WHAT TO WEAR TO WORK IN WINTER 2020

The first snow always mixes up with our work wardrobe, doesn’t it? All the sudden wearing just a blazer and a shirt at the office isn’t enough anymore. And you feel cold all day long. Well, not anymore! Here are some cozy winter outfits you can wear for work too. Who says, you can’t dress up the sweater and wear it for work?

You certainly can. Remember all those business winter sweaters that I showed you a few weeks ago? Over here in case, you forgot.

As said, all those sweaters are great to wear for work when you are cold. You just need to style them right. Don’t worry, I will show you how – scroll down.

But first, I need to remind you of another two materials that are great to wear for work in winter. Tweed and suede. There are no other materials that would be warmer and more fashionable for winter 2020 than tweed and suede. Nor so easy to style.

But still, how to style tweed, suede and wool for work in winter? How to style these cosy materials if you need to dress smart casual or at least business casual in winter? Scroll down for the answer.

THE BEST WINTER WORK OUTFITS

And here they are – the best winter work outfits you can wear from the office to the snowy street. Surely, I would like to write from the office to the slopes, but we well know I would be exaggerating. Nevertheless, you can wear these winter outfits for all your winter family gatherings and catch-ups as well. Including brunch and coffee dates with your friends after holidays.

Ps. Be sure to save/pin your favourite winter office outfits to make sure you don’t forget any of them. The pin button is in the left corner of each collage.

By the way, all the collages are hyperlinked and shoppable. All you need to do to buy your favourite 2020 winter work outfit is to click on the items in the pink brackets or in the galleries below. One item at the time, of course.

WINTER WORK OUTFITS WITH JEANS

First, some business casual winter work outfit ideas with jeans. Yes, with jeans. I know, many of you aren’t really allowed to wear jeans at the office during the week because of the corporate dress code, but if you can break the dress code, then put on a pair of dark jeans this winter.

Indeed, dark jeans are the best pants to wear for work in winter. For one, they don’t get dirty in the snow and mud. And for two, it’s easier to style boots with jeans than with wool pants.

Plus, if you get the right pair of dark jeans (get these from A.P.C.) and wear them as suggested below, you will look fashionable. And somehow smart, too.

#1 DARK JEANS WITH CAMEL COAT

Straight from the winter capsule wardrobe – dark jeans with a camel coat. This outfit is great for anyone, indeed. It’s chic and classic. And foremost warm and comfortable.

Well, if you still feel a bit cold, put on a fur hat as seen below.

#2 DARK JEANS WITH CAMEL COAT, BLACK SHIRT AND A FAUX FUR HAT

#3 DARK JEANS WITH PINK COAT

For all of you who already bought this pink coat – here is one way to wear it 9-5 weekday. Ps. If you don’t have this pink coat yeat – click here.

#4 PRINCESS COAT WITH TWEED JACKET, JEANS AND FAUX FUR HAT

Another outfit fit for Frozen fashionistas is this one – wool princess coat with dark jeans and a tweed jacket under the princess coat and fur hat.

WINTER WORK OUTFITS WITH BOOTS

Slouched, over the knee, or ankle – here are some office work outfits with office boots you will love for sure.

#5 SLOUCHED BOOTS WITH VINYL PANTS

This outfit is perfect for fashion editors. Ps. If you prefer classic leather pants instead of the vinyl pants – check these pants as well.

#6 WHITE ANKLE BOOTS WITH BLACK BLAZER AND DARK BLUE JEANS

2020 WINTER OFFICE OUTFITS WITH SKIRTS

Midi, pencil or mini. Yes, in winter you can wear a mini skirt for work too. For sure, winter is the best time to wear mini skirts for the office. I know this sounds a bit confusing since you usually feel cold when wearing a mini skirt. Still, winter is the time when you can wear mini skirts with over the knee boots. Furthermore, winter is the season when you can wear mini skirts made of tweed, which is, as you know, warm.

#7 MINI TWEED SKIRT WITH OVER THE KNEE BOOTS

Truth to be told, this is my favourite winter work outfit. I simply love wearing a tweed skirt and over the knee boots in winter. And I know you will love to wear this winter office outfit too. It’s just so comfortable and fancy. Yes, fancy is the right word. Although powerful would be appropriate as well. Whatsoever, this outfit will make you feel capable of doing anything this winter. Ps. Here are two more ways to wear mini tweed skirts with OTK boots in winter 2020.

#8 PENCIL SKIRT WITH OVER THE KNEE BOOTS

Nevertheless, it’s not just mini skirts that we wear with over the knee boots this season. Pencil skirt goes great with OTK boots as well.

#9 PLEATED MIDI SKIRT WITH OVER THE KNEE BOOTS

Surely, you can wear any boots with a long midi skirt. But truth to be told, over the knee boots (shop here) are the most comfortable. Especially if you have to sit at the desk all day long.

#10 SUEDE SKIRT WITH OVER THE KNEE BOOTS

Another great winter work outfit with a skirt is this one with a matching over the knee boots and suede skirt.

#11 PLEATED MIDI SKIRT WITH SLOUCHY BOOTS AND A SWEATER

This outfit is perfect if you work in fashion. Although your coworker has probably worn it already. I keep seeing fashionistas wearing the same colour combinations – a red oversized turtleneck sweater and dark blue midi skirt with some cool boots; or red sweater with pink skirt – this winter. Well, I wore it the first and here is the proof.

SWEATER OUTFITS FOR WORK IN WINTER

Now winter office outfits you were waiting for the most – work outfits with sweaters. Here are some of my favourite sweater work outfits. Ps. To see more work outfits with a sweater, check this post over here.

#12 CAMEL SWEATER WITH DARK JEANS AND BLACK ANKLE BOOTS

Again, the dark jeans. But any other dark pants would look as cool as the dark jeans on these boots and under this coat.

#13 CAPE OVER CAMEL SWEATER AND LEATHER PANTS

You can also style a camel sweater with leather pants or vinyl pants for work in winter. To make this outfit even more stylish put on a cape instead of the classic winter coat.

SWEATER DRESS FOR WORK

Last but not least, a sweater dress. There is no doubt that a sweater dress is the number one most popular winter dress for work. Especially because a sweater dress can be smart casual, in some cases even business formal, too. Check the widget below to see business formal sweater dresses and smart casual sweater dresses.

Got a sweater dress that you would love wearing for work this winter? Now here is how to style it to follow the office dress code.

#14 SWEATER DRESS WITH OVER THE KNEE BOOTS

The best way to style a sweater dress for work is with over the knee boots. Especially if your sweater dress is as short as mine.

Ps. Don’t wear this outfit if you work on Wall Street or at the law office. But wait, don’t get me wrong. It’s not the boots, it’s the dress. If you need to dress business formal get this sweater dress (see/shop here) and wear them as I showed you above – with matching over the knee boots. Or even better, with pumps.

DRESS OUTFITS FOR OFFICE IN WINTER 2020

Finally, a silk shirt dress that is perfect to wear when you go from the office to the club or Valentine’s Day dinner date.
