The Fishnet Tights and other bold, thick tights are finally having their moment. Yes, we are wearing the fishnet tights in the middle of cold winter. Though not always on their own. It’s time to play a mix and match with the tights.
A THROWBACK AT GOSSIP GIRL’S BEST FASHION MOMENTS
Even though the last episode of The Gossip Girl has ended ages ago, we somehow still admire the Blair Waldorf’s style. Especially the way stylists combined her bold tights with almost everything. With all the brights hues and all the patterns, one could imagine. Indeed, Leighton Meester looked stunning every time she was wearing those dramatic tights.
I was waiting for a moment I will finally be able to wear the bold or at least thick cotton-silk tights out in public as Blair Waldorf. And not only hidden under pants. True, I might have pulled this style off some time ago if I didn’t care about fashion in a way I do. You know, it’s much easier to experiment with something new, when fashion approves it anyway.
BOLD AND BRIGHT TIGHTS
Surely, I will wait for a week or two to put on the bold red tights and go for an entirely red outfit. In case you haven’t heard yet, red from head to toe is on now. However, more about this reddish trend in next two weeks. I thought it would be more occasionally relevant to write about this few days before the Valentine’s Day. So make sure to come back, to check on this.
Now back to the tights. As mentioned in the first line, along with the bold thighs, there are also the fishnet tights in the spotlight right now. You must have seen at least five more fashionistas beside me wearing the fishnet tights under their miniskirts and ripped jeans. In case you missed, how I wore the fishnet tights with ripped black jeans, read this post and check my Instagram for even more photos.
THE FISHNET TIGHTS
The Fishnet Tights are such a thing now that I decided to dedicate this post almost entirely to them. After all, the Fishnet Tights have been overlooked for a way too long. Not without reason, though. Honestly, they are not very practical and often inappropriate for a sophisticated ladies. Personally, I have avoided them because I felt they are going to cut my skin and because I was always cold wearing them.
Nonetheless, we are wearing the fishnet tights now. Preferably in black. Either under the cropped fringed pants and very ripped jeans either under miniskirts and shorts.
HOW TO WEAR THE FISHNET TIGHTS
To put it short, this winter you can wear your fishnet tights without being cold. You can go for three different styles and stay warm and what is even more important to us, the fashionistas, look fashionable.
1) CLASSIC FISHNET TIGHTS UNDER THE PANTS AND JEANS
THE RIPPED JEANS AND FISHNETS
In brief, no matter how stylish the fishnets and ripped jeans look together, I’m getting sick of this outfit. As everyone is wearing it. I’m sure you will see at least two photos of fashion bloggers wearing this combination in the first 5 seconds of sliding down your Instagram feed. Still, it’s the safest and easiest way to wear the fishnet tights now.
Merely to remember you. You know the rule, the bigger the hole the stylish it is. Certainly, something you should be looking for when you want to highlight your fishnet tights.
CROPPED FRINGED JEANS AND FISHNETS
Then, there are the cropped fringed jeans. Undoubtedly, there is much drama going on in this outfit. Still, you don’t need to be a fashion-savvy woman with unlimited funds to pull this off.
Although you might need some help to wear this outfit to work. Don’t worry, I have you covered. Make sure you subscribe to my newsletter to get the fashion cheat sheets – THE EDIT, where I’m showing you how to style the fishnets together with the cropped fringed pants for work. And how to close the mouths of etiquette experts.
2) THE FAUX FISHNET TIGHTS UNDER EVERYTHING
Honestly, I’m only wearing the faux fishnet tights this winter. Could you tell the tights I’m wearing in the photos are not classic fishnet tights? I’m quite certain I tricked many of you. And left you thinking my legs are a bit swollen or that I got fat. Nothing of that, though. I’m simply wearing very thick tights with fishnet pattern.
Make sure you come back on Thursday to see my style in this faux fishnets. I will be wearing them with a tweed skirt.
3) DOUBLE THE TIGHTS UNDER SKIRTS AND SHORTS
Since it’s quite hard to find faux fishnet tights now in the end of the season, surely, I couldn’t find one like mine to share it with you, you should double the tights. To explain, you should wear some thick tights under the classic fishnets. For all of you, who find this too uncomfortable to give it a chance, you can swap the fishnet tights for net stockings.
All in all here is where we borrow the Blair Waldorf’s style. And bring it to 2017. Again, I like to wear this style with tweed mini skirts and tweed shorts. As said I will share all the details of my faux fishnet and double tights plus tweed miniskirt outfits in my Thursday’s style. So make sure you come back. Meanwhile, you can see me wearing this outfits on my Instagram. In case you don’t follow me on Instagram yet, you can find me @veronikalipar.

Ps. Before I invite you to continue exploring my blog, I have a confession to make. I didn’t eat that cake. One piece of cake was more than enough. I had two pieces, you know. Obviously, I ate only the nongluten, avocado cake. Check this post if you don’t believe. You will know I’m telling the truth, as I’m wearing the same fishnet tights.
