I know, it’s Wednesday and you were expecting to see and read the follow up of the spring summer fashion trend report. But we have a wedding situation here. So first things first! It happens that I have received an urgent call from one of my friends who is getting married next Wednesday at the city hall. Just like that with no fuss, in between the lunch break. And she has no idea what to wear.

Luckily, I was thinking ahead and actually already planned to publish an outfit you can wear for a wedding at the city hall. So here it is!

Ps. This will not be my Wednesday wedding outfit though.

MY DREAMY WEDNESDAY WEDDING

Believe it or not, my dream wedding will be small. I mean my dream civil wedding will be small. Small and secret – secret Wednesday wedding at the city hall in Paris. I have this perfect scenery already in my head.

He saying me “Let’s get married” as we are standing on Point du Alexandre at midnight under the stars. And the next morning we rush to Maison Dior where we get ready for our wedding. I get my dreamy tulle dress (you know that dress Dior dress) and get my makeup done by Peter Philips. While he gets his black Dior tuxedo. Then a driver picks me up, and I rush to the city hall where he is already waiting for me. We say “Oui” and … Well, my dream wedding plan stops here. Surely, I have more than enough time to plan all the details. Whereas my friend, well she is in a rush.

WHAT TO WEAR TO CITY HALL WEDDING

As her, Wednesday Wedding day is almost here, she is running out of time to get the perfect wedding dress. A wedding dress that she could not only wear for her city hall wedding but for work as well. Luckily she is a boss, so her Wednesday wedding white dress is something she will be able to wear after the wedding as well. Remember I wrote about white being reserved only for the boss lady?

WHO SAYS YOU CAN’T WEAR YOUR DREAM WEDDING DRESS FOR WEDNESDAY WEDDING AT CITY HALL?

Anyway, even though you are getting married in the city hall, on Wednesday, between the lunch break, there is no reason why you shouldn’t get your dream wedding dress. Surely, a long tulle wedding gown is out of the question, but this doesn’t mean you can’t wear tulle for your Wednesday wedding at the city hall. Or at least tulle-ish, oh dear this is not even a word, but I’m sure you know what I mean. Because you can well see what dress I have in mind.

DREAMY, ROMANTIC, SOPHISTICATED YET WORK READY

It’s this dress that I’m wearing in the photos here. In front of the City Hall in Ljubljana and on the Cobblers’ bridge. By the way, I’m standing on this bridge for a reason. There is this song, called Over the Cobblers’ Bridge (Čez Šuštarski most), saying a groom takes his bride over this bridge to the city hall where they wed.

Anyway, back to this little white dress that I’m wearing while pretending I just ran away from my wedding in the city hall. Well, that would be a thing! Ps. Don’t tell my future fiancee, but the runaway bride is one of my dream wedding scenarios as well.

Again, back to the dress. It’s actually a pleated dress, but these light pleats look like a delicate tulle from a distance. A perfect substitute for a tulle when you have to go back to your work after your wedding, don’t you think? So where to get the dress I’m wearing?

Well, I guess I should have written my Wednesday work dress above. Still, we are talking about weddings and this little white dress would be a perfect wedding dress for a city hall wedding. Especially if you have to go back to work after you say I do!

WHITE BLAZER

Chances you will need to wear a blazer for your Wednesday wedding this May are high even though you don’t have to go back to work after you sign your wedding papers. By the way, before you start panicking when you see rain in the forecast on your wedding day, let me tell you that rain on your wedding day means wealth and prosperity in your marriage. Besides you need to wear a blazer for your Wednesday wedding at city hall anyway.

Yes, a white blazer above your wedding dress is a must if you head back to work after the wedding. Especially if you want to keep your little stop at the city hall as a secret. Still, be sure to fix your lipstick and dab your mouth before you go back to the office. Smashed lipstick and a cake on your nose and lips will give you away before the dress does.

Back to the blazer. I’m wearing a tailored white blazer with one golden button from Juicy Couture. Unfortunately not on sale anymore. But I found a similar single breasted white blazer on a budget (here) and luxury, Balmain of course (here).

WORK OR WEDDING SHOES

Funny thing, almost every bride thinks the wedding dress is the most important thing about her wedding outfit. Surely you see the dress first, but the most important thing stays hidden under the wedding gown. Well not so hidden if you are wearing a short wedding dress. Whatsoever, hidden or not, the wedding shoes are the most important part of your wedding outfit.

And no, not because your dream day would be less dreamy if your feet start hurting you before the wedding kiss. But because you will have to rush back to work afterward. You don’t want to be late for work, do you?

Obviously, you can’t wear your ordinary business tote for a wedding even though you are getting wed during the lunch break at the city hall. A small white shoulder bag is a far better choice. Besides, you can still put in your small shoulder bag all you need for work and a wedding. Ps. Check what to always keep in your purse.

Ha, nothing borrowed on me. But I added something borrowed, well second-handed actually in the gallery for you. Surely, asking your friends or women in your family to borrow you something for your wedding is out of an option if you want your wedding to stay a secret.
