My weekend style is all about mixing black and white patterns under the umbrella this time. And once for the change, I finally got that romantic feeling of the rainy morning.
UNDER MY UMBRELLA
Walking in the rain always seems so romantic. In the sugary sweet movies and trashy love novels, of course. We all know, how it goes in reality. When we step out in the rain and fight with the rain drops, which will undoubtedly ruin our outfit. Or hair at least.
However, when taking photos of this weekend style, I finally felt something romantic in the rain. The raindrops falling on my umbrella felt somehow so soft and light, like soap bubbles. I guess it was all because the romantic outfit I was wearing.
As you might have noticed in my previous post about the Winter Tights, I’m more or less throwing back to the Gossip Girl Style this week. And capturing the romantic Blair Waldorf’s vibes. After all, it’s February, the month of love, which calls for sweet romantic outfits. And weekends seems just perfect to swap our chic city style for something more romantic.
Honestly, I can’t say, I’m stepping out of my comfort zone with my weekend outfit this time since my outfit turned out to be extremely elegant in a way. Nevertheless mixing more than three patterns is not something I usually do. Well, yes I take into consideration the pattern on my umbrella, too.
Even so, my umbrella doesn’t matter that much this time. After all, it didn’t keep me from getting wet. If you could only see what happened to the white leather pumps that I’m wearing. Still crying. Although I do have a legit reason to get the new white pumps now. Again, what I want to point out are the patterns I’m wearing under my umbrella.
As you can see, I’m wearing three different patterns under my umbrella. To begin with, I put on this lovely mini tweed skirt. I simply love this chic tweed skirt. Most of all because it’s super fashionable now and will be slightly fashionable few months later too. Is it just me, or does this faux wrap of the skirt look like a side cut to you too?
Back to the patterns. I completed the Prince of Wales check of my tweed skirt with fishnet stockings. You know, the “it” stockings of the season I have been wearing in all the different ways lately. I’m sharing the #3 Ways to Wear the Fishnets in this post here.
Indeed I had to put on another fashionable pattern. The flowers of course. And what better way of wearing the darkly romantic florals than on a fashion’s favourite street-style jacket. This elevated floral bomber works perfectly with the mini tweed skirt, don’t you think?
BLACK AND WHITE MIX
You can see me wearing the prints and patterns with black and white clothes and accessories. The black and white perfectly wraps all the patterns and give an elegant touch to my weekend outfit. Once again I wore the ivory double-breasted coat, a black silk blouse with the embellished collar and white pumps. And the black gloves of course. How not to, when the gloves are the must for me.
FLASH OF COLOUR
Finally, to brighten this rainy day and bring more weekend vibes to it, I finished my outfit with a pink mini tote bag. Almost forgot to bring the word back to the umbrella which happens to be a linking piece between the black and white prints and the pink bag.
SHOP MY STYLE
I’m wearing Weekend Max Mara ivory double-breasted coat, Shauna Tweed Skirt from Storets, black silk Juicy Couture blouse, Juicy Couture floral bomber jacket, La Perla fishnet stockings, See by Chloè mini pink tote bag, and white Fornarina pumps.
Unfortunately, I couldn’t find all the things I’m wearing this weekend online. However, I did find similar ones from the designers and high street brands. As usual, have a look at the designer gallery first. And to the high street gallery afterward. You can find the things I’m wearing somewhere among both galleries.
HOW TO WEAR VARIOUS DIFFERENT PATTERNS IN ONE OUTFIT
We all know mixing more than two different patterns and prints is quite challenging. As our outfit can turn out far away from what we had in mind before we put on that patterned clothes. Coupled with the compromised confidence, even the style savvy girls can be afraid of mixing prints and patterns sometimes.
Surprisingly the key is not in a number of different patterns we put on. Neither how similar they are. You know what I mean, mixing animal pattern with florals. Or something like that.
It’s all about the colour of the prints and patterns. Go for the one color scheme and stick to it. As I did to the black and white in my romantic outfit this weekend.

Before I invite you to continue exploring my blog, I must warn you to put on platform pumps or even better ankle boots for a walk on a rainy morning in the winter. Emphasis is in the winter. My beautiful white leather pumps got ruined. I’m not sure if that happened because of the rain itself, though. I think the mix of water, and moreover, the salt on the streets was fateful. Long-lived my white pumps.
Almost forgot to mention my hair. You guessed right. Putting away my umbrella in the drizzle was not the smartest idea. My hair got wet and well, I don’t even need to say more.
Ps. I will be sharing my afternoon weekend style later. Again black and white, with a romantic touch. And more patterns of course.
