Outfits that come embellished are the best shortcut to a great night out. A black tie is the ultimate accessory for winter 2024 that will easily transition into your guy’s wardrobe once this fashion trend is over.

Buy a Valentino black tie to make the statement effortlessly. Made of wool and silk, and pre-knotted, a Valentino Garavani black tie is on everyone’s wishlist.

Point of view, it does get more classic with a slim Saint Laurent black tie from his capsule wardrobe.

But winter makes us look for accessories that will keep us warm, too.

SOCKS AND TIGHTS

Satin, sheer or matt, daytime or evening, black tights are essential once it gets cold and days are short. POV the less the sun you see, the darker your hosiery should be. By the way, I swear on Wolford, Falke, Max Mara, and La Perla – they last the longest.

While high socks and cashmere tights are a winter staple, red tights are the latest fashion trend you need to buy into if you wish to put together exquisite capsule wardrobe outfits for winter 2024. I won’t buy into this trend, though. It attracts creeps (apparently, many think girlies don’t wear underwear under tights – I know, shocking and disgusting), and I certainly don’t want to be sexualized. By the way, I bought these silk over the knee socks and leg warmers instead. Leg warmers are giving. Try this trend for a plot.

THE MOST FASHIONABLE SOCKS AND STYLISH TIGHTS YOU NEED IN YOUR WINTER CAPSULE WARDROBE

UNDERWEAR AND LINGERIE

I wish creeps to know, we wear granny panties this season! Under the tights or under a sheer skirt, boxer pants and granny pants are the best underwear of the season. Pair with a fashionable wired bra in ultra-fine laces combined with sheers.

Often it is the unseen things that are the most important building blocks of our outfits. Invest in your underwear like it would be the most precious thing everyone could see as you walk through the door.

Cotton panties – I wear low waist Etam shorty panties (btw they run big, but you will love not being restrained) or Calvin Klein cotton briefs most of the time, can be worn with everything.

While subtle inflections of embellished lace are little secrets that you share with yourself, yet they are the building block of every outfit. Perfect for moments when discretion is required, lacy underwear and silk underwear are styles that still make you feel extra special. In case you wonder, I always shop from Maison Lejaby for lace underwear and La Perla for silk underwear.

Underwear that multi-task conserves valuable space in our lingerie drawer. A push-up bra (now back in fashion) – I wear Etam push-up bras – they are some of the most comfortable bras – save you thinking about “how will I look” with the added benefit of comfort.

Unlikely in the same way, tanga briefs are supposed to go well with any outfit. I don’t think so. Especially not when wearing the most captivating outfits of the season – they require boxer briefs. Also, tanga briefs are not in my capsule wardrobe.

THE MOST PRECIOUS WINTER UNDERWEAR

GLOVES

Find the perfect accent for every occasion with a pair of fashionable elbow leather gloves. Long leather gloves will transition well with the double-breasted vest or cape (by the way, I bought these pink leather gloves – they match my favourite coat), whilst red cashmere gloves will add a soft touch to your new coat for the day.

You will never look out of place with silk opera gloves at a white tie event. By the way, I have just bought myself new opera gloves in dove grey. I find them more appropriate for a white tie wedding than white opera gloves.

For the countryside, get short leather gloves. I have them in every colour, but I love the navy blue and brown leather gloves the most.

Transition into deep winter with a pair of Loro Piana cashmere winter gloves or teddy mittens, or pocket muff if you are looking for something more exquisite. I will buy these Max Mara mittens in pastel blue. 

GLOVES ARE WINTER ACCESSORIES YOU SHOULDN’T LEAVE YOUR HOME WITHOUT

WINTER SCARF

Like gloves, cashmere scarves and silk scarves never go out of style. You will find a Hermès silk scarf the most versatile piece in your capsule wardrobe, worn around the neck, tied on the top handle of your favourite designer bag to protect the leather, on your head instead of a trendy cap, or as a top under an oversized blazer.

POV if you are looking for a fashionable note to make your capsule wardrobe outfits really pop this winter, get a hooded scarf, a wrap scarf, or a throughout cutout turtleneck vest. Throughout cutout turtleneck vests are the latest fashion trend.

THE BEST DESIGNER SCARVES 2024 YOU WILL WEAR FOREVER

A BELT

The low-slung waistlines that have returned to accompany #Y2K styling provide a lot of potential for refreshing the belt category. There are options here to reframe classic leather styles as the season’s must-have add-on accessory. Experiment with plating colours and finishes to add interest to studded dome details and stones and use this style to draw attention to your hips as seen at Miu Miu SS24. Shop for studded #Y2K belts or try a boho belt with a stone. Or be fashion forward and get a brown wide suede leather belt that will be everywhere come January. Pov, everywhere but in my closet. I loathe suede and super wide belts. I prefer pretty classy belts like this one from Khaite, or even more this one from Celine that I hopefully get to buy this season. My size is never available.

By the way, I had more luck with this slim black Saint Laurent belt. But you might prefer to shop for a wider belt instead – they are more fashionable for winter 2024 and will transition into spring 2024 much better.

BELTS TO INVEST IN FOR A CAPSULE CLOSET THIS SEASON

SUNGLASSES

Whatever the season, the power of the aviator sunglasses – I will buy these Ray Ban aviator sunglasses, and XL black designer sunglasses remain undiminished. Especially Acne sunglasses.

But you might want to invest in sunglasses that will add up to any capsule winter outfit. It’s time to invest in this true icon of style – supersized shield shades. They are the most fashionable sunglasses of winter 2024 and spring summer 2024. Expect to see shield shades with colourful frames on every nose.

Or get trendy and get the number one most popular tiktok shades – the rimless frames with an extended temple and bold tinted lenses. Ps. If you are for something equally fun, but more classy, get Chloé ombre sunglasses.

While logo hair clips are something we collect as stamps, you might want a hair accessory box filled with both trendy and classy hair accessories that never go out of fashion.

Perfectly balanced between elegance and femininity, a skinny ribbon bow is the hallmark of fashionable daytime dressing. A black jersey headband (this season’s most fashionable hair accessory – btw I bought these black and dark grey jersey headbands at H&M) stuns at every significant moment. Whilst camellias take you from day to night effortlessly.

A turban is a chic answer for winter dressing. Perfectly matched with brown low waisted wide-leg trousers and a black turtleneck or a relaxed pantsuit, it’s a versatile hair accessory that will keep making an appearance.

Go forth with cute knitted hair accessories for the day. When evening draws and golden hours arrive, maximize on your hair accessories and swap out for heart bobby pins or double up on playful Y2K hair accessories.

Dance the night away with a floral headband. For an extra touch, style with crystal gems placed on your middle part.

On your days off, wear an elasticated headband – it’s the latest hair accessory trend. A simple ultra-slim black elastic headband gives a trendy touch to everyday looks. A diamond ring, a fine watch, pearl necklace, and pearl earrings will reign forever and hence deserve the most exclusive place in your jewellery box.

On the other hand, you might want to level up your capsule winter closet outfits with some trendy pieces.

If you, like me, don’t wear earrings but wish to add a bit of Babrieocre drama to your chic outfits, get a necklace with charms or gemstone-encrusted jewellery. It’s back in style! Adornments should be pinned around the body in single or multiple placements, highlighting this silhouette’s versatile nature for adding embellishment to apparel and accessories. Use as an alternative to holiday sparkle to promote longevity and limit the virgin usage of sequins.

A great blazer is an instant game-changer. It is the item that does everything, goes everywhere and will be in your wardrobe forever.

While you only need one great blazer – this one from Sandro Paris is the one I wear the most, you might want to have more options.

Since the 80s style blazer, it’s back in style, you might want to shop for a padded shoulder blazer first. Yes, padded shoulders and hourglass blazers are fashionable again. But you might prefer an oversized blazer cinched with a cord instead. It is a must have in every winter capsule wardrobe. The added darts ensure a tight fit on the waist, while the removable cord belt gives you versatility by allowing you to cinch in, depending on your preference.

If you are looking for something exceptional and fashion forward you might want to buy a matching vest as well. The 3-piece suit will be in fashion in 2024 again.

WINTER 2024 OUTWEAR

A structured jacket like a fashionable cropped tweed jacket or college tweed jacket looks great thrown over jeans for a cool day look to run errands in.

Pov, we still don’t know how to wear the peplum jacket that just came back in fashion. But buy it for a plot.

LIGHT JACKET YOU CAN WEAR UNDER A COAT

Whether it is casual or dressed up for outside an oversized distressed leather jacket and a cute leather jacket (I bought Sandro Paris biker jacket) is the easiest item to throw on but a racer bomber jacket is the most fashionable for winter 2024. Layer over everything from shirts for the day or going out tops and dresses at night.

By the way, I’m obsessed with this racer bomber jacket. It’s in pink. Also, I think it is a perfect transitional jacket that will work equally well over a high neck top and a dress come spring.

However, you might want to go for a more casual fashion forward option as well.

THE MOST FASHIONABLE LIGHT JACKETS FOR WINTER 2024

The most fashionable light jacket for winter 2024 is an elevated wool bomber jacket. I have my eyes on this bomber jacket from Massimo Dutti. It’s the best transitional jacket ever! And you can layer it over dress pants.

POV If you need something even more casual, get a satin bomber jacket, satin anorak, or a furry stole.

If you love a good denim jacket, get a cropped denim jacket – it will be fashionable for SS24.

TRENDY LIGHT JACKETS TO WEAR UNDER THE COAT THAT SHOULDN’T MISS IN YOUR CAPSULE WARDROBE

However, if you can only afford one piece of outwear, get a Barbour jacket (I have it, too). It will be just perfect for the winter staycation in the countryside. Also, you want that jacket if you wish to follow the old money outfit trend effortlessly.

CASUAL LIGHT JACKETS YOU NEED IN YOUR CAPSULE WARDROBE

One thing we love about cool weather dressing is a  cropped jacket with cargo pockets. I found this perfect cropped jacket with cargo pockets. I will pair it with a casual T-shirt and jeans in early winter and with wool wide leg pants when the weather turns colder.

TRENCH COAT

Cold weather always inspires silhouettes that pack a punch. The last thing we want when the temperatures fall is to constantly think what to wear.

A trench coat always takes the guesswork out of guessing – especially when a satin anorak is not an option. I could not imagine my life without my Burberry trench coat. It was the best buy, for sure.

If you already have a stunning trench coat that never feels outdated, you will be excited about the mix between the new styles and updated classics that are coming in fashion for spring 2024. A trench coat with ruffles or feminine touches (I have two – but don’t wear them at all) and a long trench coat (I have this one from Massimo Dutti – I don’t like it as the quality is not like at Burberry – pov if you know you know, and I think with a price of $299 is too expensive, but my girlies think it was my best buy) will be the most fashionable for spring 2024.

But you might want to be smart, and double up on a classic Kensington trench coat. The classic trench coat is the most fashionable for winter 2024, also it never really goes out of style.

YOUR CAPSULE WARDROBE WON’T BE COMPLETE WITHOUT A TRENCH COAT – THESE TRENCH COATS ARE THE MOST FASHIONABLE

EVERYDAY JACKET

A distressed leather jacket, chic aviator jacket or fluffy trimmed biker jacket, it is important that our bodies feel touched by luxury in the colder months.

Oversized aviator jackets and fluffy trimmed leather jackets look equally fabulous paired with bare legs or tights and boots when the cold weather comes.

WINTER JACKET

Thinking about how to stay warm as the weather stays cold? Winter dressing is all about wrapping up without sacrificing style. The easiest way to do it?

We love the warm hug of a padded puffer jacket (preferably in red for winter 2024) that wraps around our bodies in winter. Do away with dull styles that don’t excite and opt for bright colours that flatter as well as comfort.

FASHIONABLE WINTER COAT

Try an oversized long shaggy coat, or fall for the irresistible charm of floor sweeping long faux fur coat. Or a scarf coat if you are the old money.

If you are looking for a capsule coat that will never lead you astray, try out a camel coat. Style your new camel coat over trendy baggy cargo jeans for a playful approach or with wide-leg wool pants for a touch of vintage glamour.

THE MOST FASHIONABLE WINTER COATS 2024

Smart tailoring lends structure to every outfit and can save your day when minutes are at a premium. A sharply tailored maxi-length coat is capable of sprucing up your everyday jeans. By the way, I will buy this dark blue long double breasted coat from Sandro. It’s made 100% of wool. Obv I will have to replace the poli lining with silk, but this is an easy upgrade that a skilled seamstress can easily make.

On the other hand, a long coat with a statement belt can make you put together in everything – even sweatpants.

But a cape works as a stand-alone item for a glamorous night out. I have one in black. Btw, I also bought this long black coat from Loulou Studio. It’s made of wool and cashmere and is the best definition of relaxed elegance. The shoulders are dropped, though (not as fashionable as padded shoulders for AW24), but I’m looking forward to autumn winter 2024/25, when dropped shoulders will reign supreme anyway. Besides the masculine silhouette with dropped shoulders always looks so modern. And the quality of this coat is premium.

A SUIT

Not just for the office, tailored pieces are our latest go-for a night out. From chic pantsuits with 80s style blazer and cigarette pants to fashionable red pantsuits and relaxed suit with a vest; these suits will take you anywhere from theatre to dinner and onwards to a cocktail party.

Pov, a pyjama suit in sumptuous satins nods to luxe homewear, but the dressed-up feel is equally office-appropriate. Design into the matching set that works for indoor and outdoor purposes, as the lines continue to blur between office and home.

In case you missed it, the skirt suit has just made a major reappearance.

POV Classic skirt suits have been refreshed in relaxed silhouettes that speak to business casual as well as fitted long-line iterations with long pencil skirt in line with the trend for smartening up.

EVERYONE NEEDS AT LEAST ONE SUIT IN HER CAPSULE WARDROBE

MATCHING SET

You must be enamoured with tweed sets and chunky knit sets in minimalist block shades if you are anything like me. Soft cardigans and knitted skirts are perfect options to carry you seamlessly from home comforts to real life events. Put the ease back into everyday dressing with a matching knit set, or a classy tweed set for a sophisticated approach.

YOU WILL ALWAYS HAVE SOMETHING TO WEAR WITH A MATCHING SET IN YOUR CLOSET

KNITWEAR

Knits are such tactile objects, and we just love the ones that are extra soft and feel super fluffy.

On the other hand, an oversized turtleneck vest is a perfect transitional item that will work equally well over jeans or shorts.

An oversized cable knit vest will look splendid over a mini skirt if you are looking forward to levelling up your preppy style. Pov I’m not a fan. But you do you.

A SWEATER

The one thing we look forward to when temperatures drop is a new winter sweater. The off the shoulder sweater with a wide fold is the latest sweater trend every girlie is shopping for winter 2024 eagerly.

Here are some top tips on what to choose if you are having trouble deciding which sweater is for you. POV sweater with a bardot neckline and wide foldover are not the only sweaters in fashion for winter 2024.

For the day, pair your new turtleneck sweater (btw I have this one from Max Mara that I wear way too often) with jeans or leather pants and a grey oversized turtleneck sweater with tailored pants when you want to nail the relaxed suiting fashion trends. Btw I will also buy this sweater because I have one in camel already (btw mine is not itchy – but I bought it a while ago), and I feel it will look so good with slim trousers for a more boyish charm.

For the night, a thin see-through cardigan sweater (by the way, I will buy this sweater in every colour) works equally well paired with a sheer midi skirt or shorts.

A camel sweater is the best sweater to put on when you are rushed for time. It goes with everything! I love wearing my Max Mara camel turtleneck sweater (my recent purchase) with blue jeans and pointy flats for the day or with tailored black trousers and stilettos when I need an outfit to take me from the desk to dinner with no stops in between.

Sweaters don’t have to be plain in order to be suitable for every day. In fact, extra details like a pretty collar or pearls stitched down the neck give additional possibilities to make the transition from casual daytime to evening.

But again, you might want to treat yourself to off the shoulder sweater with a wide fold that will lift the spirits this season.

Make it old money with a V-neck sweater (it will transition into spring 2024 as the most fashionable sweater of the season) or a pearl beaded sweater (I just bought this pearl beaded sweater) that makes any outfit look feminine and elegant effortlessly.

There is so much on offer beyond the staple cable knit sweaters in camel and grey. As the days get shorter, why not contemplate more exquisite knits? Try a bold open knit sweater to give an added kick or indulge in some retro nostalgia in a zip sweater.

A college sweater – I just bought this chic collage sweater from Sandro is an instant pick-me-up. A chic college sweater is the one item that really pulls an outfit together. Achieve perfect winter layering paired with trousers for the day and a coat on top or wear on your shoulders for an interesting twist.

Ps. Don’t forget about the ugly Christmas sweater. Worn only once a year, it’s a festive must.

CLASSY CAPSULE CLOSET STAPLE SWEATERS THAT NEVER GO OUT OF STYLE

A CARDIGAN

Whether it is casual at home or dressed up for outside, a fluffy oversized cardigan is the easiest item to throw on. Layer over everything from crop tops for day, shirts for work or going out tops at night.

Long cardigans are the perfect item to throw on top of summer dresses when the nights start turning chilly. With vintage embellishments and trims, they will make an easy transition into your cold season wardrobe.

Go for a more fashion forward option instead of a handmade chunky cardigan and get an extra long cardigan – long as a dress, it will transition into spring 2024. Btw, I don’t like the long cardigan trend for spring 2024.

You might also want to try a zip-thru cardigan to keep things interesting.

A cable knit cardigan – I might buy one for preppy outfits; has a vintage charm that lasts throughout the season paired with jeans or low wiasted pleated skirts tapping into the modern academia trend.

While we often need an excuse to put on a dress and really dress up, a pencil skirt and a long column denim skirt with a slit are always at the ready paired with a turtleneck or a classic shirt and boots.

With a striking silhouette and a touch of detail, a maxi denim skirt with a slit and lace panels is the hallmark of chic daytime dressing paired with stilettos.

Showcase your playful approach to contemporary femininity with a sheer pencil skirt or an A-style midi skirt full skirt. I feel ashamed, but I bought every full midi skirt in my size at Chicwish. I know, cringe, Chicwish. But the quality of the skirts I bought is exceptional. My seamstress (we had to take them in, of course – but this just means they are true to the labelled size) was impressed with the material and the stitches.

Perfectly balanced between elegance and modernity, a low waist mini skirt, wrap skirt and a silver skirt – by the way, I just bought this silver skirt; these are the skirts that stun at every moment.

Choose between a romantic layered tulle skirt and black tulle skirt (I bought this black tulle skirt) if you are looking for ultimate classics that will never go out of style.

JEANS

Denim jeans are the items we reach for on a daily, but it’s thought out details that stop them from being basic. Go for navy dark navy straight leg jeans – I have these A.P.C. straight leg jeans – or try different proportions like barrel jeans. They will both look fabulous with your new shirt.

Balloon jeans are easy additions to your winter capsule wardrobe that can be dressed down or styled up with some heels and going out top, whereas cuffed jeans are a bit more troy. But cargo jeans are fashion’s answer to comfort dressing.

Embrace the versatility of baggy jeans and pair them with everything from cosy cardigans to shirts and going out tops.

A GOOD CAPSULE CLOSET CONSISTS OF AT LEAST 3 PAIRS OF JEANS – THESE JEANS WILL BE YOUR FAVOURITE BUILDING BLOCKS

Jeans that multi-task and feel comfortable should take the biggest part of your denim drawer. Shop for Candiani denim jeans at Levi’s or Diesel (I have more than a dozen – but I will also buy these – they will transition into spring 2024).

You can also create endless outfit possibilities (more actually) with Japanese denim straight leg jeans – I love my A.P.C. jeans.

Spice up your events wardrobe by adding some the 70s French denim jeans – I will buy these 70s French denim jeans from Sézane – into the mix. Paired with a going-out top, it meets midway between casual and formal, which is a great option for date night or drinks with your friends.

Or go all out in modern skinny jeans with a wider hem.

Who says you need to leave embellishments for after dark? New season jeans come with pockets. Match your new skinny cargo jeans with a shirt for daytime glam. Daytime dressing has never looked as fabulous.

PANTS

Play with handsome tailoring for daytime affairs and make the switch from jeans to wide-leg trousers (preferably in grey – they are the most fashionable for winter 2024 – I bought these, though – because Max Mara girlie). Look to wool or flannel (you will love my grey flannel pants) as an alternative to cigarette trousers if you are not ready to welcome back this fashion trend.

It’s a micro trend, yet slim-leg pants (in grey are a key trend) will continue to slide under the radar in between wide leg pants and straight-leg silhouettes in 2024 as well.

Now the weather is cool enough to wear faux leather pants with ease, we are loving the options on offer. Cropped leather pants offer the perfect balance between looking understated whilst feeling special. Moreover, they sharpen up basic tops, making them gloriously appropriate for occasion dressing.

CHIC PANTS FOR WINTER 2024 YOU WILL WANT IN YOUR CAPSULE CLOSET

For a busy day that takes you from the office to the drinks at the bar or dinner in a fancy restaurant, you need pants that go seamlessly from day to night, always flattering your body.

Grey flannel pants are perfectly suited for busy social schedules in the city.

A satin jumpsuit save time and hassle with the added benefit of giving your a whole look in one. I will likely purchase this satin jumpsuit from That Original for December.

COMFORTABLE HOME SHOES

Mesh ballet flats – I have these from Aquazzura (not entirely mesh thought, but with features that make them fashionable for the foreseeing future) and square toe ballet flats with Mary Jane straps are shoes you will want to pair with everything from your capsule closet on a daily.

But, you might prefer Ugg Tasman in your closet if you are looking for added comfort. IMAO, they pair so well with everything you wear at home.

Ugg ultra mini platform on the other hand, offer you the best balance between comfortable and chic when you are rushed for time, but you are staying at home, obv.

But we also love Birkenstock Boston shearling clogs for some chic boyish charm. And the crowd is obsessed with Maison Margiela Tabi Mary Jane flats.

STYLISH SHOES TO WEAR AT HOME

PUMPS

Not just for the office, black court shoes are our favourite go-to for a night out. From patent leather to satin, black heels will take you anywhere from theatre to dinner and onwards to a cocktail party.

Patent leather pumps are the perfect shoes to pair with winter dresses when the nights start turning chilly. I will buy these stiletto patent leather pumps from Gianvito Rossi. But I also plan to purchase these black midi patent leather pumps from Gianvito Rossi, or black Dior midi heel patent leather heels or black patent leather midi heel pumps from By far. For the day, I bought these Mary Jane with multiple thin straps that will make an easy transition into your spring wardrobe. Pov they are so fashionable!

Shoes that glisten away put you in a dancing mood, and shiny buckle slingbacks are sure to delight. From the runway to your shoe closet, it is time for embellishments like no other.

Designed to party and the fun times ahead, steal the spotlight in shoes with a bow for your next brunch party. I will buy them, too. In black or in white – these are the shoes of the moment you want in your capsule shoe closet. POV their moment will last at least four years. This trend is still on the rise.

Nevertheless, nothing flatters the foot quite like kitten heel pumps – and they are officially back in fashion, too. Made of smooth leather or satin, and with the pointy toe that elongates the leg with its conspicuous nature. Recent iterations offer something for every party look – from hyper-embellished glamour to cool 00s minimalism. I’m obsessed with Prada kitten heel pumps. I think they are a perfect birthday gift for me.

While I know you will want to seize the comfort and wear your new Malone Souilers pointy flat mules from when you wake up to the moment you crawl back to bed, chic wedge heel shoes will take you seamlessly through the day. Paired with a blazer and trousers will speed your step as you rush to the office in the morning, or keep your feet away from the dirt as you walk through the city in your favourite denim ensemble. For the night, take them off and swap them for satin pumps.

SHOE TRENDS TO BUY INTO THIS SEASON

From the runway to the oncoming wave of spring 2024 on the street, T-bar pumps are the new highlights in your going out wardrobe. With temperatures starting to drop, take styling cues from our favourite designer and pair ankle socks back to light hosiery, or like it girlies, who suggest opting for opaque ankle socks in red.

So stylish and chic, it is quite obvious that biker boots with buckle reign supreme. Take your pick from square toe and knee high that pack a punch.

Ps. Don’t forget to add Hunter rain boots to your capsule wardrobe. You will need them for the rain in the end of the season.

WINTER SHOES

Explore an intriguing collection of winter shoes that create a striking minimalist aesthetic. Under the knee boots are still in fashion, and equestrian boots (also trending again) are our favourite boots when we are looking for the luxurious feel of leather, whilst knee high shaft provides a framework for an old money statement. I bought these riding boots – for riding, but they are obv not for riding. You can walk in them. I also ordered these flat under the knee boots (TikTok finally made me do it) and these riding boots – for under $100. The price was ridiculous – 60 % off. I knew it sounded too good to be true. But I trusted the site and the made in Italy label. And the TikTok creator who glorified the first pair. I truly hoped they were both of good quality and easy to walk in. Pov they looked promising. But the moment I opened the box, and smelled the plastic, I knew I would have to send them back. Admittedly, I would have kept them if it were just about the thin leather. But sadly, I wasn’t even able to put them on. I guess they are made for flat feet only. Mine are Barbie.

Luckily, I had more luck with high heel knee high boots. An instant step in and walk away, under the knee high boots – I bought these black knee boots are winter boots that really pull an outfit together. Build a perfect winter ensemble paired with a midi pencil skirt for the day and a coat on top or wear with a mini dress and tailored coat for a Gossip girl twist.

Sleek low block leather booties (I just love my by Far booties in light yellow – pov, they are in one of the most fashionable colors of the season, but they will be my trusted choice years to come) are a winter capsule shoe staple that will never lead you astray. Try out different colours to meet your style and activities. Go for black leather booties to wear with trousers for work or opt for light booties that pair well with jeans and cosy knits.

If you need a bit more height, go for modern knee high cowboy boots – they are style-proof winter shoes everyone needs in her capsule wardrobe. By the way, I will buy these.

For a playful fashion forward approach, shop for silver boots, silver wedge booties, pull on boots or lace-up boots – they are a micro shoe trend but are likely to stay in for quite some time and pushed forward by tiktok.

But we also love knee high boots in playful colours for a good fashion kick.

THE MOST FASHIONABLE WINTER SHOES 2024

While you might swear on UGG boots, I advise you to update your winter capsule wardrobe with a pair of mini shearling snow boots for cold, snowy days. I already have these black Inuikii boots that were one of my best buys and are just perfect for the snowstorm in the city.

Make sure you get moon snow boots – I bought them already – for your adventures on the slopes, as well. POV they are the snow boots you want to wear when making a snowman after the first major snowfall in your garden.

SNEAKERS

Even if you are not running (POV get these Hoka sneakers if you need motivation) but are running fashionably late in your Onitsuka Tiger Mexico 66 sneakers, Adidas Gazelle sneakers or Salomon XT-6.

Anyway, a pair of classic white sneakers, and New Balance 574, which I clearly bought being influenced by my French friends – is what you need in your capsule closet.

The white Veja sneakers I purchased for my winter capsule closet are my go-to sneakers to wear with wide-leg pants and jeans. And the New Balance 2002 surprisingly go with everything.

Obviously, you will want to opt out of low sneakers for high top Gazelles once temperatures drop. Pov, I actually prefer my Isabel Marant wedge sneakers for snow.

THE MOST FASHIONABLE SNEAKERS OF THE SEASON

A BAG

A small black top handle bag (like Lady Dior or Kelly bag) is set to become your favourite bag to wear on the go and hold all the essentials for a good time while adding to all your outfits.

A true capsule wardrobe essential – a medium size top handle office bag – Birkin or Gucci Diana tote is the best companion for everything from office days to city runs. They are also the best bags for when you want to travel light with just credit cards and your favourite lipstick, and a laptop, a camera and undergarments, of course.

If you are all the opposite and never leave your apartment without your apartment and carry your favourite belongings, get a slouchy crossbody bag. It is the most fashionable bag of the season, also.
