SPRING SUMMER 2018 COLOURS THAT ARE STILL IN FASHION FOR AUTUMN WINTER 2018/19
So what colours you wore last season are still in fashion for autumn winter 2018/19? Don’t get too excited. Even though there are yellows, lilac and earthy shades in both colour reports, in the SS 2018 and AW 2018/19, we are not talking about the same colours. No, if you take a closer look, you will see that the shades are different.
Nevertheless, there is blue. Palace Blue is still in fashion but as Nebulas Blue. Also, there are 4 classic colours from the last season that are still in fashion for fall winter 2018/19. However, they got a new name. Warm Sand is Almond Buff now, Coconut Milk is Tofu, and Harbor Mist is called Quiet Gray at the moment. Lastly, the Sailor Blue. Sailor Blue is the Sargasso Sea this season. And silver. Silver is still fashionable too. In fact, it became one of the classic colours.
Ha, I’m surprised no one came up with a new name for black and white. Well, perhaps I shouldn’t be. Since everyone chic is wearing brown, pardon Meerkat, instead of black now.
Mentioning Meerkat, it’s about time we head one Fall Winter 2018/19 Color Report.
Ps. Be sure to save, pin and print all the colour cheat sheets. You know, to remind you that fashion comes in colours. Also, be sure to swipe through the widgets to shop the items in this season’s most fashionable colours. You can shop straight from the reports too. Just click inside the pink frames.
COLOURS OF AUTUMN WINTER 2018/19
As said by the Pantone Colour Institute, autumnal colours for AW 2018/19 are here to evoke the playfulness on the one side and the feeling or leaves on the forest floor on the other side.
So what are these season’s most fashionable colors? The colour palette for Fall Winter 2018/19 might surprise you. No, there is no classic burgundy. The autumnal palette is bold, rich and mostly unexpected. Especially when we talk about the classic colours and neons. Yes, neons! AW 2018/19 is the neon season.
NEONS – THE IT COLOURS OF AUTUMN WINTER 2018/19
Even though the colour palette for Autumn Winter 2018/19 is composed by more than a dozen different shades, there are only 4 colours that you will be seeing everywhere this season. And yes, they are neon colours.
LIMELIGHT – NEON YELLOW
Limelight is the new name for neon yellow. A bright, animated and effervescent acid yellow-green that will put you in the centre of attention everywhere.
The color of the year for 2018. Honestly, I don’t see why they picked ultra violet as the colour of the year for 2018 if we are going to wear it only in the second half of the year.
I must admit, orange is not one of my favourite colours. But when it comes to the Russet Orange, I quickly forget it’s orange I’m seeing. This forest floor orange not only speaks to earthen warmth but also to brighten the room and bring playfulness.
PINK PEACOCK – NEON BARBIE PINK
Pink Peacock is the most surprising colour of the season for sure. It is made of 2 different shades. The bold dramatic pink that you see here and bright neon Barbie pink. Yes, there are actually 2 different shades of pink we can see. And all of them are in style now. Also, this same colour will be in fashion for SS 19 too. Even the name will stay the same!
Nebulas blue is one of my favourite colour for autumn winter 2018/19. Well, I’m pretty sure you already know this since you keep seeing me wearing my new nebulas blue pumps. Ps. In case you somehow missed them, be sure to go here to see how I wear this stunning shade of blue with leopard print.
Ps. Nebulas blue is a must have colour to shop this season. Because guess what? It will be in fashion for spring summer 2019 too. I told you those Gianvito Rossi nebulas blue pumps are an investment. Anyway, more about colours that are here to stay for the next season a bit later. We still have so many fashionable colors to see.
Surprisingly forest floor in autumn winter 2018/19 doesn’t come in golden shades. This year forest floor means green hues with spicy yellow and orange.
Ceylon Yellow is savoury and spicy yellow which adds an exotic touch to the Fall Winter 2018/19 colour palette.
Remember this colour? Yes, it’s the same colour we wore last year. The only thing different in 2018 is its name. So, yes, you can still wear all those clothes and shoes in Shaded Spruce you wore last year. Just make sure you say you are wearing Quetzal Green this time.
Mentioning the Russet Orange again as it is not only the most important neon colour of the season but also part of the forest floor palette. Ps. Russet Orange goes well with the leopard print too.
Thinking better, the jewel colour palette is my favourite colour palette for autumn winter 2018/19. Not only it consists of my favourite autumnal colours, the Nebulas blue, Quetzal Green and Pink Peacock, it also goes well with the animal print. In case you missed, I have written about this colour matching over here.
Anyway, not to repeat everything about the jewel colours all over again, since they come in other palettes too, I’m only adding my favourite items in the jewel tones. Keep reading to find out more about Valiant Poppy and Red Pear.
Don’t get me wrong, we are wearing pastels in fall too. But winter pastels merely sound better. Besides, there is nothing more charming than wearing pastels in winter for me. Remember my winter picnic in the snow blizzard? I was wearing pastels back then, and I’m wearing pastels for my winter picnic 2018/19 too.
Another of my favourite colors of the season. This beautiful shade of lilac adds a light and airy spring-like feeling demand, don’t you think?
Mellow Rose is a popular traditional English shade that adds unexpected intrigue. Doesn’t look like rose gold without the metallic shine? Or millennial rose we loved so much two seasons ago? Seems like I will be wearing my rose sneakers again this season.
Not one of the official autumn winter 2018/19 colours. But since everyone chic wears pastel blue on the streets right now, I’m adding pastel blue to my AW 2018/19 color report too. Besides, it’s so 70s.
70s SHADES OF BROWN
Mentioning the 70s, AW 2018/19 is a homecoming for 70s shades of brown. Moreover, brown is the new black this season. Plus, Brown is going to be fashionable for spring summer 2019 too.
Ps. More about brown becoming the new black – soon on Brunette from Wall Street.
This is actually supposed to be a green shade, but I see it brown. Whatsoever, this smooth, sophisticated and urbane brown green adds depth to the Fall/Winter 2018/19 palette.
Finally, my favourite colour of the season. The reason why I love this toasty burnished brown so much? Because it goes well with everything. Even with the leopard print. Writing of which, I just remembered I haven’t shown you how to wear leopard print dress with meerkat slouchy boots yet. Don’t worry, showing you how next week. Meanwhile, be sure to check how to wear meerkat OTK boots here.
RED PEAR – OXBLOOD
It’s more red than brown at first glance but, I’m listing it among 70s browns nonetheless. Ps. This is another colour from the Fall Winter 2018/19 Color Report that will be in fashion for SS 2019. Although with a new name. We will call it Jester Red in a few months time. Well for me this colour is the good old oxblood.
Pantone says this is brave and outgoing red shade effusive in its allure. What do you think about valiant poppy? Do you like it?
Lastly the classic colours. Which are, as said before, everything but classic.
Sargasso Sea is actually the Sailor Blue you wore only a few weeks ago. Your favourite summer classic colour is could well be your favourite colour this season. That is if you don’t fall in love with the Meerkat more.
Tofu or better write Coconut Milk is the creamy white staple. Especially for the sweaters. By the way, be sure to browse through the widget below to see that beautiful cashmere sweater in tofu.
Previously called Warm Sand. Almond Buff is natural baby camel hue that will remind you of the beach during the snow blizzard.
QUIET GRAY – SILVER
Quiet Gray is actually Harbor Mist from SS 2018. This soft grey is unabatedly a must have for this season. Especially when it comes with a metallic glow. Yes, Quiet Gray is the shade of silver everyone chic wears now.
I told you brown is the new black twice before. But mentioning again. There is a good reason why Meerkat is one of the classic colours for autumn winter 2018/19. Telling you why the next time.
BUY NOW WEAR NOW AND LATER – COLOURS THAT WILL BE IN FASHION FOR SS 2019
I already mentioned some of the colours that are in fashion now and will be in fashion for the next season too. Again, these are the colours we will be wearing for the next 10 months.
Nebulas Blue (or Princess Blue in SS 19), Pink Peacock (same color and same name in the next season too), Russet Orange (named Turmeric the next season). Furthermore, there is Red Pear or Jester Red in SS 2019.
