Sure it’s a suit, but you shouldn’t wear it for a job interview
LWDB - a word to Remember if you Want to Get Your Dream Job
It’s monochrome, it’s white, sharp, sophisticated, tailored, well sort of tailored, well put together pants suit. Sounds like a perfect work outfit, right? Or that outfit that would make you land your dream job. Wait! It’s all that but the last thing. This suit is NOT the suit you should wear for the job interview. No, white suit for job interview is never a good idea. Here is why!
Even though getting a new job might seem like getting married in a way, I mean you do spend most of your time at work. This doesn’t mean you should wear white for your job interview. All the contrary, the white suit is the worst possible choice you could take when standing in your walking-in-closet in the morning. Well slightly exaggerating with that the worst choice, but you know what I mean.
WHY YOU SHOULDN’T WEAR A WHITE SUIT FOR JOB INTERVIEW?
So why on earth a white suit is not the suit that will land you your dream job? In short, white is for the BOSS. Same as the Louboutins and Chanel bag. And if you are not there for the CEO position, then the white suit is not what you should wear for the job interview.
Even though the common thought is that black and red are the most powerful colours, the truth is that white is even more powerful. Especially that clean crisp white. Therefore it might be slightly too much for that HR person.
Even though HR ladies became fashion-aware in the last few years. I mean lots of them are part of Brunette from Wall Street squad and or on track with all the latest fashion trends. But you might run up with the other kind of HR person. The mice of the office. Walking around in black tights and flats. Boring, dull but mean. And with no sense of fashion.
So no, they probably won’t give a damn about the white monochrome suit being one of the most fashionable outfits. Well unless they read Brunette from Wall Street blog or work in fashion. But even then they might give you that look if you show up in white to the job interview.
Not to say anything more, just remember this word LWDB.
WTF* IS LWDB?
LWDB? Wondering what this is* Louboutins, white, designer bag. These are all the things you should never wear to the job interview. I didn’t add the jeans, as jeans are actually fine for some job interviews. As long as they are dark of course. What so ever, I wrote more about jeans being acceptable for work over here.
By the way, you did know about the Louboutins and the designer bags, right? I’m pretty sure I mentioned this in my guide covering what to wear for a job interview last autumn. Ps. In case you missed that guide, be sure to check it here.
WHITE IS FOR THE BOSS
As said, a white suit is for the boss. So good news for you, if you are a CEO. Or getting married. Well, yes, you can wear this all in white outfit for work if you are getting married in between the lunch break.
Whatsoever, find out more about what to wear for a wedding on Wednesday here.
