New Year, new plans and new resolutions. I admit I’m one of those people who are all about New Year’s resolution. And I actually always make them happen. How? Well by following these tips …
LET’S MAKE THE NEW YEAR’S RESOLUTIONS COME TRUE THIS YEAR
I truly believe in New Year Resolutions. Yet I don’t see them as a promise but more as a mid-term plan. You know, I do know a thing or two about business strategy. Well, truth to be told I’m quite good at it. Anyway, I know a legit planning is a key to success. And I know, there is no such thing as impossible, and unrealistic goals. So don’t stop before even writing your resolutions. As I said in my previous blog post about the quotes fashion bloggers will live by in 2018 (here in case you missed it), always shoot for the moon. Because even if you fail, you will end up among the stars.
Anyway, back to the (un)realistic New Year Resolutions. As said, there is no such thing as unrealistic resolutions. There are just the right and wrong strategy to make it happen. And guess what, I happen to know the right strategy to make your New Year’s Resolutions happen.
But before we head on how to make resolutions for 2018 happen, I want to share my resolutions for 2018. Ps. A bit humorous as always. But all up among the stars.

#1 MAKE BRUNETTE FROM WALL STREET BLOG YOUR HOMEPAGE
My first goal for 2018 is to make Brunette from Wall Street so good, that you will want to have it on your homepage. I want Brunette from Wall Street to become not only your daily source of fashion inspiration and style tips but also a place of fun and life lessons. And yes, this means making this glamorous street not just about me but about you too. Afterall streets are always a hot spot, where friends meet. And I will do my best to make this Wall a Street where fashion people meet, chat and have fun in 2018.
#2 SHARE MORE
I know, it seems I’m already failing on this one. It’s 7th of January, and I have posted only two blog post so far. Although I do have a legit excuse. I was planning and shooting content for my Instagram and Youtube Channel. Yes, my Youtube Channel is finally happening this year. And it will be personal. Like really personal. Surely, I’m not having my own reality show … wait, or am I? Well, let’s keep this a secret for now. But I can tell, there will be a lot of style lessons on my new Youtube Channel. And yes, this means you won’t need to read everything I write in my long posts anymore as I will explain everything in my short videos. Well, I can’t really promise my videos to be short, but they sure will be ones to watch.
Also, I might be joining another platform where you could actually chat with me live, face to face, for 2 hours per day. Sounds splendid, right? Don’t worry I will keep you posted on this.
I feel I need to write this twice. So, my resolution for 2018 is to post more. Every day a new blog post and a live story on my Instagram and Facebook (starting 10th of January), 2 hours of a live chat, a new video on my Youtube Channel every xx from February.
#3 SPEND MORE TIME ON THE GOLF COURSE
You know how much I love golf. I mentioned several times before. Yet I wasn’t really active golfer in 2017. With all the work and my ache and poor immune system, I was either on my way or in my bed most of the year. And too weak to even hold my golf club.
But I have good feelings for 2018. I just got few vaccines before Christmas, so I’m quite sure I won’t get sick at all once all the vaccines start to work. And as I decided to share more video content in 2018, working while waiting for my turn sounds something I could actually do. Besides, I couldn’t imagine better scenery for my vlogs than a golf course.
#4 START PAINTING AGAIN
Yes, I can paint. And I’m quite good at it. Well, at least I used to be. I haven’t held my painting brush for years now. But I feel I’m finally ready to start painting again. This time for real. I guess I should head on to the art store to get new brushes and oils. I’m pretty sure my old oils have all dried already. And get new watercolours. Omg, there are so many things I will need to purchase. Luckily my name day and Valentine’s day are coming soon, so I might just add these to my wish list.
#5 GIVE A CHANCE TO LOVE
Mentioning the Valentine’s Day, this year I decided to finally give a chance to love. I guess it’s about time I start making a list of all the things my future boy (not saying boyfriend, because I don’t want to rush too much) should have, don’t you think?
Still, this doesn’t mean I’m seriously looking for a guy and adding “get a serious boyfriend until the Valentine’s Day” on my resolution list. It just means I might give a chance and time to my perfect in case I randomly meet him and not just squeezing him somewhere in between meetings. You know what I mean. Especially if you were like me, raised to be a CEO instead of a wife.
HOW TO ACHIEVE ALL OF YOUR NEW YEAR’S RESOLUTIONS
Finally, the tips you have been looking for since you wrote down your New Year’s resolution list for 2018. So here they are, my 5 tips on how to make your resolution come true.
#1 ASK YOURSELF WHY YOU HAVEN’T MADE THIS RESOLUTION BEFORE
Before you start acting and thinking about how to finally make your New Year’s resolutions happen, you should ask yourself one thing. Why the hell you haven’t done it before? Did this resolution just pop up in your mind? Or you were thinking about it for years, but never had time? Or were you just too lazy to make it happen? Well, guess what, the day didn’t get extra hours in 2018, neither you became less lazy the moment you saw all the fireworks up in the sky at midnight. Nothing has changed really. Not even you, no matter how hard you try to convince yourself you are a completely different person now.
Anyway, I didn’t write you should ask this question to yourself merely to bring you back to Earth nor make you think there is no way you could make your 2018 resolutions happen. You need to know this merely to shift to the next step, making a strategy.
#2 MAKE A STRATEGY
The second step in making a change and finally get your resolution in motion is to make a strategy.
FIND A MENTOR
So if you admitted being too lazy to make your resolutions happen before, then the first step of your strategy should be finding a person who will help you go through this process. Face it; you won’t be able to do it on your own. So rather than losing your time looking for your inner motivation, go out and look for a mentor.
HIRE A TIME MANAGEMENT CONSULTANT
Mentioning the time, if you couldn’t make your resolution happen before because you simply didn’t have time, you will have to focus on the time management this time. I admit being bad at the time management too (well you sure got that, especially if I turned you down because I didn’t have time). But now I exactly know where I can get more time and be more efficient. Thanks to my friend, who happens to be time management consultant.
I know, and it feels like I know this better than anyone else, it can be hard to cut the “me moments.” But thinking better, sitting there and checking every single app on your phone just because you don’t want to head on, truly doesn’t have any value.
GROW YOUR TEAM
This one goes for me. I realized I wouldn’t be able to save enough time to make all of my resolutions for 2018 happen unless I grow my team. Surely, I will spend lots of time educating the new members of my team, but I’m sure it will be worth of it.
#3 SET THE TIME FRAME
Once you get a mentor or find the time, set the time frame. You know you don’t really need to start working on your New Year’s resolution on January the 1st. It’s better to wait for everything to settle down and go back on the track after all the parties and celebrations. In fact, this is one of the reasons why I didn’t write this blog post before. I also assumed you will need me to tell you that nothing is lost even though haven’t started working on your resolutions for 2018 yet.
Back to the time frame. There is no such thing as general best time for starting working on the New Year’s resolution. Start when you are ready! The only thing that is truly important here is to know what will happen when. So set your time frame. When you will reach the first milestone when you evaluate the results when you let yourself crush, and finally when you will finish.
#4 MEASURE THE RESULTS
You always need to know where are you at. And no, not only to see how far away from your goal you are but to keep you motivated and down to Earth.
#5 EVALUATE YOUR RESULTS
Be sure to ask yourself if you actually want to make your New Year’s resolution to happen. Is your life better now? Are YOU happy? I mean there is no good in your resolutions if you don’t feel happy from the beginning till the end and afterward.
If your answer is yes, then I bet you will make your New Year’s resolution for 2018 happen as you wanted.
Nevertheless, you must remember you are not a loser if you decide to give up on your resolutions because they don’t make you happy. Don’t look at this as a failure.
MORE RESOLUTIONS AND MORE LIFE LESSONS
By the way, would you like to read more strategy, business and life tips on Brunette from Wall Street blog? Apart from being a fashion blogger, I’m a business consultant too, and I would be delighted to share a few strategy tips once in a while. Although I do must say, fashion is more fun. Besides knowing what to wear is as much as important as achieving your goals.
Anyway, I’m quite curious about your New Year’s resolutions. Did you make resolutions for 2018? How many resolutions are there on your list? Well, wait, the length of your resolution list doesn’t even matter anymore. We all know you will make all of your New Year’s resolutions happen this year.
