The Ultimate Dress Guide for Romantic Weekend Getaway
Thinking about your romantic weekend getaway and it’s Thursday? Or just looking for some romantic yet very fashionable and chic summer dresses? Either way, I have both for you this time! So, read, take notes and get ready for the most romantic weekend getaway you ever had. Well, depending on your boy of course. But you will have to find the guy to go with by yourself!
ROMANTIC WEEKEND GETAWAY DRESS GUIDE
Since the weekend, unfortunately, means only two days, I decided to share just 2 dresses I wore on my weekend to Rovinj. And no, my weekend, as romantic it looks in my photos, wasn’t filled with love but work instead. But then again I love my work.
Anyway, as said only 2 dresses I wore this time. But I made sure to add all the summer dresses you will need for your romantic weekend getaway to my little guide. Not that you will actually need more than 2 dresses on your romantic getaway. We all know you will spend most of your time in bikini and sheets anyway.
5 SUMMER DRESSES YOU NEED TO PACK FOR YOUR ROMANTIC WEEKEND GETAWAY
So what summer dresses should you pack for your weekend getaway then? Nothing but the most fashionable and romantic summer dresses of the season of course. And yes, fashionable and romantic is basically the same thing this summer. You know, romantic dresses are in style this summer.
So what to pack for your long romantic weekend by the sea?
Firstly, 2 summer dresses you can wear while exploring the city then a dress you can wear from beach to bar, a dress to wear for dinner and finally a dress you can live in. You will see what I mean.

#1 FRONT BUTTON DRESS
Starting with a basic front button midi dress, which is a must if you are spending your romantic weekend by the sea. Explaining to you why in my recent post over here. You can either get a cotton front button dress as I did or a denim dress.
My cotton front button midi dress is from Mango on SALE for only $59.99 (shop here). I styled it with Aquazzura sandals (shop similar Aquazzura sandals here) which turned out to be a bad choice to wear on the slippery paved streets of Rovinj. No, I didn’t fall but I probably would if I wore cheap high heel sandals instead of Aquazzura sandals.
#2 RUFFLED DRESS
Continuing with this slightly more romantic dress, I wore on my short getaway to Rovinj. You actually already know this dress, quite well since I wore it on my getaways last year as well. In Piran here, and an outdoor spa over here. Luckily it’s still in fashion. So I’m wearing it again. I styled my ruffled dress with Nannacay bag (shop here).
You certainly don’t want your guy to get diabetes after seeing you in too many sweet floral dresses, do you? Ha, just fooling since I wore a striped cotton dress. But I would love to wear all these floral dresses too. If only I had more time. Next time, then!
#3 KAFTAN
I already wrote about the outfit you can wear from beach to bar since you can’t enter the bar in a bikini anymore. If you read that post, then you know kaftan is one of them. Since kaftan is in fashion this summer, you should pack it for your weekend getaway too.
Don’t worry about looking like a grandma in a kaftan. You surely won’t look like that in any of these kaftans. The kaftans I found for you and added to the gallery below are sexy, chic and fashionable.
#4 SHEER LACE DRESS
Now to your dinner dress. No, I couldn’t help my self not adding dresses of my favourite brand. Self-Portrait obviously. Not sure if I mentioned already, but when you are looking for the most beautiful and romantic dresses, there are actually only 2 brands you need to look at. Self-Portrait and Zimmermann. Surely you can get a similar copy on a budget, but it will be just a copy. And not the quality dress. The lace should be fine, not flouncy. But thinking again, we are talking about a romantic getaway. And if you want to have your own Fifty shades of grey scenes, then the quality of your dress doesn’t even matter. Because it will end in pieces anyway.
#5 SLIP DRESS
Last but as you can expect not least the slip dress. The dress you will probably live in on your romantic getaway. That is if you won’t get out of your room for the entire weekend. Which would be too bad, especially if you are going to this charming little seaside town in Croatia as I did for this post.
Then again, you can wear a slip dress anywhere this season. In fact, you can wear it straight from the bed, to the street and everywhere else. But see. I can’t imagine swimming in this dress. Mentioning swimming, be sure to check my swim shopping list here and all the swimwear fashion trends here.
