I bet you had some busy days when you barely found a little time to get changed for the evening plans out. I know, it’s annoying if you have to spend an entire day wearing the same makeup. The makeup usually starts melting around a lunch time and by the end of the working day, we sparkle like a diamond.
Sure, we can fix this gross look with a simple tissue, a touch éclat and loose powder, but this doesn’t get us quite ready for the dinner or an evening party. If you are anything like me, you want to look even more fabulous at the end of the day. And that requires an evening makeup.
The upgrade of your daily makeup to the evening makeup is very simple. And it doesn’t require you to wipe off all your makeup and start applying the evening makeup from the scratch. If you indeed lack time, or you are just lazy, only take out your eyeshadows and some dark lipstick and apply them over your daily makeup.
Of course, it helps if you plan ahead in the morning and make nude makeup in the morning. Nude makeup will blend most easily with other shades later in the day. You can even go darker gradually during the day and apply the darkest colour with some glitter in the evening.
Use eyeshadows with buildable colours to add shape (a lighter colour for the daily look and darker for the night look) and intense liner to define your eyes.
Here is how I did my makeup for this post. I used Burberry Burberry Complete Eye Palette – Nude Blush No. 12, Chanel Ombres Essentielle No. 114 Admiration, Diorskin Rosy Glow Blush, DiorSnow Foundation White Reveal Fresh Transparency Liquid Foundation – 012 Porcelain, Diorskin Forever & Ever Control loose powder, Dior Backstage mascara serum-primer, Burberry Cat Lashes Mascara in Jet Black No.1, Dior Addict Lip Maximizer Lip-Gloss, Chanel Rouge Coco Shine 56 Chance (for a Daily makeup) and Burberry Lip Velvet Oxblood No. 437 lipstick.
For the daily look, I first applied a mixture of the Chanel Ombres Essentielle No. 114 Admiration and an aluminising base from Burberry Burberry Complete Eye Palette – Nude Blush No. 12 to highlight the upper outer part of my eyelid (just under the brows) and close to the nose area.
I also applied the aluminising base on its own all over the eyelid. Then I applied the lightest of the buildable colours at the corner of the eye (on the bone) in the half moon shape. I finished the look by applying the brown eyeliner with an eyeliner brush on the outer half of the eyelids close to the eyelashes.
For the evening makeup, I simply applied the darkest of the buildable colours on top of the buildable shade I used for the daily makeup. And applied the same eyeliner but this time, I pressed harder. Hint: if you are not that comfortable with changing the pressure of holding the eyeliner brush you can simply use darker eyeliner and let the eyeliner do the work for you.
For the end, I topped the daily lipstick with some darker shade. I used matte Burberry Lip Velvet Oxblood No. 437 lipstick.
