2020 VALENTINE’S DAY PICNIC IN THE SNOW

Guess what? We might get snow for Valentine’s Day. So much snow that we could export it to Winnipeg, build a snowman and even have a proper picnic in the snow. Oh yes, a picnic in the snow is a thing. And if you ask me, the picnic queen, a winter picnic in the snow is the most romantic Valentine’s Day date idea for 2020. As long as there is enough snow and you know how to dress for a picnic in the snow, of course.

Well, I can’t guarantee you snow but I can sure show you a chic winter picnic outfit that you can wear for a 2020 Valentine’s Day picnic in the snow. What snowstorm, a blizzard! Just in the case, you have a slightly crazy guy, who might take you out to sit on the picnic blanket in a blizzard instead of a proper chair in some fancy restaurant this Valentine’s Day.

WHAT TO WEAR FOR A WINTER PICNIC IN SNOW

Indeed, a winter picnic in the snow can be fun and quite romantic. All those snowflakes are dancing in the air and tickling your nose. For sure this is the best 2020 romantic winter Valentine’s Day Date idea. At least for the guys who always dress waterproof and warm enough for the snow.

But what should a girl wear for a snowy Valentine’s Day winter picnic this year? Not this outfit that I’m wearing here, for sure. No, this is not something you should wear for a picnic in the snow. Especially not if you will be sitting on the snow and wool picnic blanket. But still, the way I styled my puffer jacket and jeans is worthy of scrolling down and saving the fashion cheat sheet of this winter picnic outfit.

Besides, I also added an alternative to my jeans and sneakers – in the same colour, so that you could recreate my look and wear this winter picnic outfit for 2020 Valentine’s Day picnic date in the snow anyways.

And here it is, a fashion cheat sheet for a romantic Valentine’s day picnic date. Just not for a picnic date in snow. You can wear this outfit for a winter picnic when it doesn’t snow and there is no chance you get wet in any other way but by spilling the cup of tea.

By the way, you can shop this Valentine’s day picnic date outfit simply by clicking inside the pink brackets in the collage below. Oh, and be sure to also swipe through the widget to find some waterproof pants and snow boots.

WINTER SNEAKERS

Yes, I added some snow boots in the widget above, but not because I think you shouldn’t wear my sneakers for a winter picnic in the snow. As you can see from the photos, my Isabel Marant Bobby sneakers (shop here) stayed dry while I was playing in the snow. So have no doubt that these shoes are actually good to wear for a winter picnic in the snow. Just not without a pair of warm socks.

PUFFER JACKET

I’m wearing the puffer jacket with a shearling hood, which happens to be the most fashionable jacket for the ski slopes and winter picnics in the snow. Mine down jacket is from Tommy Hilfiger (shop here). And it’s selling out fast. Ps. In case you come too late and this winter jacket is sold out already – check my other favourite winter jackets as well. You can find them all in 2020 winter coat trend report over here.

UNSEEN

Under the puffer jacket, I’m wearing layers and layers of clothes. You didn’t think I would dress for the photos, did you? Well yes, I wear sandals when it’s close to zero for the photos (check my Instagram to see those), but even then I make sure I’m feeling warm.
So what exactly I’m I wearing? An alpaca wool sweater (shop here or get a similar wool sweater from J.Crew on the budget here) and a sweatshirt. Again from Tommy Hilfiger (shop here). Ps. Tommy Hilfiger has the best winter basics.

I’m also wearing 2 thick thighs from Wolford. Yes, you read 2. These merino ones here and another one made of silk and cotton (shop here). And wool socks.

WINTER WARMERS

You know this faux fur hat that I’m wearing already as I also wore it for the outdoor party over here. It’s from Bart’s, and you can shop it on Amazon (over here).

The gloves. I can’t believe I got those for skiing. These were the worst buy ever. They got wet, and my hands turned all red. Luckily I found far better gloves over here. More fashionable and what matters the most, waterproof.

VALENTINE’S DAY JEANS

Finally, jeans. As much as I love these Diesel jeans (shop here), I couldn’t have chosen worse pants for my winter picnic in the snow. You can see I got wet. Well, at least I was smart enough to put on 2 tights under these jeans. This way, I wasn’t able to feel my jeans were wet, but you can only imagine what it was like when I had to take them off. In short, I needed help.

SNOWY PICNIC ESSENTIALS YOU SHOULDN’T FORGET TO INCLUDE TO YOUR VALENTINE’S DAY PICNIC OUTFIT

I almost forgot to mention the snowy winter picnic essentials. Truth to be told, you won’t be able to eat anything fancy in the blizzard. You can forget the club sandwiches and sponge cake with cream. I guess you could have those snacks from the gallery below, but I advise you to have fun with snowballs instead (don’t eat snow though!) and go for a real dinner to some fancy restaurant later.

Also, you better get more than one blanket. I had 3. The bottom one was waterproof. But it didn’t help much as it was snowing and in the end, all 3 blankets were soaking wet.

Ps. I mean seriously with the beacon and snow shovel.
