My Sunday outfit is more or less all about stepping out of my comfort zone and bringing my style to the edge. I stepped out from my chic zone. And added a boho vibe to my chic style. Finally, for the end, I brought this chic boho weekend outfit to the top of the city and moreover to the edge of it. And oh, yes, almost to the bottom of the swimming pool, too.
I believe my style can be everything, but boho. In spite of my free spirit, love for ruffles and florals, there is nothing bohemian about me or my style. I guess I’m not spirited enough to follow a bohemian fashion. However, I put myself through a boho task this weekend and added a glimpse of boho vibe to my weekend style. Turning my chic outfit into a boho-chic outfit fitted for the top of the city. And catching the first rays of sun this year.
So, here I am, standing on the rooftop and wandering through the city in this ugly dress, that has a slight boho touch. Because, you know, F* off my weekend style experimenting, this is the most bohemian I could go.
MY WEEKEND CHIC-BOHO STYLE
Today I’m wearing, in my opinion, the ugliest dress I could find in my closet. Still, no matter how ugly I find this dress, it has been there, in my closet, for more than seven years. Making it, along with my inherited vintage silk blouses, one of the oldest piece of clothing I own. I simply can’t let it go away. You know what I mean, that feeling that this dress might have a prosperity in being fashionable one day.
The truth is that bohemian dresses always find their way to the runways. Only they don’t find their way from the runway to me. Perhaps to my closet, but certainly not on me. Well, at least not as they are. Bohemian.
Anyway, in the name of my weekend challenge, weekend style experiment, I decided to put on this sort of boho dress and make it work for a chic boho style. Or boho chic, whatever you prefer. After all, thinking more about this weekend outfit, the brown over the knee boots add even more boho vibes to my outfit. Leaving the double breasted coat and gloves as the only two elegant pieces. Well, up until I decided to take the two of them off, loosen my hair, and let the boho vibe overtake the chic.
To put it short, the boho style won this weekend. In “Make love not walls” kind of way. Even though I made the boundaries to the bohemian vibes by wearing the ugly boho dress together with an elegant double-breasted coat, gloves and sleek ponytail, at the beginning. I took all of them away as soon as I reached the top of the city and stepped on the edge of it. The sun was too strong, and I wanted to feel the light breeze on my skin.
HOW TO WEAR BOHO AND LOOK CHIC AND ELEGANT
A little advice on how to wear bohemian outfit if you want to look chic and classy at the same time. Stick to my formula. 2 x 2 + 2. The key is in wearing only one statement boho piece of clothing, to which you add a supporting boho accessories. And wrapping all the boho into something elegant. To which you add an elegant supporting accessory. Finally, finish your look with a sleek beauty element and another elegant accessory. To exemplify, do as I and wear a boho dress together with shoes that reveal their boho nature only when you wear them with a statement boho piece. Combine the two bohemian pieces with an elegant double breasted coat and elegant gloves. Best when the gloves are the long ones. For the end, finish your look with a sleek ponytail or a sleek bun and small tote bag. Don’t forget to mind the colours.

As it comes for the rest of the things I’m wearing today. Unfortunately, you can’t get them in the store anymore, as I bought them quite some time ago. Don’t worry, though. I found some similar pieces for you to buy from the designers’ stores as well as the high-street stores. You will find them in my new Chic List – Boho Vibes that is coming up later.

In case you are wondering, I’m strolling in the center of Ljubljana. I’m leaving Kongresni trg (Kongresni Square) and walking down the Hribarjevo Nabrežje and standing on the Ribja Brv. Lastly, I’m letting the boho win the chic on the rooftop of my favourite hotel in the old part of Ljubljana.
