After many years I took some time to pass by my high school and my favourite spots of my hometown Novo mesto. Coming back to the town where I spent so many years was anything but what I expected. Despite few Christmas lights and few children skating on the ice in front of the City Hall, the city was dull and empty. Yet a walk through my hometown of Novo mesto brought up so many memories and mixed feelings to me.
It reminded me how much I have changed in the last few years since I left the high school. I think I can finally say I grew up. Fiscally and emotionally. I’m no longer that little high school girl in a pink sweater and ruffled mini denim skirt. And high heels, running through the city while trying to come on time to the classroom. Well, I still wear the high heels. Although I’m not running late anymore. Sure, coming late to the airport and missing the plane doesn’t count. Nevertheless, more about that some other time.
Now to my street style in Novo mesto. One thing is certain. You can pull off almost any style in Novo mesto. A walk through the city in the morning during the week, when the city comes to life, if we can even say so, will reveal you a combination of all sorts of styles. You would be surprised. Laughs and admiration guaranteed.
Finally, about what I’m wearing. I thought bringing a combination of European and American style would be perfect this time. Afterall, Novo mesto is proud to claim itself as a city where the new First Lady of USA was born. So, I decided to wear the military coat and over the knee boots this time. Although my over the knee boots come from Italian brand Stuart Weitzman and are made in Spain which makes them 100 % of European origin, they do bring some sort of American feel. Anyway, more about this gorgeous suede pair in one of my following post. Let’s concentrate on the military coat a little bit more in this post.
As said, I’m wearing mine over the knee boots with the military coat for this occasion. Most of all to slightly upgrade this otherwise really simple and casual look. Hence the military coat brings a decadent twist to the chic boots I’m wearing.
Another reason why I’m dressed in the military coat is the message that this coat brings. Since fashion has always served as an armour to face the day and difficulties I thought wearing a coat with golden buttons would be perfect for the battle with my hometown.
This time, I decided to wear my grey military coat and brown Stuart Weitzman highland boots with small black handle bag. I finished my look with leather gloves. As it goes for the makeup and hair, I used Balmain Hair Couture products for the graphic silky hair and Dior makeup to create a slightly more decadent look.
