Remember how I wore the smudged stripes on my eyelids in the spring? I told you I would follow this bold makeup trend slowly and take one line at the time. Well, actually remove one line after another. So here it is. The boldest eye makeup I have ever worn. Stripes are everywhere this summer, no doubt.

STRIPES ON EYELIDS

As said in my first beauty story of the season (be sure to check my smudged green eye makeup over here), I’m saving the boldest eye makeup look for the summer. The boldest and the most challenging to be honest. And no, I don’t mean challenging because this eye makeup looks slightly too bold to wear every day. But because it’s not easy to draw a perfect line on the eyelid.

STRIPED MAKEUP

Surely you know the struggle with the lines on the eyelids. Especially when it comes to drawing lines with the eyeliner. You know what I mean? However, this eye makeup is even harder to make. Who would thought drawing a crooked line is actually more difficult than drawing a straight picture perfect line. Ps. keep reading to find out how to get my look and what makeup I used.

SHOP MY MAKEUP

Finally, about what makeup did I use. Wait, first comes the skin care. You know everything starts with a beautiful skin. So pampering is something you should have in mind always, especially in the hot summer like this.

SUMMER SKINCARE

As usual, I used my favourite skincare products, all from Dior. I wore a facial sheet mask the Exceptional Regenerating Firming Mask from Dior (shop here)Β on the morning of the shooting day. So I didn’t really need to use all the products I usually use. Still, I didn’t forget to protect my skin from the sun (find the products in the gallery) and take an extra care of my eyes. I used Dior One Essential Eye Serum (shop here) and Dior Prestige Le ConcentrΓ© Yeux (shop refill here US or shop EU here; Ps. go for the refill to save some money).

Be sure to browse through the gallery to find all the skin care products I used on the shooting day.

Now, finally! The makeup I used. You know I have this crush for the cushion and glow this summer. So obviously I couldn’t not use my favourite cushion and powder. I used Diorskin Forever Perfect Cushion Foundation (shop here US or shop here EU). By the way, it really is perfect. I probably wrote about how smooth my skin feels after wearing this cushion for hours. It feels I was wearing a mask or some extremely hydrating cream all day long and not makeup.

SUMMER EYE MAKEUP

As it goes for the eye makeup, I used my old blue Dior palette. Surprisingly you can still get it online over here. Also, be sure to swipe through the gallery under to find other blue makeup I also like to use instead of these blue eye shadows.

Lastly, the eye brows. You know the eyebrows are always the most important part of my makeup. Not that I need to draw them. But a strip or two does make a difference. If nothing eye brow pencil helps me correct my look in case foundation ends in my brows. Which happens like all the time. This time I used the Dior eyebrow pencil (shop here). By the way, in case you missed, I wrote on how to draw perfect eyebrows that look like a real deal over here.

HOW TO DRAW A PERFECT LINE

Yes, to get my look, you need to draw a perfectly crooked bold line on your eyelids. How to do that? Honestly, I still haven’t figured it out. I drew a straight line that is slightly thinner at the end, and it somehow followed the natural line of my eyebrows. Anyway, the key to this look is not to try too hard. Especially not with making the stripes look the same. Remember, all the stripes on your eyelids, and even the eye brows should be sisters and not the twins.

The only thing you should care about when it comes to the stripes on your eyelids is to make them look bold.

Ps. Shop the makeup I wear here in the gallery above. As it goes for the dress that I’m wearing, be sure to check more about it over here. Remember, I wore it once before at the little picturesque seaside town.

So are you ready to wear stripes not only on your dress but everywhere else, too? Ps. I would love to read any of your tips on how to draw a perfectly crooked line on the eye lids.

Wow this is really unique, I’ve never seen anyone do stripes for the eyelids before! I don’t know if I would be brave enough to wear this but maybe for a photoshoot/blog shoot I would, I tend to be a braver in those situations.

I felt the same before shooting this makeup story. But now I feel I can wear this makeup instead of the bold smokey eye. In fact, if you take a look to the photos in which my eyes are fully open, this makeup doesn’t seem too bold at all.

Ps. Send me a snap if you try this look.

I’ve never tried an eye look this bold before, but have seen it all over the runways! I like how it plays up the stripe trend that’s been going strong in another form. Speaking of, I adore your dress! I love how trendy it is with both the stripes and cold shoulder cut outs. Thanks for sharing, beauty, and I hope you have a great rest of the week!
