Put on your warm puffer jacket and sparkly UGG boots, then grab a blanket and make yourself a picnic in the snow this weekend. Either in a company or alone, there is no better way to end the holiday season and to start the new year in a fun way. Where else than in the snow.
FUN IN THE SNOW
Honestly, this was my favourite picnic so far. And I’m not even a true snow lover. I mean I like to see snow in the mountains. And I am really looking forward to my ski weekend that is coming up after I come back from Paris. Though, I prefer to see grass in the valley. Even in winter. Mainly because that means it will be spring soon and I will be able to go to the golf course and have fun chasing the golf ball again. Nevertheless, there is a thing that I really hate about snow. Well about after the snow has melted. You know what I mean, right? The mud obviously.
Luckily there was no mud at my picnic this time. Despite the fact, that the snow was melting already. Well, I knew the snow wouldn’t last too long. It was the first snow of the season after all. In fact, I was lucky enough, it was there until the end of my picnic. You might be surprised to see a photo of my picnic spot an hour after I left and was already in my house. I took a quick look at the spot through a window while I was drinking another cup of tea trying to heat me up. And the snow was almost all gone. Mainly due to the wind, I guess. Because it was still quite cold outside.
NEW SEASON, NEW PICNIC STYLE
Don’t get me wrong I wasn’t feeling cold at my picnic. Even though I was sitting in the snow for hour or so. And there was wind blowing pretty strong. How could I feel cold anyway? Wearing that warm puffer jacket and sparkly UGG boots no cold could get to my bones. Not to mention I was drinking hot detox tea. Yet, before I start writing about the tea I was drinking, I want to write a word or two about other things that made this picnic so special. Don’t worry, I will spare a word for that detox tea for the end. Indeed that tea it’s worth of mentioning again. Especially now when everyone is trying to lose some of the weight gained after eating all the sweets from the Christmas tree.
Back to the differences I briefly mentioned before. I’m sure you must have spotted all the popping contrasts that highlighted my first picnic in the snow. On the one hand, there were tulips and snow, dramatic sequins and resting white nature, blue and pink. On the other hand, there was me wearing a puffer jacket and blue sparkly UGG boots. Yes, that ugly boots that everyone secretly loves and hates at the same time. Guess what? The UGG boots are back.
WHAT TO WEAR TO THE PICNIC IN THE SNOW

To make it clear straight away, I’m not a typical UGG lover. I mean I like how soft and warm they are. You know that feeling when you put your feet in this soft, cozy boots. To put it shortly, I love almost all about UGG boots. As long as I don’t have to walk in them. I’m simply not a girl who could walk in flats. But you must have noticed that so far. Well, you can blame it on my mother who let me wore heels before I even turned four. In brief, I’m very clumsy when I walk in flats. Especially in ballet flats and UGG boots. If I only told you about all the times, I fall off to the ground in my UGGs. You would be surprised.
Then again there is something special about classic UGG boots that keep reminding me why I fall in love with them in the first place. And that’s the reason I’m now advising you to get your old UGG boots out of the shoe closet or where ever you stuck them seasons ago. Put them on, grab a picnic basket and go out for a picnic in the snow this weekend.
And, obviously, don’t forget to put on a warm jacket and gloves. What jacket to wear this time? A puffer jacket, of course. I’m sure the news about the puffer jacket came to you by now. I didn’t realize this until now. But it seems like I actually wore two of the pieces that are back in the fashion after some time at this picnic. Yet, more about puffer jacket in the fashion memo another time. In the meantime let’s pay attention to my hair and makeup.
MY PICNIC MAKEUP AND HAIR
I need to mention my makeup and hair, as well. Even though you might don’t even notice my makeup and don’t see my hair in all of the photos, I feel it’s essential to mention this. Chiefly because it’s wintertime or should I say the season of dry hair and skin. There are two things more important than a colour of your lips when you are getting ready to go out and have fun in the snow.
First, to moisturize your skin and hair. Yes, your hair, too. I used Balmain Argan Moisturizing Elixir for my hair and Dior Prestige cream for my face and neck. Second, to protect. Because it’s winter and you are going out to the snow, you must not leave your house without a sun cream on your face. I used Dior Snow UV SHIELD SPF50 – PA+++ for my face and Balmain Sun Protection Spray for my hair.
By the way, I wore natural makeup this time. I put on some Burberry eyeshadows, Dior mascara, Dior foundation and powder, Dior lip maximizer (that works great as a lip moisturiser and protector as well) and Burberry lipstick. Also, I put some Balmain styling powder to my hair.
Finally, as I promised before, a word or two about the tea I was drinking. I was drinking a combination of two detox teas from Kusmitea this time. I combined a delicious Beauty Beverage flavoured with a hint of grapefruit that does miracles to my skin and another detox tea that helps losing weight.
