Today I’m sharing mine on the go winter outfit and simple everyday makeup. The chic outfit I put on every time I’m running late and have to dress in a hurry. You know what I mean. Button up the shirt while fasting my seat belt and applying mascara at the red light. Well, I’m lying about the mascara, but you got the point. This outfit is classic, chic and suitable for any occasion. Yes, thanks, to the camel coat and black denim, even for work if you are running super late.

WHAT TO WEAR WHEN YOU ARE RUNNING LATE

I admit I’m always late. Not intentionally, though. Well, perhaps sometimes when my phone battery is already low. You know what I mean. Why sitting in the empty waiting room and checking every single app on your phone, liking all the photos in your Instagram feed (by the way, make sure you follow me on my Instagram and like mine photos) when you could sleep 5 more minutes?

Anyway, the fact is, that I’m somehow always running late. Especially to my doctor’s appointments or when I have to see my hairstylist. I’m quite sure they secretly ask me to come before my actual time, just to make sure I don’t come too late. Still, this doesn’t help much. I’m late anyway.

But I must say, I always try to come on time. And no, not by speeding up or driving through the red light. Truth to be told, red lights are for fixing makeup, right? Wait, before I let you think I’m a dangerous driver, let me finally head on what I actually do to save some time when I’m running late. Perhaps hard to believe for a fashion blogger, but I actually cut my dressing time and instead of standing in front of my closet, planning my outfit, I simply grab these clothes, put on my classic, simple makeup and go.

Keep reading to find my #5 tips on how to get ready in less than 5 minutes. Give or take to one hour, of course. No, seriously, I have some really good tips on how to cut your dressing time and get ready faster.

MY ON THE GO OUTFIT

But first more about mine on the go outfit this winter. Believe it or not, I more or less wear the same outfit every day. Well, just because I’m late almost every day. Yes, I have this on the go outfit that I will put on every time I don’t have time to think what to wear. Or think if the outfit is good to go and actually appropriate. Moreover, if this outfit is in fashion. Because it always is. Sounds splendid, right? Ps. Check my SS 2018 fashion report if you don’t believe me.

So what clothes I grab then? As said, more or less always the same. This winter the chic and classic camel coat, silk blouse, black denim jeans and black sock boots. Luckily the black denim is the denim star of the season, and it also looks sophisticated enough to wear to any kind of appointments I might have during the day. And yes, this outfit passes the casual business code too.

As said, I have some tips for you on how to get ready faster when you sleep in. But first, let me tell you what I wear under this camel coat. And of course, the one thing you want to know the most, where to get my outfit.

WRAP CAMEL COAT

You know this Escada wrap camel coat already. And quite well as a matter of fact. Afterall it’s no secret I have been wearing it on and on this winter. Rember here? And also here where I wrote how to wear a classic camel coat on Saturdays. Wait, don’t think this coat is more of a casual one because it’s far from that. It simply goes well with everything. I got this coat from Escada, and you can shop it on sale here. Or in case you come too late, get a similar one here.

SILK BLOUSE

The best way to make this outfit work for any occasion is to add another chic yet classic item that, like the wrap camel coat, goes well with everything. While making, you look dressed appropriately from morning till, well you know, the next morning. Surely, you know what item I’m talking about. Or perhaps not, as everyone claims the plain simple cotton white shirt to be the best choice every single day. But it really isn’t the best choice.

The best top you should wear under the coat is far more luxurious and chic. Yes, it’s the silk blouse. Or silk shirt. Whatever, as long as it’s silk and doesn’t have too many buttons. I don’t even need to mention why. I mean who has time to button up the shirt anyway? My on the go silk blouse doesn’t actually have any buttons, but tasseled ties at the collar, that I can tie in the car if not already on my way to it.

You can’t actually see the black silk blouse that I’m wearing this time, but you can find and shop it here, on sale. It’s from Equipment. However, I found even more no button silk blouses at a fair price for you. Some even on sale, so check the widget below to see them all.

BLAZER

Obviously, I can’t skip wearing another layer under my coat. Even though the silk blouse is quite warm, it’s winter after all. So two layers under the coat are somehow a must even when you could go with only just one. My favourite on the go blazer is a not really a blazer but a tweed jacket. It’s quite unbelievable how this “grandma’s jacket” can be so sophisticated yet sporty at the same time. The blazer I’m wearing is from Dolce Gabbana (bought here), but it’s already sold out. You can ask for the notification when this stunning tweed jacket comes back to the store, though. Still, there’s no need for you to wait that long. I found another tweed jacket, for less than $100 over here. And few others in the widget below.

DARK DENIM JEANS

Yes, you can wear these jeans for work, too! Although, better just as an exception, especially if you work on Wall Street or law office. Nevertheless, you can wear them when running late. Honestly, I don’t think anyone will even notice you are wearing jeans if you come to the office late. I mean there will be other things far more important to discuss than what pants you are wearing. Whatsoever, if they talk, let them talk. These jeans are chic and refined. Thanks to the thick dark denim and tapered cut. I got my dark tapered jeans from A.P.C. (shop here).

SOCK BOOTS

No zippers, no laces. Just pull them up and off you go. Sock boots are the best choice to wear on the go in the winter for sure. Of course, pumps would be even better, but it’s still winter. Besides, we all know it’s not safe to run in stiletto pumps when there’s ice everywhere. The safest bet to chose as part of your on the go winter outfit is the sock boots with chunky heels. My black sock boots come from Elena Iachi, and you can shop them here. Ps. Check how I wore these boots before here.

ACCESSORIES

Who has time to think about the accessories when in a hurry? Certainly not me! Yet I can’t leave my home without these three. The bag, hat and gloves. Well, I could skip the hat, thanks to my stunning full hair (by the way, check here to read how I grew my hair so full and so long). But I could not leave my home without the gloves and bag. So I keep this pair of gloves (shop here) in my coat pockets and this mini black bag (get similar here) next to it.

QUICK MAKEUP FIX

I almost forgot to mention the makeup. I guess makeup is one thing we tend to forget about when we are already running late. Or simply skip it completely as it takes so long to put on the fake lashes? Or does it? Honestly, I don’t know about the lashes, as I don’t wear fake ones. Anyway, let’s leave the fake lashes. We are talking about the makeup on the go you can apply chiefly in 2 minutes.

So, what makeup can you put on in 2 minutes? Well, I can put on the foundation, all in one blush, fix and highlighter, eyeshadows, mascara and lip liner. I grab the lipstick though and apply it in the car. Someone mentioning the red lights? Ups, you caught me.

Veronika Lipar of Brunette from Wall Street dressed in wrap Escada camel coat, A.P.C. dark tapered denim jeans, black sock boots from Elena Iachi, black fur hat and small black top handle bag while standing the street

Anyway, back to the foundation. Luckily my skin is spotless at the moment so I can go out wearing just the cushion and blush-fix-highlighter. I use Dior cushion (get here) and Guerlain Météorities Voyage (shop here) that’s fix, blush and highlighter at once. Yes, with one simple stroke you set up your makeup, ad the light and some natural colour on your face. Sure, this makeup wonder is a bit pricey, but you can get a refill on a budget here. Believe me, you need this.

Now, the eye shadows. There’s only one colour palette you can put on in few seconds and look beautiful. And not like you slept with your makeup on. It’s the natural, brown palette. You simply can’t make it look not perfect. I use the one from Burberry as it blends on my eyelids easily. Without leaving the dust everywhere. You can get it here.

Finally the mascara. You know my favourite mascaras come from Dior. But truth to be told, not even the latest mascara, the PumpnVolume, is super easy to apply. I mean it takes more than few seconds to put it on my long lashes. Therefore I have another mascara on the side. One that I use only when I’m late as it doesn’t make my lashes look so long as the PumpnVolume. Don’t get me wrong, my lashes look long even without the mascara as they are actually long. I know, lucky me.

Anyway, the fact how long your lashes look should be your last concern when running late. I mean who will believe you, you are late because you slept in if you come to work with lashes up to the eyebrows. On the other hand, you better make your lashes pop if you want to blame it on the accident on the road. What so ever, this is the mascara I use when I have only 2 minutes to do my makeup. It’s from Clinique. The Lash Power™ Mascara Long-Wearing Formula. It holds up 24 hours, and it doesn’t smudge or smear. Also, you can take it off just with the warm water. Get it here.

Lastly, the lipstick. I’m wearing Dior red matte lipstick. Shop here. Well yes, I put on my red lipstick in the car. I’m an expert for this. Whatsoever, I need to mention, the red lipstick shouldn’t be your number one on the go lipstick. It does require a calm hand and some skills. Better pick up a nude lipstick like this one here when in a hurry. Therefore even if you miss your lips, and pint your nose or chin instead, it won’t look so drastic. And you will be able to remove it easily. You can thank me later for this tip. Oh, but don’t forget the lip counter. I use this one here.

Clinique stick concealer with txt overlay All you need for a quick makeup fix

Obviously, unless you are a makeup artist you can’t do the full makeup in less than 2 minutes if your skin is as radiant and spotless as mine at the moment. We all know covering rashes, and acne takes quite some time. I’ve been there, and I know quite well. Still, after years of search, I found a concealer that covers all and is easy to apply. It’s from Clinique, and you can get it here.
