The sunglasses. We have this thing for the sunglasses for a good reason. Not only they help us hide we spent up all night, partying of course. Or writing the latest blog post. They bring a modern touch to any outfit and make it look chicer the minute we put them on our nose. Moreover, they help us feel confident and divine. Surely I don’t need to say; not any sunglasses work every season. This summer is the year of two types of sunglasses that will undoubtedly bring you the modern spin you were looking for. And what they have in common? The colour and the reflection obviously.
In short, this year is the year of the cats and bees. Don’t look surprised. I mean the cat eye frame and the round frames.
You must have noticed the cat-eye sunglasses somehow always end on the list of the fashionable sunglasses. Luckily for me, because the cat-eye shades have been my on-the-go sunglasses for years now. And I can’t even say the slightly pointy frames are my favourite ones. Honestly, I even think the ones cat-eye glasses I have (you saw me wearing them for the last time over here), make my nose look unreal. Too wide I would say.
Anyway, this year the cat-eye sunnies made to the list of the cool and contemporary shades because they are the perfect accessory that will give your vintage inspired looks a modern and sexy touch.
Go for mirrored lenses and solid, multicoloured frames. Regarding my experience try on both, the thick and the thin frames before you get your new cat-eye sunnies. However, I think you should go for the thin frames. Find my favourite cat-eye sunglasses in the galleries.
ROUND FRAME SUNGLASSES
The retro vibe of the 60s is on this summer. And the only thing you need to add a touch of that era to your outfit are the round sunnies.
You know the round frame sunglasses suit every face shape, right? Of course, as long as you go for the right size. Yes, you got this right. When it comes to the round frames, you just have to select the right size.
Ps. They say those with petite faces should go for the small round shades. Well, I don’t completely agree with this. I mean, my face is fairly petite, and you can’t say my large round sunnies don’t look stunning on me. Besides bees are fun. Anyway, I would advise you to go for a larger size of the round frames if you are ar chubby or have a wide jaw.

MY BARBIE PINK SUNGLASSES
You saw me wearing these stunning round frames quite often in the last two weeks. Ever since my watermelon picnic in our garden the other day. By the way, the blog post about that picnic is coming up soon. Then, you also saw me wearing these pink sunnies in my first EDIT over here. Ps. be sure you don’t miss it. It’s a must read on my blog, a weekly roundup of everything; the fashion, beauty, gossip and all the things you don’t know about me yet.
And, you also saw me wearing these pink sunglasses in the blog post Luminance under the Pink Roses, about Summer 2017 makeup trends, too.
The pink round sunglasses I’m wearing are from Sunday Somewhere (shop on sale here). Honestly, I didn’t know this brand before, and was a bit sceptical about getting them online, as I have a small head and my eyes become itchy if I put on glasses that are poor quality. But as I spot them at the Net-a-porter, you know the online store with the best clothes, shoes, and well, everything, I decided to get them without giving them a try first. Besides, I knew I could always turn them back if I didn’t like them. Anyway, I’m glad I took a risk and bought them. They are perfect. They fit me right, and my eyes feel great and protected from the summer sun in the city and the beach. By the way, I need to mention this is NOT a sponsored post. Also, most of the sunnies I added to the widgets are from Nordstrom. And they are on sale!
What do you think about the round and cat-eye sunglasses? Or you more of a bee or more of a cat person?
