Have you ever tried sneaking in on the toes to your room, trying not to wake everybody and letting them know you spent last few hours partying? Well, I have. Chiefly for this fashion story, thought. And you know what, I had so much fun. Right, if it were for real I would probably look slightly less on fleek. And my hair would certainly be down. Hopefully, even though I won’t be sneaking in on my toes, I will still look put together after the New Year’s Eve Party.
Surely, you get the irony of this fashion story. As hardly any girl can relate herself sneaking home after the New Year’s Eve Party. After the night on which almost everyone stays up late toasting to the new beginning.
Therefore I decided to choose an outfit you could wear to any party. Either to the New Year’s Eve party or to the party in the middle of the year. And who knows, maybe you will have to sneak into your room, then.
WHAT TO WEAR TO THE NEW YEAR’S EVE PARTY
Anyway, let’s leave that for some other time and focus on the party outfit you should wear on this New Year’s Eve. After trying different styles; the studded little black dress, the velvet dress and the dark floral dress, I decided to elevate my style. As we are only a few hours apart from the New Year’s Eve, and this is truly the last minute outfit post, I decided to try on this gorgeous embellished dress.
Well yes, I wore it once before to the party with my old BFF. And yet I’m wearing it again. Of course with a twist this time. Obviously, I had to style it differently for this special occasion. First and foremost I needed to add some glitter and metallic shine. However more about sparkling finishes later.
First, comes the party dress.
As I wrote, I’m wearing this embellished dress that I already wore in one of my previous posts. I couldn’t resist this charming and slightly sparkling dress. Mostly because the opened back and tie closure. This playful little detail will undoubtedly turn heads on the dancing floor.
Sure you can grab all the attention and stand out in the crowd in some other slightly embellished little dress that doesn’t come with the back cut-out. As long as you know how to elevate your entire outfit. Here are some other stunning embellished dresses.
PARTY HAIR AND MAKEUP
The easiest and cheapest way to do this is with your makeup. And hair, as long as you know how to braid and pin your hair. Honestly, I’m not that skilled when it comes to hair. Although this hairstyle turned out quite good. For this fashion story, I simply braided my hair in the so-called French braid (3 strand braid that starts slightly above the forehead, at the crown of the head) and then twisted the ending of the braid into a bun. I attached the bun at the nape of the neck. This hair style is very basic and easy to made.
You will find more about makeup (how to recreate the look) in my Saturday’s blog post, so make sure you come back for more.
Worth mentioning, I didn’t take much time for my makeup and hair. To be honest, I was too lazy. Besides I sort of wanted to give an impression I just came home after the night out. Meaning, I wanted to look a bit messy.
No doubt there are two reasons why a girl would sneak into her room on her toes. First, she doesn’t want to wake her parents or roommates. Second, she simply couldn’t walk in her heels anymore. And she got rid of her shoes the minute she opened the entrance door of her home. If you don’t want to be that other girl and come back home with the shoes in your hands, there are few things you need to note before 2017.
To begin with the quality of your shoes. Don’t go out partying wearing the shoes that won’t last till 2017. Don’t wear heels if you don’t wear them regularly. Even though you might have written you will start wearing heels in 2017 onto your resolution list, this is not the best time to accomplish this goal. Finally, … Well, I can’t remember what I wanted to write as final point anymore. After all, I never feel pain while wearing my heels. Perhaps because I always wear quality shoes.
Don’t worry I have found the perfect party shoes you could wear for hours long. You can find them at the bottom of this blog post.
Almost forgot to mention the accessories. As said before this outfit needs to be upgraded. Otherwise, it would be just that dress I wore the other evening to meet my friend at the bar. Yet, this is the New Year’s Eve Party Outfit. And there should be more things going on. Besides the few glittered flowers stitched onto the dress, I thought adding some metallic shine, and more glitter would do much of the work.
Nevertheless, I added few more details. The sheer tights with the black seam at the back and the glitter nail polish. Be careful with the last one, though. Though beautiful, the nail polish I used turned out as a bad choice. You might notice the nail polish peeled off my index nail while I was opening the door. My sister had to take quite an effort and time to remove the golden flakes off her nails. More about this nail polish in my other blog post that is coming on tomorrow.
Finally, as promised a bit more about shoes. If you don’t want to be sneaking in on your toes, here are some of my favourite shoes you should be wearing on the New Year’s Eve. Find out more about these fabulous shoes by clicking on them.
