We could say fashion is divided between two poles this spring. On the one side, we have stripes and sharp suiting and all that things about being feminists. And on the other side, we have all shades of pink and red and ruffles. I mean can it get even more girly from this? Probably not! Luckily we can change this girly mood for something more powerful while still being ruffled.
Anyway, you can go to one side or another, but if you are a true fashionista, you will flirt with both. And wear ruffles with stripes, tailored pants or ripped jeans as I did this Wednesday. Or perhaps add something else as there are so many options on the list of fashion trends this seasons.
ON WEDNESDAY WE WEAR PINK
Obviously, I had to elevate the ruffles a bit more, not that stripes could do the work, but simply because it is Wednesday. And you know, on Wednesday we wear pink. Everywhere. On our clothes, on our plates, in our mind. Especially now, when pink is the hot colour of the season.
By the way, I read some fashion business report earlier this morning, claiming the same shade of the pink I’m wearing today, is a colour millennials prefer overall in fashion campaigns. Meaning, it is more likely they (pardon, we) will buy a product if they (us) associate it with the pink. That is why you see many brand’s logos’ blushing these days. You can check that article after you finish reading this post here.
MY WEDNESDAY’S STYLE
Back to my Wednesday’s Style. This is actually my first time sharing what I wear on Wednesday. Honestly, I haven’t worn pink that often on Wednesday before. Yet, I decided to change that. I mean, pink is the hot colour of the season and wearing an overall pink outfit is simply a must this spring.
I decided to flirt with all of three most significant fashion trends of the season; stripes, ruffles, and pink, of course. True, the stripes are not pink, but that is the catch. If you don’t look like a little girl. And let your inner romantic overtake your chic.
This is why I decided to put the striped sweater around my shoulder and let the sleeves, while hanging down, point to the ruffles of the pink blouse I’m wearing under it. You have probably already recognised this blouse, as you have seen me wearing it here and also here and here. Yes, it’s that Red Valentino blouse I love so much.
PINK, PINK AND MORE PINK
I stuck this lovely pink ruffled blouse in pink jeans. True, not the most fashionable type of jeans, but hey it doesn’t matter because they are pink. And that’s all I want now. Still, I was thinking to upgrade them. Remember what I did with that light blue Levis jeans some time ago? Well, yes, that’s what I have in mind. Hopefully, I don’t cut my knees this time.
Almost forgot to mention the shoes, gloves and the bag that I’m wearing. After leaving me with huge blisters the other day in Paris, when I shoot the photos for the post on how to steal the look from the Parisian, these Diesel sneakers turned into the softest sneakers I ever had. I guess that 15 km around Paris did them well.
About the bag and gloves that come in hot pink. The bag is from See by Chloé. As it comes to the gloves, honestly I have no idea. I bought them in Paris if this helps. Anyway, I found similar for you and add them to the gallery at the end of the post.
WEAR MY STYLE
Finally, how to wear and where to shop my style. Before I let you browse and click through the products in the gallery, there is THE EDIT, you know the fashion cheat sheet on how to wear pink, ruffles and stripes. You can download, pin it or print it. And always have it somewhere close to your closet.
Unfortunately, I couldn’t find the gloves, jeans and the blouse I’m wearing anywhere, so I added some other chic jeans and ruffled blouses, all from Red Valentino, I love so much. I’m definitely getting at least one of them. Also, I couldn’t help adding more Chloé bags. Ps. You can find that stunning blouse from the EDIT over here.
MORE PINK, MORE RUFFLES, MORE STRIPES AND MORE FASHION
Ps. In case you are wondering what am I doing in the orchard in the first place. Obviously, I’m not smelling the cherry blossoms, as there aren’t any yet. I’m there because I have my first pink spring picnic. You will find all about this spring picnic over here. But first, enjoy in ruffles, pink and stripes you can find in the gallery above.
