I also have one freshly baked croissant. Pov, I should have had a soup instead (it’s almost noon) but the layers of buttery pastry transport me back home to Paris. Its layers are delicate and crisp, giving way to a tender, melt-in-your-mouth interior. The buttery richness is a sheer delight, and I savor every morsel.

To accompany my meal, I order a cup of fragrant tea. The tea’s aroma would rise better from the porcelain cup, though. But still, it complements the richness of the omelette and croissant fairly enough, creating a sense of balance and satisfaction.
