Imagine the soft Giza 45 cotton sheets caressing your skin as you become aware of the warm sunlight dancing across your face. The sweet chirping of birds outside won’t let you sleep for five minutes more. You stretch languidly, feeling the satisfying pull of muscles awakening. Pov, you are not doing the pilates/yoga in your bed anymore after tearing your muscles. So you head straight to the bathroom.

The minty tingle of toothpaste revitalises your senses as you start brusing your teeth, you don’t like its taste, but all for shiny white teeth. The scent of your favorite body wash fills the steamy air as you shower, and the water washes away the last whiffs of sleep.

Wrapped in a plush towel, you enter your bedroom to put on UV 50+ (I’m using this one from Chanel now – it gives the best protection, but it starts to peel if I apply it too slowly), perfume, deodorant and some blush before running to your dressing room. Your fingers brush against various fabrics – pov just for the plot – you will instantly grab your new red dress. As you slip it on and reach for the Gucci Signorina slingbacks. The supple leather feels butter-soft as you put them on, the slight heel instantly elongating your legs and boosting your confidence.

Finally, you put on a headband, grab a purse and close the door.

Stepping out onto the street a gentle breeze plays with the hem of your dress. The red fabric flutters enticingly as you walk and your Gucci Signorina slingbacks click rhythmically (luckily not loud) on the pavement.

The enticing aroma of freshly ground coffee and buttery Viennoiseries grows stronger as you approach the cafeteria. You can feel your stomach now. Pausing at the entrance, you catch a glimpse of your reflection in the glass door. A small smile plays on your lips as you take in your appearance – the vibrant red dress, the chic shoes, the perfectly placed headband. You radiate confidence.

With a deep breath, savoring the medley of scents wafting from inside, you open the door.

Oh, I stumbled upon this pretty old money linen dress at &OtherStories, and trust me, you’re going to love it – no cap! The A-line silhouette paired with that round-cut neckline (although it looks like a halter neck to me) creates a mesmerizing combination that not only flatters your figure but also exudes a sense of pure grace.

Btw I will have to take it to my seamstress. Size 0 (EU32), runs too big for me – as expected. (My measurements are 73 with a push-up bra, 52, and 74.) But here’s the interesting twist – my dress (size 0) fits my mother like a dream, and she usually wears size 4 (EU34 / FR36). I guess this dress is not 100% true to its size. So perhaps, if you are in between two sizes, size down. Or take the size you get (that’s still on sale – btw this dress will sell out soon) and ask a seamstress to take it in.
