Since it’s already Thursday, I bet you are already thinking about where he will take you on a date this weekend. And picking the outfit, you could wear for your romantic date, of course. No, I don’t have an outfit you could actually wear to a romantic date for you this time. No, no. Once for a change, I’m writing about what not to wear for a date in the most romantic place in the world. Yes, this time it’s all about what not to wear for a date in the mountains above the lake Bled, the most romantic place in the world.
Remember how I wrote (here) you can wear this outfit, this gorgeous blue Self-Portrait lace dress, with a pair of sandals and denim jacket to any romantic date? Seriously, any date? No matter where and when he is taking? Well, it turns out I was wrong back then.
DATE IN THE MOUNTAINS? WELL NOT IN THIS OUTFIT
It turned out that you can’t wear this outfit as it is, with a pair of killer heels and a long lace dress, to a date in the most romantic place in the world. To the mountains above dreamy Bled. Because those killer heels and the long lace dress can kill you. Seriously!

WHO TAKES HIS GIRLFRIEND ON A DATE IN THE MOUNTAINS?
Don’t look like that, I haven’t been on a date in the mountains before writing this guide. Obviously, I knew you can’t wear a dress and heels when going to the mountains, not even if you are going out on a date.
But I just haven’t thought any boy would actually take his girlfriend on a date to the mountains. I mean perhaps with a helicopter, but certainly not by foot. Hence I haven’t thought well before declaring this outfit, this lace dress and sandals as the ultimate date outfit.
Whatsoever, as said that was what I thought about a date in the mountains until recently. I changed my mind about a date in the mountains when I visited Bled the other day. The most romantic place in the world, with a lake and island on it and surrounded by the Alps for the first time.
WHAT NOT TO WEAR FOR A DATE IN THE ALPS
Anyway, since I came to realise that mountains can actually be a perfect place for a romantic date. Especially when hours of walking, climbing even, and seeing nothing but rocks and a few mountain flowers you can’t pick and tuck behind your ear, end up in a place like this spot above Bled. After enjoying this stunning view onto the lake Bled, that little island in the middle of the lake Bled and mountains surrounding it, I decided to write an update on my previous post.
MORE DATE OUTFIT INSPIRATIONS AND MORE ABOUT BLED
Just like I said, you can’t wear this outfit for a romantic date in the mountains. Because, believe me, if you do so, your date won’t end up romantically. And no, I’m afraid it won’t end up with you waking up after getting a kiss from your boyfriend. No matter how romantical Bled is, and no matter how beautiful you are, this is not a fairytale, and you are not a Sleeping Beauty.
I hate ending up this post in this way. But I feel I have to. There are so many tragical accidents happening in the mountains every single year because people go to the hills dressed entirely inappropriate. And it’s my duty to address this problem.
Don’t worry. As mentioned before I will make sure your romantic date in the mountains gets a fairytale ending and you look like a princess on that romantic date. A following post with the perfect outfit to wear for your romantic date in the mountains is coming up on Brunette from Wall Street shortly. As well as a special post in which I’m sharing the EDIT – a fashion cheat sheet for this look and all about how come I ended up wearing this Self-Portrait dress and Stuart Weitzman sandals up here in the mountains.
