17 Beauty Products You Should Always Have in Your Cosmetic Bag
Products you should buy when starting a skincare routine
List of beauty products that should be in your essential capsule cosmetic bag here! Yes, here’s what should be in your capsule beauty bag – all the beauty products you should be using for your face every day to make it look fresh and glowing. And all the beauty products you should buy when starting a skincare routine from the beginning. Suppose you have acne-prone skin or sensitive, dry skin like me, dry skin like my mom, or oily skin like my sister, of course. Well, truth to be told, even if your skin is Instagram perfect, you might still need all these beauty products. After all, this skincare capsule bag can be applied to every skin type. That said, now scroll down to see what beauty product to put in your cosmetic bag.
But first, let me answer two of your most common questions!
First, you need to build a capsule beauty bag. Second, you need to start using all the beauty products from your capsule cosmetic bag daily. Remember, to build a routine; you need to stick to it. Ps. Don’t forget to consult with your dermatologist.
The first things you should buy when starting a skincare routine are face cleanser, lotion, serum, face moisturizer, face cream, spf face cream. After that, you should also get an eye cream, face mask, face peeling and beauty gadgets
The best beauty capsule bag contains face cleaners, lotion, serum, face moisturizer, face cream, spf face cream, eye cream, face mask, face peeling, 70 % alcohol, topical gel, antibiotic, cream for faster healing, pommade, and beauty gadgets.
WHAT’S IN MY COSMETIC BAG?
After sharing my packing checklist with only a “capsule beauty bag” written on it and not the entire list of all the beauty products you should pack for the holidays, many of you asked me, what is in my capsule beauty bag. Furthermore, what should you put in your cosmetic bag when going on vacation. And how to build a capsule beauty bag for your face.
Therefore I’m finally revealing what’s in my capsule cosmetic bag – all the beauty products I use for my face every day to make it look fresh and glowing.
Admittedly, your skin might not need all the beauty products I use and keep in my skincare capsule bag. But it might. And when it does, you will be grateful you put that beauty product in your cosmetic bag when leaving on vacation, too.
WHAT BEAUTY PRODUCTS TO PUT IN CAPSULE COSMETIC BAG?
In these 5 cosmetic bags are more or less all the beauty products I use every day. I purchased these 5 beauty gift bags and only added the beauty products from my capsule beauty checklist (see on the capsule cosmetic checklist below) that weren’t in any of these skincare bags already.
Ps. I put all the beauty products that I use in the pink cosmetic bag that was part of the Dior Hydra Life skincare set. That cosmetic bag is big enough for my capsule cosmetic bag.
Admittedly, I don’t know if the beauty products I currently use are the best beauty products that you can buy online. Still, they sure are the best beauty products for acne-prone sensitive skin I have tried.
Obviously, you don’t need to splurge on the same beauty brand as I do, but you sure need to include all these beauty products to your daily skincare routine – regardless of your skin type.
Scroll down to find what other, apart from the Dior beauty products I use and I got inside the gift bags that are linked above; you could also put in your capsule beauty bag.
By the way, this blog post wasn’t sponsored by Dior. I genuinely love Dior skincare and use more or less only Dior skincare products.

PUT THESE BEAUTY PRODUCTS IN YOUR CAPSULE BEAUTY BAG AND BUILD THE BEST SKINCARE ROUTINE FROM BEGINNING
Now here’s the beauty capsule bag checklist, with all the things you need when building the best skincare routine; when building an essential capsule beauty bag.
SKINCARE BEAUTY CAPSULE BAG CHECKLIST
1 CLEANSER
The first thing you need when building a skincare routine and the most important thing in your capsule beauty bag is a cleanser. Or better write cleansers. If you want to have a beautiful glowing acne-free face, you will probably need more than just one face cleanser. Especially if you wear makeup everyday.
Here are all the cleansers you need when building the best beauty capsule bag.
MAKEUP WIPES
First, the makeup wipes. Makeup wipes are the best makeup remover ever invented. They remove all the makeup in less than a minute. Admittedly makeup wipes have a bad reputation because of all the strong, drying chemicals they used to contain. Well, some still do. But trust me, makeup wipes are not as bad anymore. At least not as bad as you might remember. Ps. My dermatologist agrees about that too.
Anyway, I found these great makeup wipes from Nivea (NIVEA MicellAir Rose Water Wipes) and Shiseido Refreshing Cleansing Sheets (buy here) that don’t cause me inflammation or irritation. Also, PIXI Makeup Melting Cleansing Cloths (buy here).
If you find Shiseido cleansing sheets, Pixi makeup melting cleansing cloth and Nivea makeup wipes to harsh for your sensitive skin, yet you wish to give one last try to the makeup wipes, try these wipes next. Yes, baby wipes. My dermatologist has a batch of baby wipes (when she doesn’t have makeup wipes) in her clinic for her patients to remove the makeup when we come to visit her, too.
By the way, I always rinse off my face after removing the makeup with makeup wipes. I always do the triple cleanse when I wear makeup and the double cleanse in the morning or when I wear no makeup.
CLEANSING BALM
The second cleanser I always use is Dior Prestige Cleansing Balm (buy here EU/UK – buy here US/CAD). This cleanser is oil-based – it transforms into a silky oil that melts any impurities and makeup.
It’s the first cleanser I use when I do the double wash. And the second cleanser when I do the triple wash.
Ps. This cleanser takes a lot of space, so make sure you get a big cosmetic bag. And no, you don’t need to worry about breaking the glass jar when travelling. It won’t break.
However, be sure not to put this cleansing balm into your hand luggage if you are travelling by plane. I did it once and had to buy a new Dior cleansing balm in the duty-free shop. No, it didn’t pass the airport security. I can still remember how sad that lady who had to ditch my Dior Prestige Cleansing Balm was. She was actually even more upset than me. I’m not surprised, though. Dior Prestige Cleansing Balm is, for sure, the most precious beauty product in my capsule beauty bag. And the most essential also.
Ps. If you can only afford one thing, make sure it’s Dior Prestige Cleansing Balm. This cleansing balm leaves my skin as soft as the rose. After cleaning my face with Dior Prestige Cleansing Balm, my face feels soft, supple and comfortable. Frankly, I wouldn’t need to include any other beauty product into my daily routine. Not even the face cream.
But I do it anyways. Scroll down to see what other beauty products are in my beauty capsule bag.
MOUSSE CLEANSER
The second/third cleanser I use is Dior Hydra Life Lotion to foam – fresh cleanser (buy here EU/UK – buy here US/CAD).
You have no idea how deeply clean and purified my face feels after washing it with this mousse cleanser. This face cleanser is with no doubt a must have in summer or after an intense workout.
2 70 % ALCOHOL
Yes, I keep a bottle of 70 % alcohol in my capsule cosmetic bag. Obviously not for drinking but for disinfecting my face. Even though many women with acne-prone skin stray away from using any beauty products that contain alcohol, I spritz my face with 70 % alcohol every day, after the double/triple wash. My dermatologist says this is ok since alcohol doesn’t dry my skin.
Ps. Even if you have no intention to spritz your face with 70 % alcohol, make sure you put a small bottle of alcohol into your capsule cosmetic bag – to disinfect tweezers (if you follow the latest brow trend) and hands before touching your face.
3 ANTIBIOTIC
If you have acne prone skin like me, or if you scratch your skin way too often, then you need an antibiotic as well. I use Clindamycin toner and Fusidic acid cream. I use an antibiotic after spritzing my face with alcohol – if I have active acne or a scratch, of course.
4 LOTION
While you can decide not to put alcohol and antibiotic into your capsule beauty bag, be sure not to forget the lotion. Face lotion is an essential part of a basic skincare routine. Especially, if you don’t use Dior Prestige Cleansing Balm like me.
I currently use Diorsnow Essence of Light Brightening Micro-Infused Lotion (buy here) that also comes inside the skincare bag I mentioned above. Diorsnow Essence of Light Brightening Micro-Infused Lotion is my no. 1 favourite lotion.
5 SERUM
If you want your skincare routine to be the best and get the most of all the beauty products from your capsule beauty bag, you need a serum, too. I know, not something we thought is an essential part of a capsule cosmetic bag, but it really is.
There are many serums that I love and use – all from Dior apparently. I usually use Diorsnow Essence of Light Brightening Milk Serum (buy here EU/UK – buy here US/CAD) in summer and One Essential Skin Boosting Super Serum (buy here EU/UK – buy here US/CAD) in winter. I use all the other serums from the widget above throughout the year – depending on my skin situation. But all in all, One Essential Skin Boosting Super Serum (buy here EU/UK – buy here US/CAD) is my serum on the go.
6 EYE CREAM
You should have already known my favourite eye cream. But just in case you haven’t read all about the eye care products that help with sore eyes – here’s my favourite eye cream. The best eye cream I have ever tried is Dior Prestige The Eye Concentrate (buy here EU/UK – buy here US/CAD).
Ps. If you can’t afford to splurge on the entire jar (indeed even though worthy of it, it’s quite expensive) you can buy just a refill – here EU/UK and here US/CAD.
7 FACE MOISTURIZER
Another thing from my capsule beauty bag you should have also already known is my favourite face moisturizer. Well, three actually.
I use DIOR HYDRA LIFE Hydration rescue intense sorbet creme (CAD/USA buy here – Europe/UK buy here).
DIOR HYDRA LIFE Fresh Hydration Sorbet Crème (EU/UK buy here – CAD/US buy here).
And my favourite, Diorsnow brightening cream (buy here USA/CAD – buy here EUROPE/UK).
8 FACE CREAM
Apart from face moisturizer, you should include a face cream to your beauty capsule bag, too. You can add my favourite face cream. It’s Dior Prestige La Crème Texture Riche (buy here USA/CAD – buy here UK/EU). Ps. You can save some money by purchasing only a refill (here America – here Europe).
9 SPF FACE CREAM
If my cosmetic bag was big enough for only two things, an SPF face cream would be the second thing I would put in.
By the way, can you guess which of these two sunscreen creams I would put in my beauty bag if I had to choose only one? As you know, I use both.
10 DIOR DREAMSKIN
11 FACE MASK
If you want to bring an everyday skincare routine to the spa level – get UFO. UFO (find out more about UFO here) is a new generation of face masks that leave your skin simply stunning. And what is more, it’s small enough to fit any cosmetic bag.
12 LIP SCRUB
13 PEELING & EXFOLIATOR
While I only use a peeling, face scrub or exfoliator once in a while, it’s still there in my beauty capsule bag. Admittedly, many believe a peeling, exfoliator or face scrub is one of the products you should buy when starting a skincare routine.
Anyway, consider buying a gentle peeling if you have acne-prone skin. I like Polaar Arctic Cotton Gentle Scrub (buy here). Another good peeling is The Organic Pharmacy Enzyme Peel Mask with Vitamin C and Papaya (buy here) – but make sure you are not allergic to fruit acid.
By the way, my favourite face scrub is Dior Prestige Rose Sugar Scrub (buy here).
My sister who has oily skin swears by UpCircle Coffee Face Scrub Herbal Blend For Oily And Combination Skin (buy here).
14 BEPANTEN POMMADE
15 BEPHANTOL CREAM
16 TOPICAL GEL
Even if you have picture-perfect Instagram skin or outgrown acne ages ago, you might need Azelaic acid or some sort of topical gel one day. Besides, it only takes a little space in a cosmetic bag.
Here are some topical gels that actually do their job. Even so, be careful with these. Don’t use any topical gel all over your face or you will do more harm than good. A topical gel is good only to relieve one acne at a time. If you have a face covered with acne or a nose full of pimples, better see a dermatologist and get a laser acne treatment. Laser acne therapy is the best thing if you want to get rid of acne.
By the way, I also use Zalna and Skinoren (together with Clindamycin, of course).
17 TWEEZERS AND BEAUTY GADGETS
The last thing to put in your capsule beauty bag is tweezers. And needles, maybe. I have them both in my capsule beauty bag.
I also have Foreo Luna (buy here), Foreo Espada (buy here), Foreo Iris (buy here) and Foreo Bear (buy here). But more about my favourite beauty gadgets another time.
MORE CAPSULE CABINETS AND SKINCARE MUST-HAVES
As said, these are just some essential products you should buy when starting a skincare routine. Beauty products you should always keep somewhere with you – best in a cosmetic bag. All packed and ready to take them with you wherever you go. Admittedly there are a few beauty products more you need for home pampering. And a few more beauty products that would look great in your capsule cabinet. But more about that another time. Up next: must have body products.
