This is my first 2019 outfit, but you will wear it all winter long

And here it is, my first 2019 outfit. But the winter outfit you will want to wear all winter long. Why? Because of the teddy bear coat, of course. The number one IT winter coat of winter 2019. But wait, there is more to love about this winter look!

Yes, I finally took my teddy coat out on the street. And for the first time ever wore teddy coat elsewhere than on the plane. Remember my winter airport look I showed you just the other day? Here, in case you missed it. I’m wearing the same teddy coat over there as I’m wearing it here.

Admittedly I didn’t feel myself wearing this teddy coat at the beginning. When I stepped out on the street snuggled in this oversize thick layer of faux-fur. You know, I’m 100 % Max Mara coat type of a girl. And elegance speaks my name. But hey, Max Mara does teddy bear coats as well. Besides, who says you can’t look elegant in a teddy coat?

HOW TO WEAR TEDDY COAT EVERYDAY

Nevertheless, we are not there yet. I think it will take me a while to feel elegant and classy in a teddy bear coat. However, I start to find a teddy coat as a rather good everyday coat. If not beautiful and elegant at least it’s fashionable and trendy this winter.

I told you already, teddy coat is number one coat of winter 2019. Luckily, sharing the IT spot with an oversize pink coat (this one). But still, fashionable enough to let me wear sock booties again. Even though my favourite ankle boots to wear with straight-leg jeans are somehow out of style for winter 2019.

Yes, as you read it. Sock boots are out of style. There are other winter boots far more fashionable this season. I wrote about them here.

What so ever, fashionable or not, you can still wear your sock boots when styled with teddy coat. I mean teddy coat takes the spotlight. And truth to be told, any other boots look a bit too much with a teddy coat. Especially if we are talking about an everyday winter outfit.

THIS IS HOW TO MAKE TEDDY COAT LOOK BASIC AND WEAR IT ON THE GO

So how to swap your favourite simple winter coat for a teddy coat and wear a teddy coat every day? Quite simple actually. By styling it with basic, yet quality pieces.

Like thick, dark denim jeans, black sweatshirt, black ankle boots that perfectly match your jeans. See how my sock booties stay under the jeans, making my ankles look normal and elongate the otherwise oversize silhouette? And for the end, matching black bag and gloves that match your lipstick.

TEDDY COAT

This faux-fur teddy coat comes from Mango (shop it here). It’s warm and cosy, but I can’t really say this teddy coat is the best buy. See the wrinkles? Yes, teddy coat can wrinkle too. Perhaps in some other colour, the wrinkles wouldn’t be so obvious.

Anyway, there are some other similar teddy coats I like as well. And I know, are better quality. Browse through the widget below to see all the teddy coats in off-white and other colours that I like.

DENIM JEANS AND SWEATSHIRT

As you can see, I’m wearing a black cotton sweatshirt underneath the cosy teddy coat. And truth to be told, I wouldn’t want to wear anything else but a cotton sweatshirt underneath this faux-fur coat. You know the faux-fur coats. When you feel cold, you are cold. But when you feel hot, you are burning.

As it goes to the denim jeans. I’m pretty sure you know them already. These are from A.P.C. Paris and you can get them here.

In fact, you should know this part of my everyday winter outfit already. I wore it for brunch not so long time ago. Only with a blazer instead of the coat and blue pumps instead of these ankle boots. Head on here to see that look.

SOCK BOOTIES

Mentioning the ankle boots, you can shop similar ankle boots here. And yes, even though sock boots are officially out of style for winter 2019, I still think you should have at least one pair of black sock booties. I mean how else do you plan to wear your dark straight-leg denim jeans for work on Friday? Not with under the knee boots, I hope?

GLOVES, MAKEUP AND BAG

Finally, the most essential accessories that will bring a dash of elegance to the teddy bear coat. The gloves, lipstick and bag. Well, perfect curls, hair on point helps too. But we can’t really count on hair due to the fog, rain, mist and wind, can we? I sure can’t.

That is why we have gloves (shop here), makeup (shop eyeliner here) and bag (shop similar here). Well, truth to be told we have gloves for cold, and bag for tissues. And makeup is a must in the wind.
