Want to wear a skirt even when it’s freezing? I’m showing you how

Feeling cold but don’t want to stick to jeans and pants all winter long? Guess what? You don’t have to. And no, I won’t write – grab those ugly thick tights, and off you go. No! You can wear your favourite skirt in winter without thick tights or pants under the skirt and not freeze while walking around in the cold. All you need are these two pieces. And the right skirt for winter, of course. Now scroll down to see how to wear and where to get the most stylish winter skirt and teddy coat of the season.

I get a commission for purchases or clicks made through links in this post.

Winter is too long for us to walk around dressed only in pants and jeans. Sure we love them. But not as nearly as we love skirts and dresses. Oh, that frill when we turn around! Doesn’t just feel amazing? So why save our favourite clothes in the wardrobe and wait for spring to wear them again? Because of the cold? No way!

I mean why would we when we can make the cold go away merely by choosing the right skirt for winter and style it with the right pieces. And no thick tights are not that piece that will save us from cold this winter.

Of course, it could if we wanted. But we don’t. At least not with every single skirt in our closet. Just with a tweed mini skirt

HOW TO WEAR SKIRT WHEN IT’S F* COLD

So how to wear a skirt when it’s freezing cold this winter, and you don’t want to wear pants, OTK boots or thick cotton and silk tights under the skirt?

There is something else apart from pants, over the knee boots and thick tights you can style with every skirt or dress that won’t downgrade your look. But make you feel warm even in the Siberian cold.

Yes, you guessed it. It’s your favourite coat of the season. Although not alone. You still need this one other piece.

Take a look at the fashion cheat sheet to find that other piece now. And keep reading to find out more about that particular piece.

TEDDY COAT

Starting with the essential piece of this winter outfit that will make you feel warm wearing skirt in the cold. The teddy coat. Or should I write your favourite winter coat?

I’m wearing Mango teddy coat (shop here). As said in my previous post (over here), this coat has a small defect. It likes to wrinkle. So if you are shopping at Mango, better get this one. Wrinkles are harder to be seen on a tan or brown coat than on a white coat.

WHITE COWBOY BOOTS

Mentioning the white Ganni cowboy boots. Good news! These fashionable cowboy boots are back in stock. And you can shop them here. But hurry! You don’t want some B* (brunette or blond obviously) steal it from under your nose, do you?

Ps. Once you get your pair of white cowboy boots, be sure to check how to style white booties when you are not wearing this outfit. Over there you will find 5 new fashion cheat sheets showing you 5 new ways to style your new white cowboy boots.

Oh, in case you get yourself a tan teddy coat, shop these Ganni cowboy boots. You know, to match the coat.

BLACK SWEATSHIRT

Finally, the second must-have piece that will make this winter outfit warm enough to fight the cold even though you are dressed in a skirt. The sweatshirt.

I bought this sweatshirt from Tommy Hilfiger (shop here) in Montreal once when I was freezing, and it has been my staple winter top ever since.

Not only it’s warm, and easy to put on (important information for all of you who tend to be late), it’s also easy to style. You can even wear it to work if you wear it under a black blazer. You can check how to wear sweatshirt for work next.

Oh, and also check this sweatshirt from Burberry.

PINK VELVET WINTER SKIRT

Lastly, the item that is actually the main reason why we are even talking about this topic. The winter skirt. Pardon a pink velvet skirt. With an emphasis on velvet this time.

Why velvet? Because it makes this midi pink pleated skirt the second warmest winter skirt in my closet. In short, if you want to feel extra warm in the cold, put on velvet skirt.

Ps. Check also how to style pleated skirt with OTK boots.

Whatsoever, velvet or not. While dressed in teddy coat and thick cotton sweatshirt I’m pretty sure the material of your skirt won’t matter much. Velvet, tweed, silk, suede, cotton or denim, you will feel warm in any skirt just by putting on a thick sweatshirt and a teddy coat over it. Ps. Check how to style a faux fur coat and boots with a mini white denim skirt.

So this is one way to fight the cold in your skirt. No, it’s not the only way. But it is one of the most sophisticated since we are not wearing thick tights, over the knee boots or pants under the skirt.

By the way, how do you wear skirts in winter? Do you even wear skirts when it’s freezing cold? Or do you put skirts in closets and wait for spring before you dress your favourite skirt again?
