Chic Business Style in Pale Pink Sneakers and Dark Mom Jeans

Today it’s all about one of my favorite meeting-to-meeting and date-to-date outfits. You know, the outfit that is so versatile, fashionable and refined in a way, that you can wear from brunch with your friends to the business meeting in between and to the evening cocktail at some posh bar. In two words chic business. Yes, you got it right. Despite the pale pink sneakers and jeans, you can wear this outfit to a business meeting while looking chic and professional. That is, if you work in fashion or doing business with millennials, of course.

CHIC BUSINESS STYLE

Surely, sneakers and jeans have no place in the business world. At least not in the traditional business world, where looking professional and serious is far more important than looking chic, innovative and inspiring. Yet, we the digital millennials, especially digital girls, who are earning some serious digits, are rocking the business style. Chic business to be exact. To be clear, we are bringing the chic business style next to business casual style. And we make any casual clothes, yes mom jeans and pink sneakers, too, looking far more professional than anyone would imagine.

It turns out that pink sneakers and mom jeans, dark mom jeans to be clear, and some nice silky blouse, with a tailored piece of clothing, can be a legit business outfit. Chic business outfit. The emphasis is however still on chic. Nevertheless, you can wear this outfit from morning to evening. From to a brunch with friends, to the business meeting and finally to drinks in the evening. Thanks to the fashion god, who made pink sneakers fashionable this season.

SHOP AND WEAR MY STYLE

Before I share my tips on how to make pink sneakers and jeans ready for the business meeting while turning them into a chic business look, a few words about my style.

I’m wearing pale pink sneakers from Puma (you might recognize them from here), floral silk blouse (see how I wear it in fall over here), dark blue mom jeans from A.P.C., navy blue trench coat from Michael Kors, pink leather gloves, and mini black bag. Oh, and sunglasses.

HOW TO MAKE PINK SNEAKERS AND JEANS LOOK CHIC BUSINESS

Honestly, making your pink sneakers and mom jeans fit the chic business style, is not that difficult at all. In brief, you need to wear it with twice as much elegant pieces. Yes, we are talking about style formulas again. Remember my style formula for light blue mom jeans and boho skirt and boho dress?

2 + 2 x 2 CHIC BUSINESS FORMULA

So, here it goes. If you want to wear your jeans and sneakers and look somehow professional and claim this is your chic business style, you must know this 2 + 2 x 2 formula. And, almost forgot to mention, mind the colours and cuts as well. Read on to see what I mean.

DARK STRAIGHT-CUT MOM JEANS

Firstly, if you want this outfit to look somehow chic professional at first glance, you must wear dark jeans (either dark blue or black), that come in a straight cut, mom jeans this season, and have no holes. Remember, no matter how fashionably ripped jeans are, you can’t wear them to the business meeting. At least not to the business meeting at the office or anyplace where they respect formal dress code. Though you might still get through the business meeting with fashion people.

PALE PINK SNEAKERS

Luckily for all the boss ladies who can’t walk around in heels all day long, flats are still in. Moreover, all type of flats. Even the sneakers. However, when it comes to colours there is only one choice you have this season. Well, two, to be honest. White sneakers, embellished this time, are classic. Yet, the pale pink sneakers are the it sneakers at the moment. You know what I mean? If you go for sneakers, instead of stylish slippers, go for pale pink sneakers. Ps. open toe mules are a no-no when it comes to chic business style. After all, it’s still a business style we are talking about. Meaning no open toes, no matter the fashion.

Pale Pink Sneakers from Puma

THE FORMULA

Finally, about the chic business style formula. As said you need to wear the two of your casual chic pieces with twice as many elegant pieces. You can see me wearing my chic pale pink sneakers and chic mom jeans with a navy trench coat (trench coat must be dark), silky blouse and finishing the look with gloves, and small tote bag. Obviously, you can change the gloves for a statement piece of jewellery or a nice silk scarf. About the sunglasses. Well, they are my go-to must. No matter how cold it is these days, the sun is shining brighter than ever. Anyway, unlike Anna Wintour, I take them off for the business meeting.

2 WAYS TO UPGRADE THE CHIC BUSINESS LOOK

Before I let you browse through the clothes in the galleries, more tips on how to rock the chic business style.
There are two chic ways to elevate your chic business style and eliminate the casual essence of it. First, simply swap your pale pink sneakers and put on other fashionable flats, or any heels (apart from wedges and open-toe shoes, obviously) and wear them with your dark mom jeans. I usually go for heels. As I’m rather clumsy in flats. I even stumbled when shooting this photos.

Or, swap your dark mom jeans for stylish striped pants as I did over here. You can still keep your pale pink sneakers on.

CHIC BUSINESS OR CHIC BUSINESS CASUAL STYLE

To make it clear, we talk about chic business style when we wear only fashionable clothes and accessories. For example, pale pink sneakers, mom jeans or striped pants. And about chic business casual style, when we wear one fashionable piece and other not so fashionable one. For example, mom jeans and white sneakers. Or even more relevant pale pink sneakers and skinny jeans. You know what I mean. While skinny jeans are more or less out, this makes an outfit like this casual chic business. And that is only when we keep pale pink sneakers on. Or if you want, wear skinny jeans with other fashionable flats.
