While a Thanksgiving’s Dinner at your parent’s house is almost here, we can officially say that the Party Season has begun and it is time for us to put together all the outfits we will wear in all sorts of parties the next few weeks.

Party Season with the Family starts with the Thanksgiving’s Dinner

Even though, as a European, I don’t actually have a Thanksgiving’s Dinner and celebrate the Thanksgiving Day, I decided it will be fun to start with the family party dressing anyway. After all, we are still in the mood for celebrating Saint Martin’s day here. Seems like the same family holiday. When talking about the rich dinner obviously. Yes, you will find poultry and apple pie on our table.

I like to think of the family parties as something warm and welcoming. So I thought a nice mix of decadent and cosy style will fit perfectly for the occasion. This year leave the ugly sweaters and plain knitwear at the bottom of your closets. This time surprise your family wearing a statement sweater. Or a cosy knitwear decorated with a touch of velvet and gems. Wear it together with a metallic pleated midi skirt or with a black lace midi skirt if you decide for more dramatic top such as the pink and gold-tone sweater from Stella McCartney.

Don’t forget the accessories. Family gems and statement hair accessories are perfect for the occasion.

As it goes for the shoes, pick the shoes with a touch of velvet. Or some other funny detail that will uplift your outfit and replace the joy of the ugly sweater you left at the bottom of your closet.

When getting ready for the party with your family have in mind all the warmth and love you will receive. And of course, all the food you are about to eat. Therefore, better leave the tight dress for some other party and put on something slightly cosier.
