Party Dressing: Family Party

Christmas Holidays are almost here and going to at least one family party is unavoidable. If you are heading to your parent’s house this week for a party or to decorated the Christmas tree, while spending some time with them, here is what you should wear.

I like to think of the family parties as something warm and welcoming. Well, until when mothers and even more often grannies start asking us about our dating life and moreover criticising our looks.
Anyway, despite the minor stress the family gatherings bring, we all love family parties. Ha, mostly because of all the food. So I thought a nice mix of decadent and cosy style will fit perfectly for the occasion.

What to wear for the Family Party

When getting ready for the party with your family have in mind all the warmth and love you will receive. And of course all the food you are about to eat. Better leave the tight dress for some other party and put on something slightly cosier.

Still, leave the ugly sweaters and plain knitwear at the bottom of your closets this year. And surprise your family wearing a statement sweater. Put on a cosy knitwear decorated with a touch of velvet or gems. Wear it together with a metallic pleated midi skirt or with a black lace midi skirt if you decide for more dramatic top such as the pink and gold-tone sweater from Stella McCartney.

If you really can’t resist wearing an ugly sweater, then at least wear it as I do. In case you missed the blog post in which I’m sharing how to style and wear an ugly sweater as a chic fashionista go to my Instagram @veronikalipar or click here.

Anyway, back to more beautiful things.

Don’t forget the accessories. Family gems and statement hair accessories are perfect for the occasion.

As it goes for the shoes, pick the shoes with a touch of velvet. Or some funny detail that will uplift your outfit. And replace the joy of the ugly sweater you left at the bottom of your closet.
