And another how to post. This time with these tips you have been asking me to share them with you for a while now. My tips on how to look chic when it rains. Yes, there is the chic guide for when it rains in the fall in front of you.
I know, merely thinking about what to wear for when it rains, can be so frustrating. Especially in fall when there are slippery autumnal leaves on the floor, and everything looks so dull and depressive. However, dressing up for rain and looking chic while walking under the umbrella is not that difficult at all.
Seriously, there is not much into this style problem. In fact, dressing up for the rain shouldn’t be a problem at all. And no, not even for the autumnal rain. I know, this sounds a bit too good to be true right now, but believe me, once you finish reading my chic guide for when it rains in the fall you will see I was right.
HOW TO LOOK CHIC IN THE RAIN
As said, there is not much to know about how to look chic when it rains. So no, the rain won’t stop by the time you finish reading this post, because once for a change my chic guide is actually quite short. Well, thinking better you might get to see a rainbow if you stay around for a while and check all these chic items I added into the special widgets in this post.
Anyway, better start checking my tips on how to look chic when it rains. Otherwise, you will miss the rain.

TIPS TO LOOK CHIC WHEN IT RAINS
There are only 3 tips you should know to look chic when it rains this fall. And yes these tips apply to spring rain as well. And also to the summer rain. Although there is a special guide on how to look chic when it rains in summer over here. So, in case you are reading this post in late spring or somewhen in the summer, be sure to check that post later too.
#1 DON’T DRESS FOR THE RAIN
First things first. Unless you are going to spend the entire afternoon jumping in the puddles, there is no need for you to put on the rain boots and that PVC rain cover. In short, if you want to look chic when it rains, then don’t dress like its raining cats and dogs.
Especially when it’s only drizzling. And the rain is so light that raindrops barely touch the ground. Besides if it was raining cats and dogs you wouldn’t even leave your home, would you?
Obviously, if it were raining heavily, this tip doesn’t apply by letter. In this case, just make sure you put on 1, yes only one, rain appropriate thing and style it with something chic. Just like Parisians do!
#2 MAKE YOUR CHICEST CLOTHES AND CHICEST SHOES RAIN APPROPRIATE
So to make this clear for you. If you decide to put on a trench coat or fashionable parka, then don’t take away your chicness by styling your raincoat with the rain boots. Instead, (writing for autumn winter 2018/19) wear it with fashionable cowboy boots (like these from Ganni I’m wearing or Fendi) or chunky sneakers (Balenciaga, Gucci, Nike or Reebok).
No, you won’t wet your shoes. You can trust me on this. I have tested cowboy boots and chunky sneakers in both conditions. In drizzle and heavy rain, so I know what I’m writing.
Ha, thinking better the chunky sneakers are the only sneakers made for rain. Seems like that ugly thick foam has some other use apart making a fashion statement after all.
Anyway, as said, other chic shoes you can wear for the rain, heavy rain or just a drizzle, are this season’s IT boots, the cowboy boots. Surprisingly these boots, even though made for the wild west and dessert are prone to the rain as well. Well, at least mine! But I’m pretty sure all these from the widget below won’t get ruined in the rain either.
Ps. When looking for western boots, you could wear in the rain as well, make sure they have the crock mock effect. The crock mock will make sure your boots don’t get wet and coloured.
#3 GET THE RIGHT UMBRELLA
You must have spotted those transparent umbrellas everyone was wearing during the last fashion month. You might have even read there is more about the transparent umbrellas than being just a chic see-through rain shield.
Moreover that there might be even a new fashion trend falling down with the rainbows. Fake news! Even though the transparent umbrellas match perfectly the transparent plexi pumps, which are by the way still in fashion (ps. more about the shoes in the autumn winter 2018/19 shoe trend report), fashion it girls weren’t wearing transparent umbrellas because of this.
No, we were wearing these see-through umbrellas just for one reason. The thing is that transparent umbrellas make street style photographers easier to take photos of our outfits since we can’t hide under the transparent umbrella.
Imagine you were wearing this fashionable outfit that would put you on the best-dressed fashion week street style list for sure. But no one could actually see it because your old broken dark umbrella would take all the spotlight while living you stand there in the shadow.
Anyway, to put this short, the transparent umbrellas are not the new must-have accessory. And you can wear any other umbrella in the rain. Wait, I didn’t actually mean any umbrella. Especially not that broken umbrella you randomly grab on your way out.
If you want to look chic when it rains, then get yourself an umbrella that matches your shoes. Yes, we are matching our shoes with an umbrella this time.
Ps. I added plexi shoes and transparent umbrella to the widget below as well since I know you wish to have a see-through umbrella for yourself too. Just make sure you don’t leave it everywhere. It might get legs if you know what I mean.
