I know, merely thinking about what to wear for when it rains can be so frustrating. Especially in fall when there are slippery autumnal leaves on the floor, and everything looks so dull and depressive. However, dressing up for rain and looking chic while walking under the umbrella is not that difficult at all.

Seriously, there is not much into this style problem. In fact, dressing up for the rain shouldn’t be a problem at all. And no, not even for the autumnal rain. I know this sounds a bit too good to be true right now, but believe me, once you finish reading my chic guide for when it rains, you will see I was right.

HOW TO LOOK CHIC IN THE RAIN

As said, there is not much to know about how to look chic when it rains. So no, the rain won’t stop by the time you finish reading this article, because once for a change, my chic guide is actually quite short.

Anyhow, better start checking my tips on how to look chic when it rains. Otherwise, you will miss the rain.

There are only 3 tips you should know to look chic when it rains this fall. And yes, these tips apply to spring rain as well. And also to the summer rain.

1 DON’T DRESS FOR THE RAIN

First things first – don’t dress for the rain head to toe. Unless you are going to spend the entire afternoon jumping in the puddles, there is no need for you to put on the rain boots and that PVC rain cover. If you want to look chic when it rains, then don’t dress like it’s raining cats and dogs.

Especially when it’s only drizzling, and the rain is so light that raindrops barely touch the ground. Besides, if it was raining cats and dogs, would you even leave your home?

Obviously, if it were raining heavily, this tip doesn’t apply by letter. In this case, just make sure you dress for the rain like Parisians!

2 PROTECT YOUR HAIR

Whatever you wear in the rain – always protect your hair.

Put on a fashionable hat or secure your curls with hairspray.

3 GET THE RIGHT UMBRELLA

You must have spotted those transparent umbrellas everyone was wearing during the last fashion month. You might have even read there is more about the transparent umbrellas than being just a chic see-through rain shield.

Moreover that there might be even a new fashion trend falling down with the rainbows. Fake news! Even though the transparent umbrellas match perfectly the transparent plexi pumps, which are by the way still in fashion, fashion it girls weren’t wearing transparent umbrellas because of this.

No, we were wearing these see-through umbrellas just for one reason.

The thing is that transparent umbrellas make it for street style photographers easier to take photos of our outfits since we can’t hide under the transparent umbrella.

Imagine you were wearing this fashionable outfit that would put you on the best-dressed fashion week street style list for sure. But no one could actually see it because your old broken dark umbrella would take all the spotlight while living you stand there in the shadow.

Anyway, to put this short, transparent umbrellas are not the new must-have accessory. And you can wear any other umbrella in the rain. Wait, I didn’t actually mean any umbrella – especially not that broken umbrella you randomly grab on your way out.

If you want to look chic when it rains, then get yourself an umbrella that matches your outfit.
