It’s monochrome, it’s white, sharp, sophisticated, tailored, well sort of tailored, well put together pants suit. Sounds like a perfect work outfit, right? Or that outfit that would make you land your dream job. Wait! It’s all that but the last thing. This suit is NOT the suit you should wear for the job interview this spring. Here’s why and where to wear it instead.
Even though getting a new job might seem like getting married in a way, I mean you do spend most of your time at work. This doesn’t mean you should wear white for your job interview. All the contrary, the white suit is the worst possible choice you could take when standing in your walking in closet in the morning. Well slightly exaggerating with that the worst choice, but you know what I mean.
THIS IS NOT THE HIRE ME SUIT
So why on earth a white suit is not the suit that will land you your dream job? In short, white is for the BOSS. Same as the Louboutins and Chanel bag. And if you are not there for the CEO position, then the white suit is not what you should wear for the job interview.
Even though the common thought is that black and red are the most powerful colours, the truth is that white is even more powerful. Especially that clean crisp white. Therefore it might be slightly too much for that HR person.
Even though HR ladies became fashion aware in the last few years. I mean lots of them are part of Brunette from Wall Street squad and or on track with all the latest fashion trends. But you might run up with the other kind of HR person. The mice of the office. Walking around in black tights and flats. Boring, dull but mean. And with no sense of fashion.
So no, they probably won’t give a damn about the white monochrome suit being one of the most fashionable outfits for spring summer 2018. Well unless they read Brunette from Wall Street blog or work in fashion. But even then they might give you that look if you show up in white to the job interview.
Not to say anything more, just remember this word LWDB.
WTF* IS LWDB?
LWDB? Wondering what this is* Louboutins, white, designer bag. These are all the things you should never wear to the job interview. I didn’t add the jeans, as jeans are actually fine for some job interviews in 2018. As long as they are dark of course. What so ever, I wrote more about jeans being acceptable for work over here and here.
By the way, you did know about the Louboutins and the designer bags, right? I’m pretty sure I mentioned this in my guide covering what to wear for a job interview last autumn. Ps. In case you missed that guide, be sure to check it here.
WHITE IS FOR THE BOSS
As said, a white suit is for the boss. So good news for you, if you are a CEO. Or getting married. Well, yes, you can wear this all in white outfit for work if you are getting married in between the lunch break.
Whatsoever, find out more about what to wear for a wedding on Wednesday here. But beofre, we need to talk a bit more about this chic white suit. I know you are wondering where to get it. I mean who doesn’t dream of becoming a CEO one day?
SHOP AND WEAR MY STYLE
And this little fashion cheat sheet is waiting for you to pin, save, and print it. And glue it on the mirror in your walking in closet. The same mirror you will be standing in front of the entire morning while practicing your “hire me look”.
Ps. don’t forget to share this EDIT with your friend who is looking for a new job too. Well, that is if she is not hunting the same job as you do. In this case, you better hide your pins from her. By the way, do you follow me on my Pinterest already? My Pinterest boards are a must see now. With more than 520k visitors per month, I must be pinning something good.
Well enough of bragging. I know you want me to finally tell you where to get this chic white suit. Simply click on the pink boxes that will show up as you touch/scroll down the EDIT. Or click on the items in the gallery below the EDIT.
I get a commission for purchases or clicks made through links in this post.
WHERE TO GET THE BEST WHITE SUIT
This white suit I’m wearing is actually from Juicy Couture. Yes, that Juicy Couture everyone is wearing again. Well, I wore it first. Not the velour tracks obviously, but everything else. Including this chic white suit. Unfortunately, Juicy Couture decided to go back to the core of its business. And doesn’t have any blazers or slacks in the store right now. Hopefully, they bring this chic clothes back.
Whatsoever, I found plenty of similar blazers and slacks in white for you. Afterall white is in fashion for spring summer 2018, and finding white clothes is quite easy right now. Check them all in the gallery above.
THE NEW TRENCH COAT
Truth to be told, not exactly new, as you have seen me wearing this white trench coat before. Last time over here. What I meant by the new, was the design. Luckily my old trench coat has few details that make it fashionable for spring summer 2018. Just have a look at my sleeves. Those little ruffles make such a difference.
WHO SAYS YOU SHOULDN’T WEAR TRANSPARENT CLOTHES FOR WORK
Wait, you really shouldn’t wear transparent clothes for work. But you can wear transparent shoes. That is if they are only partially transparent like these Gianvito Rossi plexi shoes that I’m wearing this time. You can shop these transparent yet totally work appropriate shoes over here.
As it goes to the bag. Well, my bag is too small for the office anyway, so I’m linking some white office tote bags instead. Browse through the gallery to find them all.
