No matter the size of the bag you are carrying around there are 6 things you need to put in your bag now!

6 THINGS EVERY BUSINESSWOMAN NEEDS TO CARRY IN HER SMALL BAG

PHONE

There is not much to say here. Only, one thing. Don’t buy the bag if it doesn’t fit your phone. Believe me, there is nothing worse than having a hard time getting your phone out of your small bag.

BUSINESS CARDS

Back then, before I became an entrepreneur myself, I hated my father always being so nerdy about his business cards. He kept saying he needs new ones. And he was right. Having business cards with you all the time in your bag is perhaps even more important than carrying around your phone. You never know when you meet somebody that can change your life. You certainly want him to remember you, right?

KEYS

Whatever keys, as long as they open the right doors. I learned this from my roommate who had a stock of the key cards back when we were living in the student dorm in Montreal. I didn’t get why she needed so many keys at first, but I figure it out quite fast. And Chanel, in case you are reading this, you were always right about, well, literally about everything.

HANDKERCHIEF

No, you don’t need to have a handkerchief in your bag for wiping your tears and blowing your nose in case you don’t make a deal or even worse lose your job. Why then? Simply because carrying around your loose powder and a lipstick takes more space than a thin pack of tissues. I mean why to chose between powder, lipstick, and concealer if one handkerchief can solve your an entire makeup situation.

CASH

This on goes for me. Because you won’t find cash in my small bag. Perhaps you could find a coin or two at the bottom of my big tote bag. As a matter of fact, I think I noticed few coins on the security screen at the airport yesterday, but I’m quite sure I couldn’t find if I looked for them now.

Honestly, you won’t find cash in my purse either. Well, at least not in the right currency. I guess I still haven’t learned my lesson after all that awkward situations with my drivers. You know what I mean. Fake Uber and taxi drivers who won’t take credit cards or haven’t heard of the Apple Pay yet and want cash from you. Of the side, I paid my driver, the fake Uber, in Canadian Dollars the other day in Paris. Luckily I haven’t ditched it off my purse yet and been carrying them around for the last three years. Who would thought they will come handy in Europe one day.

NAIL FILE

If you don’t wear gloves, of course. Because gloves solve everything. Your nails, too. And not, my nails are not the reason I almost always wear gloves. Anyway, you need to put a nail file in your small bag now. Surely you don’t want to shake hands with anyone while after you broke your nail. I mean so embarrassing. You know what they say, you are as good to your business as you are to your nails.

WRAPPING UP

Even though I started with three and ended up with six, as I kept adding new things to the list of all the most important things a successful woman should have in her small bag, I’m sure there are 4 things you should always have in your bag. To put it short, all you need is your phone, business cards, keys, and handkerchief. Luckily your phone can replace pretty much everything. And yes, I still believe it can replace cash, too. About the nail file, well this is why gloves are made for.

Ps. If you are looking for a beautiful small bag, there are bags similar to the one I’m wearing in the photos here. Be sure to browse through the post to find my favourite small bags of the season. In case you missed my blog post on latest fashion trends, the bag of the season is a white small bag. And the pink bag, of course.
