Sunday brunch Outfit Your Mother-in-Law Would love to Wear too
Don’t look like that. I know you don’t want to twin with your mother in law at Sunday brunch. But she will want to steal this pretty lilac dress from you today. You can trust me on this. I found it in my mother’s closet, so it must be true.

Truth to be told I promised myself I won’t be wearing and later posting so many pink outfits on Brunette from Wall Street anymore. Since they don’t feel like me nor Brunette from Wall Street. Honestly, I don’t feel good in pink anymore. Not sure if this feeling is actually legit. I probably just wore pink too much and have it over my head now. Ps. Don’t know if this is the way to say it, but I’m pretty sure you know what I mean.
Whatsoever, regardless of how I feel about pink and all pinky hues, including lilac, I decided to share another pink and feminine look this time. After all, you come first! And I know you are looking for some pretty Sunday brunch outfit that your mother in law will love.
WHAT TO WEAR FOR SUNDAY BRUNCH WITH YOUR IN-LAWS
Since it’s the last Sunday in the month, read time for brunch with your in-laws, sharing this feminine look seemed a must do to me.
So here it is, this pretty, romantic and feminine look even your mother in law will love. Well, at least she should like it. I mean I found this dress in my mothers closet. So it is most certainly 50+ (pardon 40+) approved.
Yes, I stole this dress from my mother! I wrote all about this fashion heist on Instagram some time ago, so be sure to check what I wrote about it over there. It’s quite a story. In short, she was angry this time. Which is not the case normally.
You know I keep borrowing her clothes – I also borrowed this beautiful pleated skirt (see here) for Sunday brunch a few weeks ago. Anyways, she wasn’t happy seeing me sneaking out of her closet with this dress in my hands.
Luckily she changed her mind after seeing me wearing this lilac dress. I told you this brunch outfit is 50+ approved. But then again she is my mother. Ps. You might want to check these mother-in-law’s approved brunch outfits too. And this one.
Enough said about mothers in law and what they like. Ha, who knows perhaps this lilac dress is the only thing you will agree about. So where to shop this Sunday brunch outfit then? Scroll down to find out!

Meaning you can shop everything from this collage simply by clicking on it. Well, you know this already. Ps. Be sure save, pin and print this fashion cheat sheet to enjoy your Sunday brunch this time. You certainly don’t want to feel those looks on your dress, do you? We all know even a spot of the cake on your dress is less annoying than that look mother in law gives you when she doesn’t approve of your look.
LILAC DRESS
As said, I stole this dress from my mother’s closet. Unfortunately, this beautiful lilac dress from LIKELY (my mother bought here) is no longer in my possession. Darja, my sister stole it from me. She loves wearing it for work with her black plexi pumps (these here).
Anyway, Darja didn’t have much luck with this dress either as my mother got furious at both of us and took it back. Who would thought all of three would go crazy about this dress my mother bought for some wedding a few months ago. I actually already showed you how she styled it for that wedding.
Yes, that is why this dress looked familiar to you. You spot it here, among all the other wedding guest’s outfits.
Another thing about this dress. You can see it’s too big for me. My mother has size 4 whereas I have size 0. This is why you see all these creases on the dress. It doesn’t crease on my mother. I must admit she looks better in this dress than I do. She looks like she was born in this dress. With no stomach and not fat pillows on her back. This dress really makes you the hourglass silhouette. That is if it’s not too big for you. Anyway, take your normal size and you will look stunning in this lilac dress for sure.
LEATHER GLOVES
Lilac leather gloves in summer?! Don’t look like that. I didn’t have time to do my nails.
Ps. This is a tip when you broke your nail or just don’t have time to let your nail polish dry properly. Just put on leather gloves, and no one will see your nail situation. Good to know if you bite your nails, right? Your mother in law definitely doesn’t need to know that.
And yes these leather gloves are thin enough so your hands won’t sweat. You can get these at Forzieri. Here on secret sale – 20 % off.
PVC PUMPS
Again, my beloved PVC pumps. Perfect pumps to wear with any feminine outfit. Especially for the Sunday brunch with your in-laws. These pumps give just the right edge to any look that doesn’t really feel you.
Get my Gianvito Rossi plexi pumps here. Or get these Gianvito Rossi pumps tipped with blush python panel. You know, to add a touch of sarcasm to your Sunday brunch outfit since you are having a brunch with a snake. Hopefully, you know what I mean only because of that film with Jane Fonda and Jenifer Lopez. By the way, have you watched it?
