It’s summer and yet it’ feels like it’s autumn already these days. It’s rather cold and raining. Like all the time. Surely we didn’t believe a cyclone is really coming this weekend. And while still on our summer holidays or at least day dreaming of the sand beach and blue sea we haven’t start shopping for the new season yet. Luckily, I mixed and matched some of my on-the-go clothes and came up with these 4 outfits that are more than ready for a random summer weather. Let it rain, shine, or what the h*, it can snow too, this fashionista is ready for the cold summer days.
5# BASICS TO WEAR ON THE COLD SUMMER DAYS
As said, I came up with the 4 different summer-rain-ready outfits you should wear now, while waiting for the summer to finally come back. All you need are …
Don’t worry if you stocked all of your warm clothes in the bottom of your closet and your new clothes from the new Autumn / Winter collection are still hanging there in the store. I bet you still have these basic pieces somewhere laying on your sofa waiting for you to mix and match them for a cold rainy summer day. Well, if not, you should get them on sale now. I mean, these are basics pieces that you must have. And not to wear them only on the cold summer days, but all year long.
SUMMER RAIN READY BASICS YOU NEED
Do I even need to say anything else? Jeans are the one piece of clothing that can overcome any weather situation. Even the heat. You didn’t think we ripped our jeans just for fashion and fun, did you? Well, actually we did. But those holes turn out to be a great solution for the summer days mixed with rain, clouds, and sunshine. Ps. Be sure to check my previous blog posts on ripped jeans to find more styling ideas (Slightly Crazy, Ripped a Lot, but not Afraid Though in Love). Either blue ripped jeans; black ripped jeans or chic blue mom jeans, or skinny jeans that are back again (see here), any jeans will look great on you when you style them right.
BLAZER or LEATHER JACKET
There are two fashionable options you have to stay warm when it gets cold this summer. A white or grey blazer or your favourite outwear the leather jacket. Well, it’s still too warm to wear the next season’s IT outwear the shearling jacket. So a blazer or leather jacket will be a better choice. Wear your blazer with jeans for a chic, casual look or style your leather jacket with a nice mini tweed skirt.
And what to wear under the blazer or leather jacket when it rains or it’s cold this summer? While we got sick of all that off the shoulder and the cold shoulder tops we still love to wear words of encouragement. So a slogan tee will be a perfect. Alternatively, for a more elegant look, choose the short sleeved knit top. Best in some chic retro pattern. Ps. this is the chicest way to bring back the 70s vibe.
TWEED MINI SKIRT
Yes, you can wear the mini tweed skirt in summer, too. Well if it gets cold enough. And you wear it right. The best way to wear the tweed mini skirt? With chic sneakers or these season’s it shoes, the mules.
Either flat or heeled, mules are still on our feet. Although slightly different now than at the beginning of the season. Luckily, I thought ahead when I got mine. (Ps. The last time you saw me wearing these mules with the chic pink cocktail dress over here.) And chose flat mules with brocaded fabric. Anyway, if you want some heights, then go for rococo-style heels.
We still love to wear the comfortable and fashionable sneakers. And yes, our sneakers are still white or rosy. Although slightly more embellished than before.
Finally, don’t forget the only accessory you actually need. The umbrella, of course. It’s too soon to wear chic berets. Yet a nice scarf always makes a difference.
MORE SUMMER STYLES
Obviously, one or two rainy days don’t mean the summer has come to an end already, so summer outfits are still on. Surely, we did move toward the new season. And the fall season is on now. Don’t know what exactly I mean? Don’t worry you can find my fall fashion guide here. Also, be sure to follow me on my Instagram to be the first one to see my favourite pre-fall pieces and how I wear them now. Raining or not. Oh, and check my chic guide for rain! Find it over here.
