And no I don’t mean bread in a paper bag. Although you must admit the paper bag in my hand does make this heatwave outfit legit for a hot day in the city.

Since we are already sweating because of the heatwave, the first heatwave for us in Ljubljana, actually, I thought you would love to find out what I wear to look put together during a heatwave. Yes, I too struggle with the heat. And being skinny doesn’t save me from sweating and feeling like a mess once the sun heats the concrete in the city.

But this heatwave outfit and deodorant do help me a little bit. Well, at least they make me look put together when everyone else struggles with sticky clothes all day long.

WHAT TO WEAR DURING A HEATWAVE

I already wrote about what to wear when it gets really hot a few weeks ago. When I wore the red romper and slides, remember? But since I was on my holidays back then, looking put together didn’t even matter to me as long as my clothes didn’t stick to my body.

However, I’m back in the city now and will probably stay here during the entire heatwave, so feeling put together matters. And if it matters to me, it must certainly matter to you too, right? I mean living through the heat is difficult by itself already. You don’t need to make it worse by feeling like you are a melting scoop of ice cream in a cone. Well, yes that is how I would feel if I wasn’t wearing this white outfit.

3 THINGS YOU NEED TO LOOK PUT TOGETHER IN THE SUMMER

So how to look put together in summer? What to wear to look good and comfortable while everyone is struggling with sticky clothes?

The answer is quite simple. Anything white, tailored and short that you can put on and take off quickly. And no, it’s not a little white dress this time.

We wore the little white dress during the first heatwave already. Besides, a dress, if not flouncy, often ends up glued to your body anyway.

The 3 things you need to look put together in the summer are white shorts, tailored shorts to be exact, a white sweater and a deodorant. Well, you might want to get a fan too.

WHITE TAILORED SHORTS

First, the white tailored shorts. Well, it can be any colour of shorts actually, as long as they are tailored and not too short. But we all know that white is the best colour option for the heat since it doesn’t absorb the light but reflects it back.

WOOL WHITE SWEATER

Wool in summer? You must think I’m crazy. If you forgot about the fact that wool actually evaporates moister and it doesn’t hold smells. Surely the last isn’t a problem if you use the right deodorant.

DEODORANT

In short, deodorant is a must. If Marilyn Monroe once said she feels naked without a drop of perfume, I can say the same for deodorant. Whatsoever, not every deodorant will do. I only trust in these 2 deodorants.
