THE END OF THE YEAR PARTY DRESSING

After such a great time I had on my last picnic, I couldn’t wait to do it again. This picnic came at the right time for testing some outfits that will be perfect for the New Year’s Eve. Ideal for all of you who are celebrating the beginning of 2017 somewhere out in the cold. We all know that the New Year’s Eve under the stars is magical and romantic. And mostly very, very cold.

Therefore finding the perfect outfit for the night out under the stars in the cold weather is not an easy task. At least not if you want to look stylish and warm at the same time. Even more, when you want to be ready to party outside and in a club as well. We all now this night is longer than any other.

Fortunately, I have found a perfect outfit you can wear to the club in the first part of the New Year’s Eve. A well as later on when you leave the club and wait for the midnight fireworks somewhere above the sky. Anyway, more about the party outfit later. First, I want to share with you a word and a photo or two from my first winter picnic.

MY FIRST WINTER PICNIC

As I wrote before, I fall in love with picnics when I shoot my first fashion story at the end of autumn. Even though that picnic was only a few weeks ago, you can see many things are different this time. (Ps. You can have a look at my last picnic here.) Sure, the blanket is still the same and the sweets as well. However, this picnic is more special this time. I brought some Christmas Holiday spirit along with the chocolate and Christmas flowers in the basket to my picnic this time.

I thought swapping a bottle of Champagne for a bottle of some warm liquid will be a smarter choice for this picnic. So instead of dashing bubbles, I brought warm spices to the picnic this time. Can you guess what am I drinking? No, it’s not some red tea. It’s the cooked red wine. A great party drink you can take outside on the New Year’s Eve, too. I’m sharing the recipe for this sweet and delicious drink at the end of this blog post.

MY PICNIC PARTY STYLE

Now back to the party dressing and my picnic style. Looking to the frozen grass, you can see it was quite cold on my picnic this time. Well as it should be for the winter picnic. And for me to find the perfect New Year’s Eve party outfit. I was quite afraid leaving our extremely warm house and sit down on the frozen grass. Have I mentioned there is around 30℃ in our house? Anyway, I realised I shouldn’t worry at all after two hours of sitting on the blanket. I didn’t feel cold. Which is rather surprisingly for me.

It could be due to the warm wine I was drinking, or I was simply dressed warm enough to tackle the cold weather. Or perhaps the combination of both. I prefer to say it was a double win.

As you can see, I’m wearing a double-breasted coat made of 90 % of virgin wool, a velvet mini playsuit, gloves and over the knee boots. What you can’t see is that I’m also wearing high socks made of virgin wool under the over the knee boots. And that my velvet playsuit comes with long sleeves. Which makes it much warmer than any other mini velvet dress.

This red velvet playsuit is totally dazzling and surely tops any other party dress this season. It turns heads at the party in the club and makes you feel warm at any outdoor event.

WHAT TO WEAR TO THE NEW YEAR’S EVE OUTDOOR EVENT

The combination of velvet playsuit and over the knee boots turned out as an excellent outfit for the winter picnic. I’m convinced it will be a top choice for the New Year’s Eve, too.

However, to take this outfit from winter picnic to the New Year’s Eve Party and to 2017 there are still few things we need to do before leaving to the party.
We need to upgrade this outfit slightly. Luckily there are only final touches this already decadent and glamorous outfit needs.

First, start with your makeup and hair. I wore the decadent smokey eye and dark lipstick at this winter picnic. I had a minor accident with my hair. As I didn’t fix my braid well enough. After all this time, I’m still a beginner when comes to fixing my hair with bobby pins. Almost forgot to mention the nails. In case you are going to club as well. Nails won’t play such an important part of your outfit if you are spending all night outdoor. Yet, you never know.

Second, add some glamorous accessories. Apart from the gloves, which are obviously a must. A sparkly clutch and jewels should do. Also, don’t forget of fur, or faux fur if you prefer, stole. It’s warm and stylish.

WHAT TO DRINK AT THE NEW YEAR’S EVE OUTDOOR EVENT

Finally, as I promised before, here is the recipe for the best hot wine. (Pure alcohol and sugar, without any drop of water.) It’s the family recipe, a family secret actually. I’m sure you will fall in love with this sweet beverage after the first sip you make. Worth mentioning, make sure you don’t drink too much of it. It’s full of sugar and alcohol. If you don’t want to enter the new year fat and drunk, a glass of my cooked wine will have to do.

MULLED WINTER WINE RECIPE

Pour 200 mL of the red wine into the pot. Bring it to boil. Add 2 tablespoons of sugar, 1 teaspoon of cinnamon, 1 teaspoon of cloves, 1 teaspoon of vanilla and 1 teaspoon of cardamom. Stir to dissolve the sugar. Bring to boil again. Remove from the heat and pour into the mug or thermal bottle.

You can add a tablespoon of cocoa beans as well. Don’t forget to pure it into nice thermal bottle or thermal travel mug and take it with you to the New Year’s Eve Outdoor party.
