You know that saying, “Wear your heart on your sleeve?” Honestly, I don’t know what it really means. But you know what, it doesn’t matter because this spring our sleeves are reserved for ruffles. And ruffles only.
Wearing any kind of statement sleeves, either ruffled sleeves or extremely long sleeves. Or even worse, the combination of both can be quite unpractical. You know what I mean. Try to roll your ruffled sleeves up when you need to wash your hands. Moreover, ruffled sleeves are difficult to style. Well unless you are a little girl. Then you won fashion lottery this spring. Because let’s be honest, fashion has never been so girly before.
Anyway, the thing is, that you can look fashionable, wearing ruffled sleeves, while swapping the girly for the chic. Here is how.
SHORT SLEEVES AND MINI RUFFLES
To put it short, the best way to look chic and not too girly while wearing ruffles on your sleeves is to go for short sleeves and mini ruffles. You know, even though mini ruffles, they are still ruffles.
BLACK AND WHITE
There is no much to say when it comes to black and white. This colour combination can save almost any outfit. Not mentioning it flatters everyone. Still, make sure your sleeves and ruffles come in white, to make them pop.
RUFFLED AND RIPPED
Wear your ruffled sleeves with ripped jeans. If you need to look girly, at least look like a badass girl who doesn’t care about anything but style.
THE ROBE OR LONG TRENCH
Finally, think beyond the statement sleeves on your blouse, sweater, shirt or any other type of tops. And look for ruffles on the sleeves of your long trench. Or even better, the robe, which happens to be the most fashionable outwear at the moment.
HOW TO STYLE RUFFLED SLEEVES
So, how to bring all the things together? As said, the easiest way is to go for all black and white colour palette. Put on a black top, best if it has slightly longer sleeves, black ripped jeans and white outwear with the short sleeves and mini ruffles. Don’t forget to add some accessories. All in black, of course. Well, except the shoes.
Surely, any other ripped jeans work great, too. Be sure to check my Instagram to see how I wear my ruffled sleeves with light blue ripped jeans.
Last and least, I will share more about this outfit that I’m wearing in this post as well as how I wear this trench coat together with light blue ripped jeans in Style over here. So make sure you check that two blog posts, too.
So, what about you? What do you wear on your sleeves?
