No idea what to wear to work anymore? You came to the right page. This time I’m sharing my favourite everyday mid-seasonal business casual outfit. The one outfit, I dare to say, you can wear no matter where you work. How is this even possible? Well, let’s just say thanks to the camel coat, white crisp blouse, killer black sock boots and dark denim. Yes, jeans are included.

While we are counting down the days until spring, I decided to share with you my chic business casual outfit you can start wearing now and wear it until the sun comes out. And you leave your camel coat at home. And guess what? This business casual outfit is perfect for any girl boss in her 20s, any lady boss in her 30s, any CEO in her 40s and any power lady in her 50s. Well even for those in the 60s and gen Z. No matter how old you are, and most importantly no matter where you work, this outfit is for you!
On the days when you feel slightly more casual and don’t need to dress business formal of course. Ups, am I confusing you right now? Well, I have a good reason to do so. There’s one thing we must discuss first, before heading on my chic, fit for everyone, winter / mid-seasonal business outfit.
WHAT IS BUSINESS CASUAL IN 2020?
I keep getting your questions about what does business casual actually mean. You never know if blue jeans are good to go for the office. And moreover, if you can wear jeans to the meetings. Oh, if only the right answer were so straightforward as it used to be. You can close all those business code books and manuals because most of them are wrong.
With the pop of new types of jobs and new types of working environments, the casual business code has changed too. Surely this doesn’t mean you can walk around your office in flipflops just because you have a hammock instead of a sofa in your office. Or in your ski boots now in winter. But it does mean you should dress more casual for office like this. Read according to the spirit of your company.
CAN I WEAR JEANS TO WORK?
Anyway, back to the light blue jeans. I guess the answer is slightly simpler this time. Thanks to the and the fact that it’s still winter time. And the light blue jeans are simply not in fashion at the moment. So, my answer on “Can I wear light blue jeans to work?” is NO. At least not in winter 2020.
Besides, why would you even want to wear light blue jeans now, when dark denim is so fashionable and perfect for any office? Yes, the dark denim is the star of business casual outfits this winter. And for the next few months.
EVERYDAY BUSINESS CASUAL OUTFIT BETWEEN THE SEASONS
As said a few times before, this outfit I’m wearing here is perfect for anyone who wants to look chic, fashionable and professional at work every single day. Who would think you can look professional in jeans, right? But the thing is that you can! When you pick the right pair of jeans and style it right of course.
I’m quite sure you already guessed that the main star of this simple, minimal and trend-forward business casual outfit wouldn’t look so professional without two other power pieces. The dark denim makes this business casual outfit look casual and fashionable, but without the camel wrapped coat and crisp white shirt underneath this outfit wouldn’t make the same effect. Even the black sock boots are here for a good reason.
SIMPLE, MINIMAL AND PROFESSIONAL
The truth is, that this chic business casual outfit looks the best like this. With a power bag, gloves and red lipstick of course. But adding anything else, the sharpness you need for work would be gone. And this outfit would be again one of those that don’t fit for every work.
As said, there is no other general mid-seasonal business casual outfit at this moment. You know what I mean. The business casual outfit that would look fashionable, chic, professional and you can wear it from morning to the work and back to the street covered in snow. Or sunbathing in first spring sun rays. Well yes, we will be wearing this outfit for the next two months on repeat.
But first, you need to get it, right? Keep reading to find out where I got all the pieces I’m wearing. And find more similar pieces of course.

Don’t forget to pin, save and print the fashion cheat sheet. Oh, and make a copy for your colleague who comes to work dressed in ripped light blue jeans, an oversized sweater and Sorel ski boots on Tuesday. You know, in something that looks far from professional.
CAMEL WRAPPED COAT
First comes this gorgeous camel wrap coat from Escada. I feel I haven’t written enough about it. Despite the fact of how essential this camel wrap coat is. In fact, this outfit wouldn’t look as half as good without this coat. The camel wrap coat is in fact that essential link between the casual and formal you need for work. When dressing business casual of course. The soft wool wrapped around the waist brings that cosy touch of casual. While camel is the most fashionable classic business colour. Not mentioning how sophisticated it is.
The other thing I love about this coat is that I can wear it in any weather. Either cold or warm, the wool makes it suitable for anything. And as much as I love trench coats, I’m not excited to swap this coat for a trench coat just yet. Still, if you don’t feel the same or you are reading this post in spring already, I added my favourite camel trench coat at the moment in the widget above. Also from Escada. If you don’t feel scrolling back up right now, you can shop it here. Just click on the link and leave the tab opened for later.
THE OFFICE SHIRT – WAIT IT’S NOT REALLY THAT BORING SHIRT
Underneath the camel coat, I’m wearing a white shirt. But wait! There’s a surprise. I’m not wearing a boring casual office shirt. You know that white, tailored button shirt. This season it’s all about tailored shirts with a fame factor. With something different. Like a fringe in my case or a deconstructed silhouette.
See what I mean in the widget below. And get a similar fringed white button shirt to the one I’m wearing over here.
Are you still obsessed with the black boots as much as I am? These Elena Iachi boots (shop them ON SALE here) was my best buy in 2017 for sure. And not only because they are so chic. But because these ankle boots are the best booties to wear with the slightly cropped jeans. I love they make my ankles look normal, and there is no bulk (ups this might not be the right word) around my ankles. You know what I mean. All that fabric around your ankles that make your ankles swollen.
With a wrong pair of jeans and non-sock boots you never know what to do. Or tuck your jeans into the boots or let the jeans be over the boots. Either way, it looks horrible and just not fit for office. Unless your jeans end at the collar of the boots. Or you wear the ankle boots like I am. In short, these boots make everything much easier. And jeans look professional. Dark jeans of course.
Finally, the dark denim jeans. You know these jeans already. As I have been wearing them on repeat ever since I bought them in Paris. Thanks, Eva! These dark denim tapered jeans are from A.P.C., and you can get them here.
Ps. If you are a hardcore Levi’s, or Diesel, or Current & Elliott, GRLFRND, Mother, M.I.H. Jeans, Re DONE, or Rag & Bone girl, here are black denim jeans for you too. You can find them all in the widget below.
THE OFFICE BAG
You see me holding my old small top handle bag. Not really the office kind of bag. Especially if you need to walk around with the laptop and bunch of files. But a perfect one for all of you who carry your office on your phone, like me. Still, just to make sure, you finish your transitional business casual outfit with the right bag, there are some chic and work appropriate bags I found for you in the widget below. Happy shopping. And you can thank me later.
Before I let you swipe through the products again, or browse through the Brunette from Wall Street, I ought to mention the red lipstick and the gloves I’m wearing. Well, we can skip the gloves, as you won’t be wearing them in the office anyway. But the red lipstick is worth mentioning. In fact, red matte lips are quite an important part of this business casual look. You already know the red lipstick is classic, but I must remind you that the matte red lipstick is the one and only you should wear to work. That is if you want to bring a touch of sophistication to any casual outfit you might wear for work. I’m wearing Dior 999 matte lipstick. You can shop it here.
