I have realized it’s been a while since I shared my weekend style with you. You know, the one by which I step out of my style comfort zone and try on something completely different. Something that I swore I would never wear. So, given how fashionable the ugly boots, pardon the slouch boots, are this fall and the fact I said I could never wear them with a short skirt, I decided to do exactly this. And wear the slouchy boots with a short skirt.

THE SLOUCH

I know, I said I could never wear that ugly mid-calf high boots with a short skirt. But, fashion hell, these under the knee slouchy boots are the most fashionable boots right now. And I don’t even know who was the one who first fell in love with the slouch. I blame it on Saint Laurent, and their silver crystal embellished slouchy boots whatsoever.

In short everyone in fashion world talks about the slouchy boots this fall. So, yes, slouch boots are still in style in 2017. But not like when they were a staple part of your mother’s daily look. The slouchy boots are different now. Or better say, the slouchy boots outfits are different. Starting with being more fashionable and sophisticated. And not being a star of every outfit. To be clear, you can’t wear these boots with simply everything this fall. In fact, you can only wear them with 3 things.

SLOUCHY BOOTS AND MY WEEKEND STYLE

Before sharing how to wear the slouch this fall, a word or two about how I wore the slouchy boots this weekend.

As said, I decided to go for this look that is truly nothing like me. I mean, let’s be honest slouch boots are not the prettiest boots out there. No to say, they don’t actually flatter anyone. The slouch boots are nothing like the ankle boots or over the knee boots that make us look taller and thinner. Not to mention, more attractive.

Although, I know Carry Bradshaw would run down Manhattan in her slouch and a mini this year.

Anyway, even though I’m so anti slouch minded, I did purchase my first pair of the slouch boots. And that was right after I posted my fall shopping wish list. In fact, the slouchy boots were one of the first things I ordered from my list. By the way, if you missed the fall splurges I have planned for this fall, be sure to check the entire list of 225 things over here.

Yet, those slouch boots haven’t arrived yet. And me, being me, I simply couldn’t wait and decided to wear these fashionable boots anyway. Although with the fake slouch.

Yes, you guessed it right. I put on my old over the knee boots (the ones I also wore here, here and here) and simply slouched them.

DON’T WEAR MY WEEKEND STYLE

Given it’s the weekend, when I let myself pass the fashion line, I broke the rule of styling the slouch boots with either matching pants, the midi or the shortest mini you can get. And styled them like out mothers would in the 80s. With a short skirt. Although I decided to do at least one thing right and matched my skirt with the boots. So I once again put on my favourite suede skirt (the one I also wore here and here). And match it with a trench coat (last seen here).

Did it work? Well, surprisingly it did. Honestly, I didn’t believe I could pull off this look. But I did. Although, as said this is not the most fashionable way to wear slouch boots this season. Nor the most appealing. At least not to me. But it was fun wearing this outfit though. Yet it did feel like I was out of this world when walking down the streets of Ljubljana on a Saturday morning in the slouchy boots, suede skirt, and a trench.

CHIC

1# MINI AND SLOUCH

Even though this way might be the most challenging way to wear your slouch boots, there are only two rules here. #1 Wear slouch boots with bare legs. #2 Your mini must be very short. In short, so short that it covers only what it has to be covered.

POSH

2# MIDI AND SLOUCH

I think this will be my favorite outfit. For the most fashionable look possible wear your shiny slouch boots with a pleated midi skirt and the oversized sweater. Or even better, wear your suede slouch with a midi suede skirt and shearling jacket.

3# SLOUCHY BOOTS AND PANTS

This might look like the easiest way to wear the slouch boots. But it really isn’t. The rule here is only one, but you must follow it. Or you will look like a crazy girl who got lost on her way from the disco. In the 80s! To pull off this look, you must match the color of your boots with the colour of your pants. Furthermore, if you wear the leather pants, you must match the materials too. The safest bet here is surely to wear suede pants and suede slouch.

MORE SLOUCH AND MORE FASHION

Be sure to follow me on my Instagram to be the first one to see how I wear the legit slouch. Oh and don’t take the rules too seriously. Wearing slouchy boots should be fun. You know, the 80s vibes. Anyway, don’t forget to browse through the galleries to find out where to get the most beautiful slouchy boots this season. And if you like the boots, don’t hesitate too long. Because they are running out of stock faster than you can pull on your over the knee boots and slouch them. And you know you can do this pretty fast. By the way, what do you think about the slouch? Do you think this is a fashion trend to follow or pass? Surely you agree with me that these boots are the ugliest, don’t you?
