PARTY WITH FRIENDS
With so many parties going on every week the party dressing is already in full swing. And we are not even in a middle of December. If you are running out of your party dressing ideas, here is something to inspire you.
The most fashionable girls on a party are wearing one of these styles this year: sequins, velvet, metallic, suit and pyjamas of course. Whatever style you go for, there should be a touch of decadence and glamour in everything you wear. Which is more than ideal when partying with friends. I am absolutely certain you could hardly miss a party dressing trends this year.
Anyway, to upgrade a party dress from slutty to decadently glamorous can be challenging for some girls. Even though you might hold on the excuse that you are going out with your friends, meaning you can dress whatever you want. And most importantly wear it however you know … don’t style your dress with everything you can find. Rather than on the layering and over accessorising, focus on the material of your dress, suit or skirt.
Here is how to wear my favourite of the most fashionable party style this season.
SHE WORE BLUE VELVET
First, let’s start with the velvet. The most dashing material of the season. I love this style for many reasons. Mostly because it is so versatile and comfortable to wear. Not that the party dressing should be comfortable at all. What is even better, you can wear the same velvet dress from the morning to the next morning. Yes, you can wear a velvet dress, you will later wear to the party, to work on a Friday morning. Under the blazer, of course. You can simply take off that blazer, change the shoes and add some jewels before you go to the party with your friends.
Wear a velvet dress with velvet ankle boots or suede over the knee boots. Mind the colours of your tights. I prefer to wear sheer black silk tights when wearing a velvet dress.
I almost forgot to mention the most important thing regarding the velvet. The blue and red velvet. There is a reason why you might relate these two colours with the velvet. And it is not entirely due to the song. “She wore blue velvet, bluer than velvet were here eyes …” It’s because velvet looks best in dark hues. For me, there is hardly any bigger faux pas this season than candy pink velvet. So, put it short, wear velvet in dark blue, red, purple, green or black.
To upgrade this style to an entirely new level wear a velvet suit.
