As once, Monsieur Christian Dior said: “Perfume is the indispensable complement to the personality of women, the finishing touch on a dress.” I would add that same goes for men, too. Only one drop of a perfume can change how people perceive us and how we feel about ourselves.
I am pleased to say I have discovered the ultimate perfumes I will be wearing and the one I wish other people were wearing in a business environment this season. After smelling varieties of different scents at perfume consultation by Dior professionals at Galeries Lafayette, I have found the fragrances that reflect the freedom and the power that only pure luxury can provide and which should be in possession of business people on their professional way to success.
I could not resist of discovering the perfect fragrance for men either. Again I found it in La Collection Privée Christian Dior. At this moment the preferable fragrance I want to smell when surrounded by men in a business environment is Fève Délicieuse. This composition, woven around a Venezuelan Tonka Bean Absolute, is slightly bitter and noble at once, just the way a business man should be. I especially like it when radiant heart notes burst with slightly smoky notes of Madagascan Vanilla.
There are two perfumes I found the most remarkable on my skin, this time, the Gris Montaigne and the New Look.
New Look is an explosive, generous, ultra-feminine and floral fragrance that evokes romantic feelings in me. In words of perfumer François Demachy:
New Look 1947 is a bouquet of flowers composed around Tuberose. I wanted to modernize this well-known flower through a more natural approach, giving expression to each of its facets.
Even though I disliked the first note of Gris Montaigne on the paper my final approval of this perfume was not a coincidence. When I put it on my wrist, I could smell its refined structure of the emblematic note that wafts from Miss Dior, which happened to be one of my favourite perfumes, straight away. Once I could smell it on my skin, this sophisticated chypre fragrance, a bold interpretation of the Dior Grey, with a burst of citrus, a floral heart of Turkish Rose and Jasmine Sambac, followed by a woody note heightened with Indonesian Patchouli set against an amber backdrop of moss, became a part of my business personality. With its mysterious nature which is gradually revealed through a day, it appears as I was wearing different perfumes from the early morning when I apply it on my skin to the night when I go to sleep. Sophisticated yet powerful, this is my business fragrance this season.
Choosing the fragrance suitable for business environment is as crucial the same as choosing the right suit. After all, the fragrance is the part of our personality, which reveals more than our handwriting. I strongly recommend you to consult with a professional before applying one. Even though you might not find your favourite fragrance at the first consultation, you will most certainly learn something new about yourself.
