Where do fashion, music, sports, fries, guys and gals meet all at one place? At the Super Bowl, of course. Missed it? Don’t worry I have you covered on this. With everything but the final score.
Truth to be told, I missed the Super Bowl. Again. I mean the game. Not the halftime. I mean this is what Super Bowl is all about in the first place, right? The entertainment during the halftime. Well at least for the 87 % of the viewers (data from 2017) who watch Super Bowl solely to see the ads and music performance. So, yes you can count me in. Because I still don’t know who won. But I know all about what was going on in between.
THE BRAND LIFT
Although truth to be told, the actual ROI on Super Bowl is far from expected. In fact, brands don’t even use standard ROI to measure how successfully their $5 million (which is the price of Super Bowl ad in 2018) flew away in those 30 seconds. The Super Bowl ROI is called the brand lift. Which is just the likelihood of someone recognizing the brand after seeing it’s Super Bowl ad. And that brand lift puts the brands who spent $5 million (well a lot more if we count in all the costs) on the Super Bowl ad even lower than the mico influencers with the 13 % of engagement. An average brand lift in 2017 of 13 % simply can’t be compared to the 13 % of engagement Instagram influencers have.
THINGS TO REMEMBER FROM 2018 SUPER BOWL
Anyway, I’m not planning to bother you with the numbers this time. I mean it’s only Monday, and Monday shouldn’t start with numbers. Instead of fashion news, I decided to share some of my favourite Super Bowl ads with you. Although I must say, I doubt I will remember them a week from now.
But I will definitely remember what they wore at the Super Bowl. Yes, we are having a little fashion stop, too. You know fashion is a must on Brunette from Wall Street blog. And no, we are not stopping at the American football players’ outfits. We are checking the ads fashion this time. Although, we could discuss the makeup of the athletes for hours. You know what I mean.

PEPSI IS BACK
Pepsi, “This Is the Pepsi”
Starting with my favourite ad, the Pepsi. And no, not because I would love Pepsi (you know I don’t drink it at all) but because of the iconic Cindy Crawford of course. Surely it’s not a coincidence they brought Cindy back from her famous Pepsi ad from 1992 now. Afterall that ad was one of the best ads Pepsi had since it joined the Super Bowl. So bringing Cindy back to Pepsi ad in 2018, when Pepsi is finally coming back to the Super Bowl, is a genius idea. We all know how popular Cindy is again. BECAUSE IT’S THE MOST FASHIONABLE

I CAN’T SKIP THOSE
Well, those were just the prettiest ads. Only the prettiest. Because truth to be told, none of those ads will lift the brand just by itself. We all know we remember only the most annoying ads. Well yes, this is why Super Bowl ads are so stupid, hilarious (if you get their humor of course) and genius at the same time.
So what are my least favourite ones? You know what? I’m not telling you. I mean why spoiling your week with that annoying jingle. Besides, I’m quite sure you couldn’t escape that blue knight no matter how much you tried.
MORE BUSINESS BUZZ AND MORE FASHION
I must say I’m quite disappointed with the 2018 Super Bowl ads. And I don’t mean in the fashion sense. Cindy did fulfill expectations of the fashion gals quite well. But as it goes to the emotions and storytelling, Super Bowl ads step far behind. I think it’s time the big players search for inspiration outside their own brand. They are getting boring and moreover irrelevant to the modern world. Whatsoever, at least we got Cindy back and a glimpse of fashion too. Ps.
