful silk dress and stiletto sandals, he took me to a beach date.
You can only guess how I felt. I felt overdressed and a bit angry. I was like: “Why the hell did you have to drag me here knowing I’m wearing high heels and have my hair done? Surely, you could have told me before.”
And no, this beach date wasn’t as romantic as we both hoped it would be. I could barely walk in the sand since the heels kept sinking into the sand.
Furthermore, I had to take off my sandals several times to remove all that sand. I kept doing that until I finally had enough and asked him to carry me back to the car.
Well, I guess there was at least something romantic in that.
Anyway, I learned my lesson. Hence I made this list of all the things you shouldn’t wear for a date on the beach. Making sure you don’t wear anything inappropriate for your beach date.
WHAT NOT TO WEAR ON BEACH DATE
So here is what you shouldn’t wear for a beach date. Ps. You can find a printable list with all the things that are not good to wear for a date on the beach at the end of this article.
SHOES YOU WON’T BE ABLE TO WALK ON THE BEACH
I guess you figured out by now; sandals are a no-no on the romantic date at sunset on the beach. Well, unless you are not really into the guy or he is simply too boring, and you would prefer playing with your shoes then him all date long.
You shouldn’t wear any shoes that you can’t walk in the sand or on the rocks. Or that are not easy to take off. Because face it, unless you wear wedges (like I did ), there will be sand in your shoes no matter what you do. So better wear shoes that you can take off quickly, get the sand out and put back on instantly without your date noticing anything.
COCKTAIL DRESS YOU WOULD WEAR FOR A DINNER AT RESTAURANT
In short, nothing that will make you look overdressed or even underdressed. Well, it depends on the type of person your boy is. But still, don’t wear anything that looks too smart.
You know, it’s better to wear swimwear than a gown on the beach.
Nevertheless, if you do end up wearing a gown on the beach, you can always fix your look with this item (check here)!
PEARL HAIR CLIPS
Ps. Pearl hair clips and other pearl hair accessories are not one of them.
