Since we are already right in the middle of the cold winter, I have a new set of brunch outfits for you. All new. Well, one old. Maybe two. But only because I truly love those two outfits and, we promised to dress more sustainably in 2025.

Anyway, here are brunch outfits or day date outfits, or whatever you call that outfit you put on when you go out to meet someone special around noon this winter.

Apart from the three exceptions, the dress code for a winter brunch is more casual than the dress code for lunch but more dressed up than for breakfast.

So what to wear for winter brunch if you want to get compliments for your winter brunch outfit from everyone? Like everyone? From people at the tea salon where we spoil ourselves with the macaron and pretend to be a lady drinking a detox tea, to the outdoor bar where we sit just to spot more of our friends, and to the IT restaurant where everyone tries to look fashionable while bitting that one leaf of kale, that somehow found its way on roya,l for one hour at least? One of these winter brunch styles, of course.

BOUJEE WINTER BRUNCH OUTFITS FOR BRUNCH WITH MOM

Now, I usually don’t start brunch edits with brunch outfits for brunch with mom, but it’s that date of the month. And you need your mother (pov it would be easier to crack your father, but he is hard at work and unreachable all the time, and his assistants are useless) to open her chequebook – we get it.

The Gstaad isn’t going to pay for itself, and let’s be honest, that credit card statement is looking a bit too much this month.Your trust fund doesn’t hit until the 1st, and you’ve already maxed out your “emergency shopping” card (who knew Khaite could drop a must-have bag between allowance days?).

The key here is to look expensive but also somehow responsible with money – the ultimate fashion paradox.

Think “I have my life together but also wouldn’t mind a little top-up.” Your mother’s favorite silk blouse (that you permanently borrowed last Christmas) paired with those tailored shorts and Valentino boots you actually paid for yourself (OK, with her card, but still – also it’s your father’s money anyway). Add your grandmother’s vintage Kelly bag – nothing says “I respect family heirlooms and therefore deserve more money” quite like it.

The goal? Channel “corporate girlboss who definitely doesn’t have three unpaid parking tickets from Bergdorf’s.”

But again, it’s brunch so go for boujee attire.

Ok, so the plot. Imainge, you’ve just stepped out of your hairdresser’s salon. T did his usual magic with your waves – that perfect “I woke up like this but also dropped three figures on this” balance. The January air hits differently when you’replotting a finances discussion with mother.

The main avenue stretches before you, a runway of possibilities (and recently maxed-out credit cards).

Your boots hit the sidewalk with purpose, every step a rebellion against the Chanel slingbacks mother keeps “suggesting”at every brunch. Past Ladurée (not today’s destination – too obvious), past Ralph’s coffee (too casual for this particular mission), until you reach that cute new spot. Of course mother’s already there, perfectly positioned to watch both the door and the street scene, scrolling her iphone like it’s light entertainment.

The maître d’ greets you by name (bless him), and you walk to your table. Mother’s already ordered her usual matcha latte. You sit down on your chair, carefully arranging yourself in that studied way that says “I’m responsible now” while simultaneously signaling to the waiter that yes, you’ll have the Royal Breakfast. Nothing says “I handle my money well”quite like ordering champagne before asking for more of it.

You look at the decorations, which are in the theme of the baby’s gender. The air is filled with the smell of the baby powder and the soft chatter of friends and family. You see balloons, flowers, banners, and a cake. You also see a pile of gifts, wrapped in cute paper and ribbons. You place your gift on the top, hoping your best friend will like it the most.

You sit down and cringe, there is no champagne. A mimosa, then? No, it’s too sweet. We don’t drink liquid sugar. We will drink water.

You chat with your best friend and the other guests, sharing tips and advice about pregnancy and motherhood. You have non, obv but you laugh and have fun listening to the labour stories, while enjoying the delicious food and the warm atmosphere. You play some games, such as guessing the baby’s name, weight, and date of birth. You win a prize for being the closest to the correct answer. Obv the baby’s name will be Emma.

You watch your best friend open her gifts, one by one. You see her eyes light up as she unwraps clothes, toys, books, and other items for the baby. You see her thank each person for their thoughtful and generous present. You see her open your gift, which is a precious little silk dress with the baby’s name on it and a mini white coat for a 6 month old (for her baptism). You see her gasp and smile, and hug you tightly. You tell her how much you love her and how happy you are for her.

After taking some pictures with your girlies, taking pics of this special day, you notice the snowflakes falling outside the window. Wait, did I forget to tell you what coat to pair with your fit?

Imagine this. You step out of the car and feel the cold breeze on your face. You wrap your short pink coat around you, glad that you chose a warm and cozy outfit for brunch with your Valentine_a. You walk towards the cafe, holding their hand and smiling. The dress falls down straight and shows off your legs. You paired it with a navy blue Sandro Paris blazer, which has a velvet collar and velvet button. The blazer is long and oversized, giving you a chic and cool vibe.

You completed your look with a pair of black Valentino Garravani combat boots, which add some edge and contrast to your 60s style outfit. (Btw we are so happy that the 60s are back).

You enter the cafe and find a table by the window. The ambience is cosy, with the soft hum of conversations, and it smells of chocolate and marshmallows.

Wait, we have another plot. A bit more casual.

You finish your outfit with white ankle boots that match your shirt and give you some extra height. Your guy could be a basketball player and you need to step on your toes everytimeyou kiss.

You glance at the mirror and feel satisfied with your appearance. You grab your purse and coat and head out the door. You walk to the nearby cafe, where you and your partner agreed to meet. You spot them sitting at a corner table, looking handsome (or beautiful – let’s be gender inclusive; btw what is the adjective for pretty they? write in comments if you know) in a navy sweater and black pants. They see you and wave, their eyes lighting up.

You walk over to them and greet them with a hug and a kiss. They pull out a chair for you, and you sit down, feeling a rush of butterflies in your stomach. You look at the menu and order your favorite brunch food, pink matcha latte (that’ssomething new, I guess it’s with beetroot) and a glass of champagne, while your partner does the same. You chat about your plans for the weekend – ice skating in Austria sounds like a good plan, and anything else that comes to mind. You laugh at their jokes, and they compliment your outfit.

You enjoy your delicious food and drink, and then decide to go for a walk in the park. Surely, you are holding hands and stroll along the paths, listening to the birds singing. The air is crisp, and the charm of the city is all around you as you approach a picturesque bridge. You step on the bridge and cuddle in the middle, feeling their warmth and their heartbeat. 

Rizz! You look into their eyes and feel that shine in the eyes. You chuckle softly, your cheeks tinged with a subtle blush. With a swift, but gentle motion, you lean in and pressed a kiss on their cheek, lingering just close enough to their lips to leave an obv invitation.

For a brief moment, uncertainty lingers in the air, but then a warm smile forms on their face. The tension in their shoulders eases, and without uttering a word, they close the distance between the two of you. Cupping your face with their hands, they lean in and press their lips against your in a sweet and tender kiss. They smile and whisper, “I love you.”

The waiter appears with Biscotti before you’ve even settled into your chair (definitely suspicious – he must have ordered ahead). You’re halfway through your Scottish Smoked Salmon when he starts talking about the day you met at the uni.
