What to Wear to the Food Market
It’s first spring Friday, and I’m slowly walking through the streets of Ljubljana. I step for the moment, make a pose, turn around, give my charming look, smile and walk away as nothing has happened. You know, my usual street photo shooting. Then I hear the bell tolling. I know it’s ten o’clock, so I look to my mom and tell her to follow me. I see that joyful shine of impatient little girl in her eyes as we walk down the Stritar’s alley, passing the Plečnik’s Market and turn to Pogačarjev trg Square. “Oh, I can already smell it. Are you sure you don’t want to get changed and put on the jeans and the sneakers we have with us in this bag? Is this sizzle coming from there?,” she asks. “Yes, mom. I guess it’s the bacon. Or perhaps the falafel. And, no I’m not getting changed.”
A LITTLE GLIMPSE OF RUFFLES AND OPEN KITCHEN
I know you want to know more about what I’m eating and wearing this time. But let us leave the food for now. You can taste it by yourself at the Open Kitchen, anyway. All you really need to know is that that cake is like the silk I’m wearing. And the mousse that delicately covers the delicate meringue. Well, it’s like the ruffles on my sleeves. They fit together just perfectly.
Nevertheless, now that I already write about the food, I need to mention the bacon, too. Surely there was some bacon in the pan. Or was it just the hamburger. Honestly, I can’t remember. There were cocktails and wine, though. Anyway, I’m sure the bacon matched my boots. Oh, and the pistachio’s candies with rose petals, like my boho dress. Full of flavors and fragrance.
