There are the teddy bear coat, the vinyl coat, the faux fur coat, the leopard coat and the grandma’s camel coat. So many different coats that are fashionable right now. And yet only one of them is the IT coat. Always in fashion and in the closet of every single French girl, celebrity, and model. And, ha, even in the closet of your granny and mother. And it’s time you put this always fashionable and stylish coat into your closet too.

THE ONLY COAT YOU ACTUALLY NEED
I guess you knew what coat I’m writing about before even opening this post. Indeed the only coat you actually need, because it’s always in fashion and looks très chic every season, is the camel coat. Yes, that same coat your grandma has been wearing since you know her and all the Parisiennes wear with their leather ankle boots and black jeans every day.
Let’s be honest, how often do you buy a new coat that you will wear for years? Well, you probably try to convince this when you give your credit card at the checkout every year. But do you really wear that same coat for years? I guess not. Well unless you already bought this coat that I’m writing about. Because the camel coat is the coat, you buy only once. And wear it always! Given you buy a quality coat of course.
CAMEL MAKES EVERYTHING LOOK MORE EXPENSIVE
So what’s the fuss about the camel coat that makes it the staple coat? No, it’s not only the fact that camel makes everything look more expensive. It’s way much more. In short, you will know once you try it on.
Honestly, I didn’t even know I need a real camel coat before getting one. You know how much I love to wear my off-white, pastel peachy pink double-breasted princess’ coat. Yes, the one I was wearing with the track pants in this post here. And that powder peach coat goes so well with everything. Well, everything but my off-duty personality. You know what I mean. No matter what I wear that coat with it doesn’t fit my changing mood. It always makes me look sophisticated. But the real camel coat, this coat makes me be anyone I want.
BECAUSE IT MATCHES MY MOOD
In brief, the camel coat is the staple coat because it goes with every type of clothes and shoes you could put on. But it also matches any type of mood you have. And makes you look so chic every time you wear it. Yes, even in the summer. You should have seen my très chic friend Eva wandering through Ljubljana on rainy summer mornings in her camel coat and sneakers. She looks just breathtaking. Anyway, to make sure you are the one I will say you look breathtaking too, here are few tips on how to style your camel coat.
But first, as usual, more about this look that I’m wearing this time.
CAMEL COAT OFF-DUTY
Given it’s the end of the week, I decided to share how I wore my Escada wrap camel coat on my little escape to the grocery’s market in Ljubljana last Saturday. Remember how I took you to my first visit to the covered market and let you walk with me through the stands of the famous Plečnik’s market in my Insta Story? If you missed that, be sure to start following me on my Instagram now and don’t miss any of my future ESCADA escapes. Ps. You can read more about my #ESCADAescapes over here. Also, all the photos from the market are coming up on my blog soon. Meanwhile, let’s focus a little more on this outfit.
As said, I wore this casual, off-duty outfit to the grocery’s market. I know, you probably didn’t expect to see me there. Well, the truth is that I only buy grocery’s by myself when I’m in Paris. I just enjoy my small talks with old sophisticated Parisians at Le Bon Marché Rive Gauche.
Anyway, as I already wore this outfit when shopping groceries at Le Bon Marché (ps. this is the famous a high-end, Parisian store that reflects the Rive Gauche vibe), and I knew it’s appropriate for the luxury grocery shopping, I decided to test it in Ljubljana too. You know, even though these streets and this market are the opulent, well more posh, spots in Ljubljana, this is still a rural environment. But in the capital city.
RURAL CITY LOOK
In short, I styled my wrap camel coat for the grocery’s shopping at the open market and a short walk through the old part of the city after shopping. To match my outfit for the rural and urban parts of the city, I styled my camel coat with straight light blue jeans, olive wedged sneakers (yes, these are just like the camel coat, always in fashion). Under this chic wrap camel coat, I’m wearing a white Victorian blouse (remember Victorian blouse is the only blouse you should wear – read more about this here). And for the final touch, I’m wearing this cute little yellow shoulder bag. Oh, and leather gloves of course. You can’t go without the gloves to the grocery’s market.

WRAP CAMEL COAT
I’m wearing Escada Sport camel coat. You can get this classic wrap camel coat here. Note, a camel coat made of a virgin wool is an investment. Although this coat comes at an affordable price. Moreover, it’s on sale for the US now. It can be yours for only $375. But better hurry up, because it’s running out fast.
Well in case, this wrap camel coat sells out before you finish reading this post, you can get a similar one here.
You saw me wearing these straight leg blue jeans from A.P.C. so many times before (last time here). I probably don’t need to say these jeans are my favorite, do I? Luckily for you, these jeans are back in stock. And you can shop them here.
Under my Escada Sport wrap camel coat I’m wearing a white Victorian blouse. In case you missed I already wrote about how fashionable this type of blouse is now in one of my previous blog posts (here). It’s undoubtedly a must-have. Plus if you change your jeans with tailored pants or even with some dark blue tapered jeans, and put on some pumps and grab a top handle bag you are good to go to any business meeting or brunch. Get similar white Victorian shirt here.
YELLOW ESCADA SHOULDER BAG
I finished my look with a pop of yellow. This shoulder bag from Escada turned out to be the perfect bag for the Saturday’s shopping at the market. I must admit I’m more of a top handle bag girl, you know what I mean, but this bag had me the minute I saw it in the showroom in Paris. You can get your yellow Escada shoulder bag here, or shop the orange one from the widget and the EDIT above.
Ps. In case you haven’t noticed yet, all of my fashion cheat sheets – the EDITs are shoppable. Just click on the item you want to shop, and a link will take you straight to the place where I got that image.
GLOVES AND BOBBY SNEAKERS
You know I can’t go anywhere without my gloves. Luckily this blue pair is the one that I didn’t lose yet, as it goes perfectly with the camel. Surely you have noticed the camel (even when popping out from the leopard print) goes best with the dark blue. You can shop my blue leather gloves here.
Finally, the Bobby sneakers. And no, these wedged sneakers won’t go out of fashion. Ever! Just like camel coat, bobby sneakers from Isabel Marant are classics. You can shop same sneakers as I’m wearing here.
HOW TO WEAR CAMEL COAT
Lastly, some inspiration for how to wear camel coat. Ps. You can shop all the looks from the EDIT. Same as in the EDIT above, just click on the items you like.
By the way, let me know if you want to know how to wear wrap camel coat for any other occasions that I might miss.
